OsOTD: Happy Festive Quarantine!

Seattle, WA, continues to be in a restrictive partial lockdown. But 2021 is full of hope for a brighter future, and I'm positive about it! I've learned some things about my style that I will share in a blog post (so no 2020 wrap-ups from me yet!)

In the meantime, this is what I'm wearing today and will also wear on Christmas Eve. Dressed up, but practical because I'm WFH, running errands on foot, and walking Sam.....like every day.....

It's dry and cold so I could haul out my wide legs without getting soggy hems. I LOVE these dressy red Ponte pants. They are sooooo comfy, and feel elegantly fun as they swoosh while I stride. A perfect fit without waist alterations. The pants work extremely well with my white
at-home-only sneakers because they are the right length for flats.

Navy doggie jumper with a pile of pearls makes me smile :)

Straightened my hair today, which I don't like. Back to natural waves tomorrow!

4 toppers in action:

1. Knitted Navy Jacket for AT HOME ONLY. It does not go outside. Glamming up inside ;)

2. Avocado Hobbs Jacket is a gorgeous new addition. LOVING the short length, which works well with volume on the bottom.

3. Cream Peacoat (13 years old and impeccable. Impressive).

3. Dressy Red Coat makes me look like Father Christmas.....yet I adore it and am very at ease wearing the combination. Bright columns of colour are my thing.

Signature colours, contrast, a bold statement, white boots, white pearls, swoosh, dressy toppers, practical silhouettes, a bit of glitz, playful pairings, and tailored fluidity are strong components of my SIMPAT style. Very high happiness factor in the renditions.

Thanks for looking :)

Wow Angie ! You look simply beautiful ! And I’m sorry you don’t like your hair that way - I think it looks fantastic ! The colour is still nice and bright too :) What great pants these are , and I’m tempted to lemming ( Ha) them along with the green blazer and navy fur trim sweater . What a perfect set of holiday looks . Thanks for bringing some visual joy to what has been a lousy week over here . Xo

Oops - answered my own next question .

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    (fixed my typos - oopsie).

Thanks for the kind words, Lisa P. Hubs Greg likes my hair straight for a change too. Maybe I'm just used to the waves and need to keep a more open mind ;) So sorry about your sad week. Life is very hard sometimes. Hang in there.

(pandemic style observation: I'm wearing my dressy pants more than my jeans).

    Perfectly dramatic style! Love it!

Did you order the Hobbs jacket from their website?  They will ship to Canada, but the delivery charge is astronomical.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Nikki, thank you :)

Lisa p, yes, I ordered the jacket from the Hobbs site. The shipping was free to the US, and the item was on sale. You can also get the item at Bloomingdales, which is a recent addition. This jacket runs narrow compared to most retailers. The US2 fits like a US0 from BR, or even a little narrower.

You’ve got the mega-watt smile to go with the outfit.  Your colour mixing is inspirational.  Do you need to be conscious of your choices or is it intuitive at this point in your career?  I’m hoping to do more colour-on-colour in 2021.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, Carla. Not sure I know what you mean, but would like to answer this properly:

"Do you need to be conscious of your choices or is it intuitive at this point in your career?"

Do you mean my colour combinations, shopping choices, silhouette choices, or what I wear when I'm with which audience?

  • cindysmith replied 3 years ago

Angie, as always you look amazing. That navy jacket with the furry bits is EVERYTHING and it's my favorite topper out of this bunch of fab toppers :-D

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

You must be bringing smiles and hope to all who see your bright outfits and smile. Beautiful and Sam certainly approves your WFH outfits.

  • MsMaven replied 3 years ago

Wonderful cheerful outfit to celebrate that the days are now getting longer!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Oh, my -- SO gorgeous on you!! # 12 is beyond brilliant! But also...#15, #22, #25. The green jacket is superb on you -- just lovely! And I love it so much with the limey-citron accents and white and/or more red. ENJOY a festive day in the sun (well, the sun is already gone, but you know what I mean.) And anyway, you will bring sunshine to any place you go!

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

You just sparkle, Angie! Seriously happy colors and marvelous fits. And of course your assistant is the best. :-D

  • replied 3 years ago

That’s wonderful , thank you ! I have it in a shopping cart - and am giving it the “ think about it “ test ;)

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

Thanks for sharing these four variations - which are all super.  I think I like the cream coat the absolute best but really they are all wonderful.

I like your hair straight too - but I think I like it curly even better!!

What a lovely festive joyful outfit.

  • Irina replied 3 years ago

You look stunning, Angie, absolutely fantastic. You are a Queen of bright colors!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Bright and festive- you do it so well! Thank you for sharing the amazing outfits and fun pictures- brightened my day / evening/ too!
Avocado jacket looks just right on you - fab fit!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks so much, everyone!

Cindy, it's a cosy, texture-rich and festive item. Great for at home to lift the mood to glam ;)

Joy and Janet, my little in-house fashion stylist amps up my style and steals the show.

MsMaven, YES! Onward to longer days.

Suz, the Hobbs jacket comes in fire engine just for you! Loved our sun today :)

Lisa P, good to sleep on it first.

Sal, onto wavy hair! A little easier in our rainy weather too.

    Irina, that's awfully kind!

Slim Cat, you are gracious as always.

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

Wonderful outfits. I am trying to sit on my hands for more “ real” clothes until get more sorted with pandemic and retirement and doing more SYC for what I am wearing/will wear. But who knows!
The green jacket is perfect. I would love to see it with column of navy, including widelegs. I know you like the bright color combos, and they suit you well, but I hope you create some outfits where it is like a crisp green jewel glowing atop, and is the star ( along with Angie- green eyes!). It is versatile, so you will have lots of options.

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

Sorry, I wasn’t more clear.  Question is about colour choices when putting colourful combinations together.  Are there ‘recipes’ that equate with more successful combinations (like what a person might learn about colour in art school, say) or is it intuitive?  I’m asking, because I want to do more of it with my own outfits - colour with colour, rather than a neutral with colour, but struggle with getting it right.

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Where to begin? Your skin looks gorgeous so whatever you have been experiencing has left no negative impact. Your smile is infectious (in a good way :) )! The bright red suits you so well and I really like the mix with the sour colors. The furry collar is so fun for at home glam. And your hair does look great that way, although I do like it wavy quite a bit too :) .

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Red and green for the holidays your way. Love the new green jacket and it works perfectly with the red pants. In fact, everything you tried works wonderfully. You look very festive!

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

I love, love, love your bright and beautiful color combinations! And there’s Sam! What a cutie.

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

The red, black and pearls are so perfect for holiday festivities, nor can I ignore your signature white... but ohmigosh, I just love the matching polka dot scarf and jacket! Squeeeeee! That gives me joy! :)

  • Kate replied 3 years ago

You look gorgeous in that column of red, Angie. You would be a cheery sight to see coming down the street. The doggie jumper is adorable, and I love the Hobbs green jacket. Beautiful with the red.

  • Eliza replied 3 years ago

Such beautiful photos, Angie. The way you own your colors and combine pieces is inspirational. Festive, fun and authentic. With you on viewing 2021 with some renewed hope.

  • Star replied 3 years ago

I love all your toppers!  YLF!

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

Gorgeous! I love that Guess coat every time you wear it. I’d love something like that.

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

Oooh! You exude all things merry and bright! Your colors are delicious and joyful....so fun to see! Your details of pearls, fur and lots of red make me smile. I like your hair straight and as always love seeing your killer smile! Thank you!

  • Ledonna N. replied 3 years ago

Your everyday style is so on point it amazes me every time

  • replied 3 years ago

I like your hair straight too- it looks nice both ways! Great new jacket too :) And ditto Mainelady!

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

My favorite is that gorgeous navy sweater jacket with the fur collar - love it! You always look so bright and happy!

  • Kyle replied 3 years ago

Straight is great, and that red coat is everything. You are so talented, it blows my mind.

  • Laurie replied 3 years ago

Your lovely outfit brings this seasonal thought to my mind - "be of good cheer". You always bring so much good cheer to us, dear Angie.

I also love the navy jacket with fur collar, and I have wanted a red coat for decades and you remind me why I have coveted such an item.

    Fabness!

  • Carol B replied 3 years ago

Your color schemes blow me away. I particularly love that shade of green; it brings an element of surprise.and sets off the other colors . As is said, a picture is worth a thousand words and your photos always challenge me to be more creative in my own color choices.  Well, why not, I say? Thanks for bringing cheer into this world.

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

This is stunning, really. Can’t decide which combination I like the most. Green blazer is especially fab, it is waking my lemming tendencies :)

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

You have the most fun with fashion! Your style takes my breath away! The colors and silhouette are just so perfect! Thanks for sharing this gorgeous capsule. I LOVE it!

  • Liesbeth replied 3 years ago

Great outfit(s)! The one with the navy knit jacket is my favorite!

  • cat2 replied 3 years ago

Great lesson on sitting on the sidelines until you find the perfect pieces and then pouncing!

  • Dianna replied 3 years ago

Your outfit made me smile!  I love it with all the toppers, but maybe the red coat and the navy jacket are my favorites.

  • DonnaF replied 3 years ago

What a treat for the eyes! I especially like to see your color combos because I am so unimaginative that way. Which also means that I love, love, love your Hobbs jacket. It’s a relief to know that the style but not the company’s cut will not work for my body so my pocketbook is safe.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Oh my word! You are so awfully gracious. Thanks so much for the kind compliments! I'm blushing....and laughing :)

unfrumped, YES to the column of navy under the green jacket. Was planning that!

RunCarla, that's a GREAT question, and I have a lot to say on the subject. Maybe post it as a forum thread next year, and I'll give it my full attention. I'm a little pressed for time now.

  • Inge replied 3 years ago

Colourful chic at its best!!!! Those trousers are perfect! So elegant and striking! New sweater is super fun. The coatigan is divine, and so are your new blazer and red coat! Your outfits just keep getting better and better!-)

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

A blog post or forum thread on brave colour mixing would be wonderful!  Something to look forward to in the new year.  Thanks a bunch.

  • Christina F. replied 3 years ago

What stunning options you have here. You really are a model of my goal of making sure all clothing items are high quality. And you can mix and match most of them. Thanks for being a good example, and I hope you, Greg and Sam have a great holiday!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, gracious Christina.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Wow, I couldn't pass your new  hair here, Angie- straightening it was such a gorgeous way to change things up a little and YOU REALLY LOOK FAB with it!!!  Oh,  and all the fab outfits around your red trousers -a delish to my eyes-also love that shade of green of your jacket!!! Thanx for posting these!!!:-))

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Angie - you are so stunning. That lime green jacket found the perfect home, such a wonderful colour on you. The quality of the jacket is evident.

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

    Where to start...

Lazy, sloppy, dull style and for God's sake, Angie... Can you at least learn how to pose and would it kill you to smile for the camera !?

...In other words, PERFECTION ACHIEVED !
