OOTD: Turquoise Out

Some wanted to see my column of turquoise, so here it is! With blush pink complement of boots, bag, and strap to keep things light and pretty. Isn't the guitar strap a fluke of a good match......

Me in corduroy pants. WILDCARD! Love them!

Hair is back to naturally wavy and air-dried.

It's DRY and sunny so my pink boots can come out to play. Wooohooo! Off to do some errands on foot with Sam in tow.

Thanks for looking :)

OsOTD: Happy Festive Quarantine!

Seattle, WA, continues to be in a restrictive partial lockdown. But 2021 is full of hope for a brighter future, and I'm positive about it! I've learned some things about my style that I will share in a blog post (so no 2020 wrap-ups from me yet!)

In the meantime, this is what I'm wearing today and will also wear on Christmas Eve. Dressed up, but practical because I'm WFH, running errands on foot, and walking Sam.....like every day.....

It's dry and cold so I could haul out my wide legs without getting soggy hems. I LOVE these dressy red Ponte pants. They are sooooo comfy, and feel elegantly fun as they swoosh while I stride. A perfect fit without waist alterations. The pants work extremely well with my white
at-home-only sneakers because they are the right length for flats.

Navy doggie jumper with a pile of pearls makes me smile :)

Straightened my hair today, which I don't like. Back to natural waves tomorrow!

4 toppers in action:

1. Knitted Navy Jacket for AT HOME ONLY. It does not go outside. Glamming up inside ;)

2. Avocado Hobbs Jacket is a gorgeous new addition. LOVING the short length, which works well with volume on the bottom.

3. Cream Peacoat (13 years old and impeccable. Impressive).

3. Dressy Red Coat makes me look like Father Christmas.....yet I adore it and am very at ease wearing the combination. Bright columns of colour are my thing.

Signature colours, contrast, a bold statement, white boots, white pearls, swoosh, dressy toppers, practical silhouettes, a bit of glitz, playful pairings, and tailored fluidity are strong components of my SIMPAT style. Very high happiness factor in the renditions.

Thanks for looking :)

OOTD: Casual Festive Fair Isle

LOTS to celebrate today :)

The first COVID-19 vaccinations were given to Seattle healthcare workers on the front-lines this morning .....

24 years of marriage to my soul mate.....

Wearing boots for the first time since March.....

Naked skin is rash-free....

Sam and I stayed dry on our walk.....

2 more weeks of 2020......

Today was a regular WFH day with errands and doggie walks, all on foot and in the city. The Fair Isle jumper was a thoughtful gift from a Fabber, and is fun to wear at this time of year. Dutch orange Christmas!

The rest in my usual mix of old and new, trendy and classic, tailoring and fluidity, lots of colour, white footwear, shiny pearls, crisp polish, extreme comfort, and Sam in tow.

Straightened my hair for a change.

COVID continues to ravage the US and we are still in partial lockdown. Life is very restricted, and will get a little tougher before things look better in the Spring and Summer. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Hanging in there a little longer. Onward we go!

Thanks for looking :)

My Layered Dainty Necklaces & New Skin

I'm not a jewellery person, but like to layer the few necklaces that I have. I have 4 and that's it! I don't wear earrings but wear specs. I like to keep my jewellery dainty because it works well with my small frame, colour palettes, and more maximal style.

Here are two Winter versions, and exactly one year apart:

#1. On a plane to see my Dad a year ago, back when we travelled.....

#2. Today and now!

The second photo is my new skin. I have had a heck of a time with facial skin rashes this year. Good grief. My skin doesn't usually give me trouble - my feet do! - but this year has been hectic. One thing after the next and on it went.....

The most recent skin irritation was a recurring bad reaction to the steroid cream I was using to treat something else. The steroid cream treated the initial problem really well, but caused  others :(

As a result, I've had to stop using EVERYTHING on my skin apart from  pimecrolimus cream. The last few weeks I was able to add Vani moisturizer and Vani cleanser (new products that are working). Hopefully I'll be able to add a sunscreen of sorts next year. Thank goodness for grey and rainy Seattle right now.

All this to say that I haven't been using tinted moisturizer for 6 weeks. I would use it daily to even out my skin tone because I thought it made my skin look better. But actually - and I'm much surprised - going without looks much better to Greg (and I see it too). My skin feels healthier, dewier, and fresher -  although the skin tone is visually less even. Onward we go without tinted moisturizer, and HOPEFULLY no more skin irritations.

Show us your Dog-Cat-Bird Wardrobe Stash!

.....or any other animal that is close to your heart. It's ALL GOOD. And as sweet RunCarla mentioned:

"nothing wrong with wearing your love on your sleeve…or anywhere else on your body!"

Here's my stash, and what I'm wearing right now to work at my desk. My vintage gold Yorkie brooch from the 1960's is a treasure, and will come out to play soon!

(I also have doggie pyjamas, cases, and lounging tees).

Next up for me - horse stash. Since I used to ride and have horses, they are my second favourite animal (followed by giraffes, zebras and ladybirds).

Your turn :)
