Fab Straight Velvet Pants (Pic)

From J.Crew:

If you're looking for a pair. Try these:

https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens.....t-leg-pant

Available in US00-24 across petite, regular, and tall lengths. In 4 colours.

They are VERY comfy, luxe and easy. They fit a curvier figure too. Not too high in the rise. I might need to have them taken in at the waist. Not sure yet. Will road test first.

Love how trouser-y they are! The pink launched me into orbit so they had to be mine :)  They are my "pink corduroy pants" - only they're velvet. I will wear them as every day pants.

They perfectly match a 7 year old COS cashmere jumper. Fortuitous match! See quick pic. Sorry that the hem on the one side looks tapered. I forgot to straighten it out! It's straight like the other side.

It has a blazer to match - which I knew would be problematic before I tried it on. I'm rejecting pant suit after pant suit at the moment because I don't fancy long blazers. I prefer them shorter so that you can see my thighs. Proportionally, it looks better to my eye on my body type - narrow shoulders! - and how I style clothes with flat footwear. Of course, I love the longer length blazer on those who enjoy it.

Lots on my plate at the moment. Back later. xo

That color and texture are yummy. Although without glasses and with your new hair, out of context I might not recognize you.

This is so you!  You look wonderfully festive.  Sadly, I no longer have a need dressy holiday wear.  I kind of miss having those events…

Those are absolutely splendid on you!! All the shocking pink this season has been so much fun! Nodding along about jacket lengths, too. I did get one in the longer length, but decided that was enough to enjoy and have fun with the trend.

Wow! What a gorgeous outfit! I love, love, love how bright and colorful those trousers are, and they match perfectly with your sweater!

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Angie seeing you in a column of bright pink is just the sort of smile inducing cheer I need right now. You look amazing!

  • Star replied 1 year ago

    Wow - what a colour!

  • ChristelJ replied 1 year ago

Those are special pants, so pretty! I am happy you are going to wear this as an everyday outfit and not save it for occasions. The pink is also a wonderful tonic against dreary weather.

Fun! Ready for the Barbie movie :)

I’ve never found JCrew pants to fit me well, but those are lovely! If the colors offered were a bit more in my palette, I would try them. I do have one pair of black velvet jeans from years ago that I have to keep tucked away until I’m ready to leave the house — they are a dog hair magnet! LOL

Gorgeous pants! Love them with your sweater!

  • Katerina replied 1 year ago

Wow! Pink velvet, how great is that! Love the trousers, the sweater and the whole suit as well. The trousers are perfect for you Angie. It’s a bit pity that the jacket isn’t the right shape, bur the column with the sweater is superb. It will be amazing with so many things in your wardrobe.

Thanks, everyone! Appreciate the kind words :)

Sorry to rush off. Another busy day with a client. I'm going to wear the new column of bright pink, though! Not sure of the support act yet. Maybe red, orange, toffee or burgundy? White boots on my feet. Light blue specs. Pearls.

Wow! What a fabulous find for you, and they look amazing!! Perfect tonic for a dreary day.

WOW! How serendipitous for the match!

The cords do look very soft and cosy! :)

  • Synne replied 1 year ago

    So vibrant and so fresh!!

Those are beautiful! And you have a different kind of "suit" here! They look fabulous on you, Angie.  Perfect match, indeed.

Much as I want a new casual suit, I'm rejecting one after the other, too, because of the blazer style. It just doesn't work as well on me, to my eye (the long blazer). I have several "regular" classic length blazers and that's as long as I can really comfortably go (unless I go coat length). Truthfully, I prefer a slightly cropped style. So I'll just have to wait it out or hit the consignment stores, I guess.

I can to "almost" suits mixing and matching older jackets and pants, I guess.

Wowsa, what gorgeous trousers, and an amazing match with your sweater! You look so striking and yet comfortable in head to toe bright pink. I have a good relationship with J. Crew pants--they seem to get my body and they hold up well.

That is a snazzy suit! It appears to be an homage or close copy (depending on your POV, lol) of a Tom Ford suit that Gwyneth Paltrow wore in the mid-90s. As you have been noting, the 90s are back! It's funny: I have some shorter blazers, but recently I have been attracted to longer ones too, as long as I can find them with long-enough sleeves for my very long arms.

Gorgeous pants!  And if you want to go all-in, they even have matching velvet peep-toe pumps.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Thanks ever so much, everyone!

(I actually saved the look for tomorrow instead of wearing it today. Going out Saturday night!)

Jonesy, high five! J.Crew pants tend to work well for me too. You must love their long lengths! Yes to this suit being very '90s - and right on trend - GREAT pic. I will enjoy the longer length blazers on you :)

Suz, high five! You and I are short blazer people ;) - FYI: I've found that Hugo Boss, Theory and Veronica Beard are still doing shorter blazers. Hobbs too - as you know!

  • Sally replied 1 year ago

That is a really fabulous colour, and its great how the cords and jumper match.  I bet it is also really warm and comfortable.

  • Cee replied 1 year ago

You made me fall backwards out of my chair, Angie Cox !

Neck brace and pain relief, STAT !!

  • Inge replied 1 year ago

Fit and colour are absolutely divine!! And I can't believe how well the pullover matches your amazing new cords!!

  • Bijou replied 1 year ago

Oh my! This is all sorts of wonderful and just stunning on you. I have a pink velvet suit and it is so much fun - I always feel a little bit Austin Powers in my suit.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, everyone! Go Team Pink Velvet :)

I wore the column yesterday, with cream, white and citron! Here are the items:
