Pink or Navy? TORN: ETA: Keeping Both!

I love both! Hubs slightly prefers one to the other. But loves both too.

Pink more fun.

Navy more elegant.

Will wear this dress to WFH, work with clients, run errands, walk doggies, or go out. No set way. It’s VERY COMFORTABLE and I can move, so all good.

Which? :)

ETA: Keeping both!

Replacement Orange Pleather Pants!

Here is the back story:

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ange-pants

Winner, winner, chicken dinner :)

Even better than the last pair. Longer, wider, snugger fit on the hips and waist, cute pockets! LOVE the front 11.5 inch high rise.

Style: Maeve: The Colette

Longer and wider on me than on the model.

Wearing them with burgundy and cream today. Sorry, just this fast pic! Busy day.

Hair Project: 1 Year in

For those who are interested.....

This was a SLOG of a grow-out when your hair is slow growing like mine!

I do not recommend growing out your hair from a super short pixie with no fringe, to shoulder length hair with long fringe - unless you are very motivated!! Which I was, and still am. I have four more inches to go! Then I will have reached my goal, and I'll be super satisfied. Still have odd layers and a fringe to grow out.

Completely natural colour! I'm a dark blonde, or honey blonde now. Have not dyed it in a year. It's much lighter when the sun shines on it (#3). If I lived in a sunny place, my hair would be naturally sun-kissed like it was when I lived in Cape Town.

I prefer my light blue specs with my darker hair! (#4 and #5)

My goal is to keep it soft, simple, natural, polished, and in excellent condition. Sometimes straight and sometimes wavy. I'm wearing fun pearl clips and barettes too! Pics at some point.

This is blow dried straight. Not quite long enough to look fab behind one ear, but getting there.

LOVE the infrequent visits to the salon, the very short time in the salon chair, and the much cheaper service.

This is the last day of our end of year break and we are relaxing very casually at home. This is as casual as I go. I'm about to do some cooking and take the doggies for a walk.

I'm on a mission to make quite big changes in my life - and this has been one change. A goal accomplished :)

Got the Aquatalia Selini Boots! (Pics)

At 30% off, I pounced on the "pearl" version of the Aquatalia Selini high shaft bootie. And they were still not cheap!

Is Aquatalia cheaper in Canada? Their prices have gone up in the US.

That said, cream and white shoes are wardrobe essentials for my style. I will wear them all the time - with everything! And they are weatherproof for Seattle rain. Good, that!

They are PERFECT for my low volume, narrow feet and ankles. Neat and tidy, polished, refined, super soft, on the dressier side, versatile, and with my favourite snip-toe (which is a pointy square-toe). Very comfy even with still healing fractured baby toe. I sized up half a size to get more length in the toes. I have LONG toes that need room :)

I love the shape of the heel. It comes in, but it's still quite blocky. Feels fresh for my style!  I'm surprised I can wear heels this high. I usually need a less high low heel.

The Aquatalia's are made in Italy. These are the third pair of shoes I've bought this year that are made in Italy and working well for these high maintenance feet of mine. Shoes made in Portugal, Austria and Brazil seem to work well too. Something about their last works for the shape of my feet. I'm making a mental note.

Popped them on to test with my very casual WFH outfit of cream cords and cashmere jumper.

In case they might work for you too! xo

WIW: Solid Simple Bright

It's COLD. Snowed today. Stopped now, thankfully! About to head out to work with a client for the rest of the day.

It's been a stressful week. Brights calm me down and make me happy :)

These red velvet pants have become workhorses! Puffy sleeves and cashmere are my Winter jam. The orange coat has a quilted thinsulate lining so its VERY warm. Like a puffer. I'll add red gloves for the short drive.

This is a very comfy outfit, albeit dressy. My work with clients is more active than you expect so I need to be able to move very freely. No outfit malfunctions, and lots of coverage!

11 months in and I'm getting used to my natural dark honey blonde hair and longer locks. It's been an adjustment! Loving its healthy condition, and how it keeps my ears warm. Wish it was four inches longer. This time next year. Patience!

Thanks for looking. xo

Matched My Surroundings (Pics)

I ran errands at our nearby outdoor mall today, which is stunning! (#1) Seattleites - go to U-Village soon. Great vibe. Took the full length pics in a furniture store. (#2 - #4).

Managed to park and get there before the crowds....but it was BUSY by the time I left. Go early.

LOVE my new NAS maxi navy coat! Workhorse wardrobe essential.

Fractured toe 3 months in, and on the mend. Could manage my super hero boots reasonably comfortably.

Hair is soft and very natural. No chemical treatment. No style really, despite a few non-descript layers. This is a quick blow dry. The front grows more slowly than the back. It has to grow four more inches. Patience is a virtue I am learning!

I'm big into wearing bold solid statements this year - sometimes I throw in some classic pattern like a dot, stripe, check, or floral.

My colour combinations guideline: "wear whatever makes me happy!" :)

I won't be around much till Monday. Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US. xo

Fab Straight Velvet Pants (Pic)

From J.Crew:

If you're looking for a pair. Try these:

https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens.....t-leg-pant

Available in US00-24 across petite, regular, and tall lengths. In 4 colours.

They are VERY comfy, luxe and easy. They fit a curvier figure too. Not too high in the rise. I might need to have them taken in at the waist. Not sure yet. Will road test first.

Love how trouser-y they are! The pink launched me into orbit so they had to be mine :)  They are my "pink corduroy pants" - only they're velvet. I will wear them as every day pants.

They perfectly match a 7 year old COS cashmere jumper. Fortuitous match! See quick pic. Sorry that the hem on the one side looks tapered. I forgot to straighten it out! It's straight like the other side.

It has a blazer to match - which I knew would be problematic before I tried it on. I'm rejecting pant suit after pant suit at the moment because I don't fancy long blazers. I prefer them shorter so that you can see my thighs. Proportionally, it looks better to my eye on my body type - narrow shoulders! - and how I style clothes with flat footwear. Of course, I love the longer length blazer on those who enjoy it.

Lots on my plate at the moment. Back later. xo

WIW: Orange Oats with Blue

Worked with a client all day and wore this. My client meetings are very active because I move around and walk a lot. I get very stuck into cleaning out closets! I was super comfy thanks to fluid fits and happy feet :)

I LOVE wearing bright columns of colour. Here's texture-rich orange with faux leather pants and a cashmere jumper. I adore orange with some type of blue! Chose turquoise as the blue. Very old Furla matches my specs. Wooohooo! White pearls - always. Feel naked without them.

Tan textured herringbone classic coat over the top. All items are several seasons old except for the coat. That's new this year. I thought it a pretty match with my new honey hair!

Sam and Jo in good form, and supportive. They are wearing their orange collars to match.

Thanks for looking, and have a lovely weekend. xo

Hair Update: 11 months in (and a WIW)

It's getting there! Had some layers put in to give it some shape 6 weeks ago. Now it can grow! Have 4 inches to go. (#3 is the inspiration style).

100% my natural colour. No grey. Love the healthy condition! Getting use to the dark honey blonde. Hubs Greg loves it. Never wants me to colour my hair again.

Wearing it straight and wavy. This is straight. Gryffin, Tanya  and Helena will be proud :)

And a pic in really bad light of WIW yesterday running errands in oldies. 8 year old gilet - waving at Suz! 5 year old jumper, 7 year old jeans, 6 year old boots, 3 year old bag. Broken toe still on the mend......

Thanks for looking. Off to work with a client all day. xo

QUICK TRY ON: 2x Bottoms

Popped them on with the sweatshirt I was wearing. Not styled. Both items on my shopping list. Both items discounted at the time of purchase.

1. Green Trousers: Absolutley GORGEOUS impeccable quality. Much longer on me than on the model! Loving the fluid scrunch with the side seam zippers. Seeing this silhouette on the runways.....not that that's at all important! I'd have loved them anyway :)

My goal is to create a column of green. Looking for an apple or lime green jumper to match. In the meantime, works well with my navy, turquoise, shocking pink, burgundy, and citron knitwear. A few pattered blouses too.

I LOVE wearing dressy pants! It's become my thing.

2. Windowpane Wide Leg Jeans: A bit pyjama-esque, but I like that part! It makes me smile. No stretch, which I like too. Rigid, yet comfy, thanks to the tencel content. Size down a size. Runs big.

99.9% sure I am keeping both. But will sleep on it.....JUST to be sure.

Thanks for looking. xo
