Show us your Dog-Cat-Bird Wardrobe Stash!

.....or any other animal that is close to your heart. It's ALL GOOD. And as sweet RunCarla mentioned:

"nothing wrong with wearing your love on your sleeve…or anywhere else on your body!"

Here's my stash, and what I'm wearing right now to work at my desk. My vintage gold Yorkie brooch from the 1960's is a treasure, and will come out to play soon!

(I also have doggie pyjamas, cases, and lounging tees).

Next up for me - horse stash. Since I used to ride and have horses, they are my second favourite animal (followed by giraffes, zebras and ladybirds).

Your turn :)

So fun! Here's my one and only, which I've had for ages and still wear and love!

Oh, unless leopard counts, in which case here is a sampling of my large collection!

    And does Catbug count?

ETA: Oh, and there is a good peacock contingent as well!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

YES, Mary. Of course, Catbug counts! I was also hoping the peacocks would feature :)

  • MsMary replied 3 years ago

Angie, I can't wait to see that fabulous brooch in action!

Oh, and I forgot my favorite peacock-themed fancy dress! (Still waiting for somewhere to wear it...) And, now that you mention it, my wedding gown with its peacock-feather lace motif!

  • Inge replied 3 years ago

    Oooh fun!!
Your brooch is a work of art, Angie!!
And Mary, your peacock items: WOW!!

I have three doggy-themed items and love all three equally (and open to get more;-)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Mary, GORGEOUS DRESSES. Where is your peacock clutch and fascinator?

    Inge, soooooo stinking cute!

  • MsMary replied 3 years ago

HOW COULD I FORGET THE PEACOCK CLUTCH???

    And the fascinator, of course!

  • Synne replied 3 years ago

Omg, peacock fancy dress. I am so envious MsMary! I am currently looking for a woven zebra print coat with big lapels. Something Debbie Harry or Patsy from AbFab would wear. It has to be the right combo of flattering and ironic :-D

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

As I mentioned, I don’t really do cute motifs unless it’s sleepwear or socks. Maaaaybe a graphic tee. But here is my collection.

1-2 pug and kitty pajama pants. Both clearly loved and worn, so not very fab but cozy.
3-4 cute sock collection - 3 is pugs of course, 4 is sort of a theme. Yes, I love sushi and still regret not buying the Yummy Sushi pajamas that were on Buffy the Vampire Slayer over 15 years ago.
5 crane print tee from JCrew a few years ago
6-7 more birds, BCBG and Zara
8 elephants on a little part of a favorite blouse by Tolani
    9 Pixies tee with cat
10 koi fish blouse by Karen Kane
11 bird tee from Amsterdam that is now loungewear

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

I need more peacock in my life!

  • Murph11 replied 3 years ago

So fun to see these collections :-)  I just ordered a coffee mug printed with our dog's mug for DH's gift... he'll 100% love it. And, I wear my Dog Mom tee regularly (layered over a long sleeve white tee as needed).

And, like Mary, I do love a little leopard!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

Dog portrait print t-shirt, four pairs of dog socks.

  • MsMary replied 3 years ago

Oh, Firecracker! That tee is a classic!!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Your stash makes me smile :)

SOOO FUN! Lots of unique and very personal items too. Lovely to see.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

Thanks, Angie. I really like it, even though of course it would be even better with a Yorkie on it.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

I know, right? Yorkie stash is very rare....

But I have the best brooch :)

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Love seeing everyone's collection. I have two cockatiels, Nikki is pure white and Izzy is gray and white. They are very affectionate and entertaining. I have no cockatiel items in my wardrobe but I couldn't resist buying these bird themed items. Dinosaurs are ancestors of birds so I've added my Never Forget tee.

  • replied 3 years ago

Ooh I wanna play- since you mentioned birds :) Have a peacock facinator too but hiding it from the > ^-^< and not entirely sure where it is!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

We have two dogs, a Scottie and a Jack Russell.  They are both “used” dogs.  While I have a lot of dog things, very few are of Jack Russells, especially rough coated ones.  So this is mostly Scottiepalooza.  :)       In the last picture, nearly everything was thrifted, except the bottom row.  I took a jewelry making class at the junior college, and made the two Jack Russell pins.  The first one was my prototype, and the second one was my finished piece in silver.  It’s not Bob Barker, but our previous Jack Russell.

  • replied 3 years ago

bonnie, your cockatiel looks just like me :)

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Nikki: He is awfully cute and you do have the same name. We think they look like a bride and groom dressed for their wedding.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

OMG, I want a YLF party where we all wear gorgeous peacock dresses like Ms. Mary's!! That would be so amazing.

I have a friend who says that any shirt with a bird on it is by definition brilliant.

And any poem with a dog in it, ditto.  :)

Ok. I have a few....mostly tops. I will always be in the lookout for Siamese cat themed stuff. The J. Crew blue blouse and the Equipment (same as Ms. Mary's) fall into that CAT-egory. :)

I also own a rooster printed tee (no photo, alas) and an elephant pin.

And my kid (also a cat fanatic) owns several kitty print masks, courtesy mum's shopping skills. :)

And I used to own a Halogen cashmere sweater. Alas, no more! I am definitely open to more items with animal prints, esp. Siamese cats.

Oh, and there's some leopard....and snake. But I think those fall into the wild animal world more than the animal companion world -- at least for me.

  • Debora replied 3 years ago

    I love this thread!!!
Who remembers this kitty blouse that a bunch of us bought from The Gap years ago? Does anyone still have it in their closet? I do!

I’m a grandma to a Samoyed puppy now, so there will be puppy themed gifts this year. Here’s baby bear at 8 weeks old and 8 months old. DD will be getting this apron and her BF will get this tee. Shh, don’t tell!

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Here are my two little birds on a branch ... I wear it daily to remind me of my Mom, who loved birds!

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

So fun! And reminding me of a few items I didn't realize I have, I will try to dig them out later.

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

This thread puts a smile on my face every time I check it out for updates!  Alas, no creatures feature on any of my clothes - but DS#2 has a bear theme going on.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

This is so wonderful! No only because we get to see everyone's special items but also because it brings lurkers to the fore. Debora!!! So great to see you and your great Gap shirt that I still wish I'd purchased!! Also...that puppy!!!!!!!

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

I’m away at the beach at the moment but here’s a photo of my peacock rash guard. Along with my dog - surfing is exhausting.

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

I don’t think I have anything! But I love seeing what everyone else has in their collection.

We do have a one eyed cat- Joker - she was a stray and stayed around. She is a bit elegant in a seedy way.

  • Lynne replied 3 years ago

Love this thread!  Mary, your peacock colours are divine!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Margot is my 4th Westie with DH and I having had fur kids together since we married. I have lots of Westie inspired items, including cushions for the sofa and ornaments and toys - people love giving me Westie inspired items. In terms of my wardrobe, I do enjoy fun prints, but have not gone too crazy with the doggie theme - although I have recently purchased some tartan to match my dog's Scottish heritage.

    My Westie items are:
Earrings - given to me by a close friend on the death of my beautiful Westie Bijou - so these earrings are very special to me
    Westie Brooch
JCrew shirt - with little Westies embroidered
Sweater - with dogs in the fair isle print

    Other animal / bird items:
    Owl bag
Owl scarf - with a cat on the scarf too
    Red bird scarf
    Tiger wrap tunic
    Black Sheep sweater (on order)

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

what a fun thread! I have been on the look out for a t-shirt with some cat designs but I need to find a balance between cute and casual. So far, I only have this brooch :)

  • Barbara Diane replied 3 years ago

I also have some animal prints, but as you can see, my animals tend towards socks and pins.
    Seeing everyone’s collections is fun.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    SO. MUCH. FUN. :)

Thank you, people! Seeing your stash and pets warms my heart! LOVE IT ALL SOOO MUCH.

bonnie, your birds are delightfully precious. WOW. Such joy!

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

My only animals (or pets) are on my socks. Giraffes and cats. Oh, and a porg coffee mug :D. Does that count?!

No wardrobe items yet for our pet frog...

  • LaPed replied 3 years ago

I like a fair dose of twee, but have very little in the way of critter prints. I am both a dog person and a cat person, so I hesitate to declare myself for one team or the other. Also, my heart is with herding breeds (border collies, aussie and english shepherds, shelties and collies, etc.) and they are under-represented in doggie swag! Easier to find in kids sizes; DS has worn this "super-dog" tee in 2 different sizes and is getting these sheep trial PJs from Boden as his Christmas jammies this year. I think the only critters I wear right now are on my silk scarves -- one with tigers (my Chinese zodiac year), and one with bees (because yay pollinators!). Also, two fish-themed necklaces because I'm a Pisces who grew up on an island. Perhaps my French press counts as a pet? I couldn't live without it. :D

  • Gigi replied 3 years ago

I don't have many animal items (other than animal print) and am always on the lookout for good ones. Right now I have only one, which is quite a few years old but is still holding up!

I just added this item to my finds for this post, and I'm glad I had the reason to look it up--I like the styling hack of having a bit of an undershirt peeking out below the welt of the sweater. I'll have to try that next time I wear it.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

The fun continues, and oh my word - all soooo cute! :)

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Wanted to join in all that fun - here are few pieces! The other ones need more time to locate- maybe later ;-) .
The earrings are recent present from my ex - looked a bit too precious to wear.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

    Fav glasses

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 3 years ago

I have this custom petit basset griffon vendéen t shirt in honor of Reedy. I hadn’t worn it for a couple years, but decided it would suit this older, not very trendy but cosy, felted wool mini.

I like leopard, zebra and all other sorts of prints but I was aiming for the animal motif.

  • DonnaF replied 3 years ago

Just kitty earrings and a panda blouse. Am not including snake, zebra, and leopard prints.

  • Kaelyn replied 3 years ago

I don't have much, but here are my Pembroke Welsh Corgi sneakers! They're my favorite breed, and I hope to get another one of these days. In the meantime, I adore my sweet mixed breed rescue. All dogs are good dogs.

I'm wearing these today to WFH and take care of Adora with black overalls and a black and white striped, long-sleeved tee.

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

    Sam got mugged !!

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

    Nice bow, btw.
