Hair Update: 11 months in (and a WIW)

It's getting there! Had some layers put in to give it some shape 6 weeks ago. Now it can grow! Have 4 inches to go. (#3 is the inspiration style).

100% my natural colour. No grey. Love the healthy condition! Getting use to the dark honey blonde. Hubs Greg loves it. Never wants me to colour my hair again.

Wearing it straight and wavy. This is straight. Gryffin, Tanya  and Helena will be proud :)

And a pic in really bad light of WIW yesterday running errands in oldies. 8 year old gilet - waving at Suz! 5 year old jumper, 7 year old jeans, 6 year old boots, 3 year old bag. Broken toe still on the mend......

Thanks for looking. Off to work with a client all day. xo

    Adorable! Sleek!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, Rachy! Not I REALLY need to get going.....

  • kkards replied 1 year ago

Wow! Your hair is super cute, and it’s giving me a relaxed Dorothy Hamill vibe.
    And love the outfit

  • CarolS replied 1 year ago

Hair and outfit both look so good, Angie! I hope that toe is right as rain before too much longer....

  • Mirjana replied 1 year ago

Love your hair Angie, sooo beautiful. I agree with your Hubs Greg. Great outfit too.

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

    YLF!

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

I agree with Greg too — I love your natural color, and the length is a nice change.

    Love those jeans on you!

  • Dee replied 1 year ago

Hair looking great, slowly but surely. Striking ensemble too!

  • AJ replied 1 year ago

Almost there! Your natural color is lovely! Can we see it wavy? : )

  • Minaminu replied 1 year ago

very nice! the natural hair colour highlights your eyes beautifully!

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Looking good! How has it been almost a year already ?? You certainly have more persistence than I ever will ;). I’d love to see it wavy and a little messed up !

  • ChristelJ replied 1 year ago

Your honey blonde is so flattering! Like a brand new accessory to play with. I admire how new your oldies look, too. Fun, fun, fun!

  • Sal replied 1 year ago

Your hair looks lovely Angie- gorgeous colour!!

And fun to see the golden oldies - always love those happy stripes.

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

    It’s really pretty.
I hope this is not too personal- I am always interested in *why* someone decides something like this, to stop colouring hair after years of doing it? I know the reason was the pandemic for many. Care to share your thoughts? Only if you want to of course xx

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 year ago

It's looking so good! I like where you're headed, too.

  • Inge replied 1 year ago

Your hair is looking gorgeous, Angie! And not long now until you get to your desired length, I think? I also agree with Greg;-)

    Super fun outfit!!

  • Katerina replied 1 year ago

Your hair is looking really nice, so healthy and what a beautiful color! Fun outfit, too!

  • Irina replied 1 year ago

Oh, looks fantastic! Such a beautiful color.

And hence, my question - do you anticipate any change in your color choices? All women I new who stopped coloring their hair, tweak their color palette. I did, too.

  • Style Fan replied 1 year ago

Your hair looks so pretty, Angie.  I love your inspiration.  Great outfit.

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Hair is looking fantastic! Your patience woes me. It’s hard to grow out a pixie. Said by one who never intends to try again! The natural colour is glorious too. You are blessed.

Love the gilet! I wore mine two nights in a row and was so happy in it!

  • gryffin replied 1 year ago

Love!! Color is gorgeous as are you. You look great straight and wavy. But really crushing on the sleek strict hair against the amazing maximal outfit. Looks incredible!! Enjoy. Kudos on the smooth as glass texture. Swoons. Still loving the upper line drybar 3 in 1 reserve. My texture is soooo much better. But jealous!!

  • Jonesy replied 1 year ago

Wow, it looks so healthy and happy--it's amazing that you remain blonde with no gray! Your outfit is equally happy :).

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

Absolutely gorgeous. Love the warm colour!! The style suits you so well too. You look FAB!!

  • Brooklyn replied 1 year ago

Your hair is looking lovely. So nice to have a bit of a change.

And I love your outfit in 2. I bet you turned heads.

  • Sally replied 1 year ago

You have a really pretty natural hair colour and the style really suits you.  Your style is impeccable and I like the vibrant vibe of this particular look.

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

Sweet!  Lovely natural hair colour, and those jeans are just the BEST JEANS EVER!

  • merwoman replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous hair, beautiful you! Love the colour and your sleek healthy hair! Your patience is paying off!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Sorry to post and run! With a client all day.

Thanks so very much, everyone. You're awfully kind! I'm smiling :)

Suz, it's a mare growing out a pixie. I do NOT recommend it. But I'm over the awkward stage at least. WOOOHOOOO, our fab gilet!

AJ and LJP, I'll post it messier and wavy soon! I like that version too.

Gryffin and Helena, a sleek hair look just for you!

Brooklyn, a treat to see you chime in. Thinking of you.

Inge, eight more months. By my birthday :)

Merwoman, your own hair growth journey is very inspiring!

JenniNZ, sure! Happy to share. I stopped colouring my hair after doing it for 18 years - (it went dark when we moved to Seattle) - for a few reasons. CHANGE being the biggest reason, and change is good in my case. I NEEDED A BIG CHANGE. All four parents have passed on. New chapter - new look. Also want very healthy hair - and the condition is fantastic at the moment. Hubs Greg loves the dark blonde, so that's a biggie! Not missing sitting in that salon chair for 2.5 hrs either. And last, it feels unique to be quite blonde without grey at this age - 52 - to Jonesy's point. (Thanks, Jonesy!) I might as well milk it! I might do one small front streak of platinum blonde, though. We will see.....

Irina, YES, a bit. My sour brights, whites, navies, blush, and light blue continue to work well. I am still a "Warm Spring". But I'm wearing all sorts of deep reds and burgundy much better with the darker hair. Wearing taupe shoes, a toffee topper, and textured tans these days too. Pretty! See new items in Finds. Also feeling very unhappy in olive. It drains me. Have broken up with olive.

Such a warm and yummy color! Dark honey blonde should be a name of an ice cream. Attractive layers and style. Love the inspiration pic.

Way cool jeans and sweater! You look awesome in stripes :)

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Nikki, I love honey and ice-cream, so you nailed it :)

  • kellygirl replied 1 year ago

Just beautiful! I love the longer length. Gorgeous WIW too. Stripes, buttons and white booties—yum!

  • Karie replied 1 year ago

Your natural hair color is so pretty! I’m letting my color go natural too - it’s coming out white/blond in front and darker underneath in back. Not sure if I will keep it or go back to coloring.
Nice to see you wearing some older pieces from your wardrobe!

  • slim cat replied 1 year ago

Lovely hair and very impactful outfit ( FAB )!

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

I love your hair and your inspiration style. Love the color too.

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

Thank you Angie. Excellent reasons! I think it’s very lucky not to have any grey at 52. I had quite a bit by then. But so did both parents by that age.
Yes change can be good. Changes we choose, at least…

  • replied 1 year ago

Your hair looks great- and lucky to not grey! One of my friends is Japanese Hawaiian and has no grey at 70! She's never worn makeup so I'm pretty confident no hair color either.

  • Staysfit replied 1 year ago

Angie, your natural hair color looks amazing and it’s so nice that you have no grey!   Orange and turquoise are happy brights and suit you so well!

  • nemosmom replied 1 year ago

Wow! I have been away too long! Love the new length and warmer tone!

  • Bijou replied 1 year ago

I love the longer hair style and the hard part of the grow out is now behind you. I have always loved those jeans on you, dressy and unique and perfectly styled. I have that striped Bowden sweater and it is still in pristine condition, such amazing quality. I have resolved to mainly buy my sweaters from Bowden for that reason.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, everyone! Appreciate the suppotive words.

Nemosmon, nice to see you back on YLF :)

Bijou, YES. This Boden striped pullover is impeccable quality. 4 or 5 years old. Love it! Fun to be twinsies with you.

Staysfit, I remember how fast your hair grew.....

Jenni and Suntiger, I think it's hereditary. My brother is 57, and no grey hair. Mum was 59 - no grey hair. Dad was 89 and had no grey hair on his head, but his beard was grey.

Karie, lovely to see you chime in! I like your natural hair colour. It matches Cosmo and Callie :)

Slimcat, Joy and Kelly, you are lovely as always!

  • cat2 replied 1 year ago

Oh, your new look will be terrific. And of course I love a good remix of oldies.

  • Bonnie replied 1 year ago

Your natural hair color is really beautiful and your hair will grow the four inches you want in no time at all. Meanwhile you'll have fun trying different styles. Love seeing your outfits, they are very inspiring.

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Natural hair for the win! Now I want to see it wavy :) ! Also delighted to see you mix up all those older pieces to make a very current look. Always a delight to see your smiling face!

  • Debbie replied 1 year ago

Your hair looks amazing. The grow out is amazing. I love the color. Your outfit of oldies is amazing! You look beautiful and your color palette is sublime.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks for making me smile with your kind words, everyone! I am getting use to the colour ;)

  • lyn67 replied 1 year ago

Love the hair inspo, very on trend now- and will look fab on you and with your natural color-in your picties it shows so well how healthly your hair is+ you are a lucky girl not having any greys over 50, really!!!:-)

  • RobinF replied 1 year ago

Lucky you with that gorgeous natural hair color! Love the inspo and it's so nice when it finally hits a stage that feels like a real style. I grew out a pixie many years ago but I think I gradually changed to slightly longer styles rather than do it all at once.

  • Ginger replied 1 year ago

I just commented on the other thread, but your hair is looking so good! I love the shape it has now, and you're getting so close to your inspiration style!

  • Sisi replied 1 year ago

Your natural colour is beautiful and I like you very much in the sleek hairdo!

  • Jenn replied 1 year ago

HOW is that gilet 8 years old?  Time flies.  It still looks as stylish as the day you got it. You could be a street style celeb.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

I'm blushing.....and giggling! Thank you sooo much :)

  • MsMary replied 1 year ago

OMG Angie! We're almost hair twins!!

  • Dana replied 1 year ago

Love your "new" hair color! Gorgeous as ever! It's interesting, Angie...you look really different with the darker blonde. How great to completely change your look with just a bit of a hair color change.
