Pink or Navy? TORN: ETA: Keeping Both!

I love both! Hubs slightly prefers one to the other. But loves both too.

Pink more fun.

Navy more elegant.

Will wear this dress to WFH, work with clients, run errands, walk doggies, or go out. No set way. It’s VERY COMFORTABLE and I can move, so all good.

Which? :)

I expected this to be a no-brainer... pink is always the right answer, right? But the vibe is so different! The pink one is sort of 80s, paired with the gathering, so it's a question of if that's what you want or not. The other is more elegant. Then again, do you ever really reach for dark unless it's a very somber event?! What's my meal if I'm benched?

  • Tanya replied 1 year ago

Very hard choice, as I love both on you.  Slight edge to the pink, as it is more fun and harder to find.

  • ophelia replied 1 year ago

Oh no! Both?? If I HAD to choose, I’d go w/ navy for longevity, but you can’t lose either way! Both colors look great. The navy does give a more sophisticated & classic look; the pink is more vivacious.

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

Okay, photo 2 gets me. PINK!

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

Okay, indulge us in indulging you--style those babies with shoes, etc, so we can get the whole picture!

  • Dee replied 1 year ago

My vote is PINK!! Perfect for meeting clients etc.., and just too much fun.

  • Brooklyn replied 1 year ago

    Pink. No question.

  • Jenn replied 1 year ago

You absolutely glow in the pink.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    SOOOO INTERESTING!!!

Sorry, Lesley! No time to style with shoes, and I'm not a big shoe person anyway. Shan't make a difference. They will be white, flat and dressy, or sneakers - same old, same old :)

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

I know, I know, but a girl can ask. ;)

  • Jules replied 1 year ago

    Pink!
Is it jersey? I think of you as having more refined fabrics for your more elegant pieces. This one feels right in the pink.

  • kkards replied 1 year ago

For me navy, for you pink.
Love the navy it has a very sophisticated look. But the pink screams fun with
    Fashion

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

I keep coming back to this! The Nordstrom photo does it no favors---I would never even stop on that shade of pink. In your photos, that is my ideal neon hot pink.

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

The one Greg likes more, whichever one that is.
My heart is given to pink, but your blue glasses frames pop more with the navy. Both are great, so indulge him? You’ve said you trust his judgement?

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Lesley, YES! Brighter pink in person. Muted in the stock photo. I bought the navy first. Was a devil and tried the pink a week later.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Jenni, you are wise.

    Tanya, nodding along!

  • Minaminu replied 1 year ago

Another vote for the pink too, I think it works well for your lifestyle and energy!

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

The pink look more "you" to my eye Angie, especially if you're using it for day to day activities in which I know that colour gives you calm energy. But both are lovely on you!

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

I did a quick peek at your dresses in Finds, and note at least navy dresses, and a couple with navy in the print - but no pink! I think you need a bright coloured dress, so vote PINK

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    I'm loving the comments!!

    Still very torn....

  • Lesley replied 1 year ago

    Ooh, Runcarla, mic drop!

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

Angie, what colourful accents would you add when styling the navy? That might make a difference too ...?

  • ophelia replied 1 year ago

Ooh, vote switch! Runcarla’s point switches me to pink.

  • Sal replied 1 year ago

I lean to the pink. I really like it with your darker hair!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    IMPORTANT:

Carla, thanks for looking in my FINDS! I've compared it to what's in my wardrobe. I always do my homwork :)

It's not comparable or repitition on a solid navy dress because:

    • #1 is DENIM
    • #2 and #4 are for FORMAL only
    • #3 is for FUNERALS only

    Hope that makes sense!

    I don't have a solid navy EVERYDAY DRESS :)

  • Irina replied 1 year ago

    Pink, no doubt.

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

@ Angie - LOL! I still vote PINK.  However, the navy really is elegant.  If you do decide on navy, consider a trendy Barbie pink dress too, but in another design.  Maybe something airy and light for hot summer days?

  • SW Ann replied 1 year ago

    Pink, absolutely.

  • Echo replied 1 year ago

There is no question in my mind that PINK is more flattering and fun. In navy, the dress doesn't speak to me at all; it kind of blends into the woodwork. Even your facial expression is more fun in the pink, which I think might reflect how it makes you feel. Yes, the navy dress is more elegant, but IMO this isn't an "elegant" dress from the start due to fabric and style. Like you said, it is an everyday dress, and for that purpose, pink wins the day.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Carla, nice suggestion!

Pink is in the lead.....by a long shot....

  • Peri replied 1 year ago

Fighting the lead...I like the Navy!

  • SarahD8 replied 1 year ago

Queen Duplication reporting in here to say BOTH. It just seems so practical and easy to wear! And in our climate it's a three-season dress.

(Full disclosure, I was leaning towards pink but your response to Runcarla solidified my Both vote.)

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Oh pink by a mile .

  • The Cat replied 1 year ago

Beautiful dresses. With your colouring, I think navy looks better than bright pink. And colours like green, teal, turquoise, peach or orange would have been even better.

  • replied 1 year ago

    Pink Rules ;)

  • replied 1 year ago

I like the navy more with your darker hair!

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Well, you know I am going to say BOTH!

But if it has to be one, I vote PINK

And send the navy to me. :)

  • Roberta replied 1 year ago

    The pink is THRILLING.

  • Olive Green replied 1 year ago

    Oh, the PINK.

  • replied 1 year ago

    Pink, for sure!  It’s a show-stopper.

  • DonnaF replied 1 year ago

To my eye, the navy looks Serious. But wouldn’t you get more work done wearing the pink? On the other hand, it seems like the navy would go better with the green you want to add this year. But my bottom line vote is for the pink because it seems to be a wardrobe hole.

  • jussie replied 1 year ago

Pink!! I think pink would contrast VERY nicely with any sour green items you add this year. :) :)

  • CarolS replied 1 year ago

Um, both?! They both look so good, Angie. I love the pink, but the navy is all kinds of wonderful, too.

Plus your hair looks UH-MAzing!! So good.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

You need a navy dress for every occasion, really? You clearly have a strong inclination, so just go with that. Either one would be great with sour green, and with your hair, just in different ways.

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Ahem, cough, cough -- Stag Fash, in this unbiased Queen Blue's opinion, everyone needs a navy dress for every occasion! (Joke, but only barely, because I really do believe that I, at least, need multiple navy dresses! And I have the dresses to prove it! Or at least I had them -- I've recently retired 3.)

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 1 year ago

Suz, Queen Navy Dress, i salute you from my tower of Skirts and Dresses of All Hues of Blue!

  • Column replied 1 year ago

NAVY. And your hair is stunning! I get it now!

  • unfrumped replied 1 year ago

Hmmm, this fuchsia pink is different from some of the warmer hot pinks you have worn, I think. Are you moving toward cooler pinks? I can’t assess it that well on my monitor , except that you can wear so many color tones quite well.
I do agree that in terms of what turns up, a more sophisticated navy dress may surface, while it’s less likely to find the bright color in a dress with the length & drape of this one. So if you’re being conserving of closet space, the pink has more “ impact” value while still being ladylike.
I’d consider the seasons a bit and toppers. The pink wants nude legs ( including nude hose though) while the navy might be easier to winterize.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, everyone! For the giggles, justifications, reasoning, and cheerleading ;)

CarolS and Column, thanks for the hair compliments! :)

unfrumped, not moving towards cooler pinks! Warm and acidic looks best, although I wear a cold white and navy well too. Won't Winterize this dress so nude hosiery and bare legs it is. Good versatility thoughts though, so thanks!

    If I keep ONE - I'm undecided.

Really like what Tanya, Suz and SarahD8 mentioned about possibly keeping both. I got the one for a song with Nordies notes which helps.

Full disclosure for JenniNZ. Greg loves both, but has a slight preference for the navy. If I keep both, Greg will be extra happy!

    Sleeping on it...

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

Very nice. In pic 1 I feel the glasses frames especially pop in the navy.
I still can’t believe I might be suggesting navy over the fuchsia since I am obsessed with fuchsia lately…

  • LaPed replied 1 year ago

I vote navy! It looks *amazing* with the blue glasses, and I think it highlights the new caramel notes in your hair so beautifully.

  • merwoman replied 1 year ago

    PINK! But why not both!

  • Bonnie replied 1 year ago

I think you've said that bright colors make you happy, so pink fills the bill!

  • rachylou replied 1 year ago

Oh man. Hard. I’d personally go navy for me… lol, so that says you should go pink ;)

  • nemosmom replied 1 year ago

I like both, but if it could be only one, I’d go navy!!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 year ago

Clearly you need a navy knit dress. And the pink is a happy color. So both is the answer.
I think you might get more mileage out of the navy. I can see it pairing with any of your shoe/bag complements. But then, you could and would mix pink with any of them, too. Honestly, I don't know what criteria to use for this decision.

  • Bijou replied 1 year ago

Pink! The perfect dress to wear on Valentines Day.

  • Debbie replied 1 year ago

my vote even though i am late to the party is both. if you decide to keep just one the navy. i love both on you but the navy is elegant! I have had that dress in my finds for a bit.
I am loving it the navy.

  • Joyce B replied 1 year ago

That is a nice problem to have. Like Sharan and Debbie, I like both dresses. Although they have the same cut, they look very different, so I would suggest keeping both. Navy is more elegant, pink is more fun, both are great finds.

  • Mary replied 1 year ago

    I love the pink one!

  • slim cat replied 1 year ago

Pink - feels very joyful and fresh! You look great in both of course but navy dress is a bit more classic and serious ;) .

  • Indigoprint replied 1 year ago

Cannot believe my choice but I vote PINK.

  • Kate replied 1 year ago

Pink, and your hair is looking beautiful.

  • AJ replied 1 year ago

If not both, then pink for the win! :)

  • Star replied 1 year ago

Pink - it lights you up.

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

The pink is a slam dunk. The navy looks nice but reads more basic/subdued. The pink is special.

  • Jen replied 1 year ago

I’m also going with pink! From the stock photo, would absolutely have said navy, but the actual pink on you is wonderfully 80s and likely more versatile than it might appear.

  • Kathie replied 1 year ago

Pink! At least in the pictures, this particular shade of navy seems a bit lifeless on you. The pink is energizing and happy.

  • Inge replied 1 year ago

What a beautiful dress, Angie, and a perfect fit!!
Both look amazing (and if that is an option, my vote is to keep both:-)
If you only want to keep one of the two - and from these photos alone - I'm leaning towards the pink. Maybe it's the fabric, maybe it's different irl than in the photos, but the navy colour here seems to look a little "dull". I'd also be curious to see the navy dress with your string of pearls instead of the pearl pendant you are wearing here. I have a feeling that will add radiance too.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Thanks, everyone! Appreciate your thoughts.

The votes are VERY strongly in favour of the PINK :) Fun!

Sharan is 100%. For me and my style, the pink is as versatile as the navy since I remix clashing colours with ease.

Inge, here is the first pic of the navy dress with pearls! It was before I ordered the pink. Personally, I think the navy looks as good as the pink! In a different way. BOTH hit my happy spot! Leaning towards keeping both!

  • Debbie replied 1 year ago

Yes to keeping both. I love the navy with the pearls and shoes. Gorgeous as always!

  • Christina F. replied 1 year ago

Yes to pink, but really both.  That pink is way more stunning than the stock photo.

  • Inge replied 1 year ago

Thanks so much for indulging me and posting that photo, Angie! Love it with this strand of pearls:-) After looking at it some more, I agree: they DO both look fabulous, in their own special way. And they are going to be very versatile for you, I hope you keep both!!-)

  • replied 1 year ago

    Yes to keeping both :)

  • Jonesy replied 1 year ago

Sounds like you are leaning towards both, which seems like a wise choice :). I love both: The pink seems to photograph better (and is a ton of fun and looks gorgeous), but the navy looks equally fab in-person, I'm guessing.

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 1 year ago

    Pink!

  • mtnsofthemoon replied 1 year ago

Please, Please tell me you are going with PINK!!!

  • rebekahphoto replied 1 year ago

The shape is flattering, comfortable, elegant and the style is flexible to be styled in different ways... and for that price, I would get both! they are different enough

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Clearly you must keep them both. They really seem like different dresses with the color being the most outstanding feature in one and the silhouette in the other.

  • Karie replied 1 year ago

Pink! Hands down, the pink is my favorite.

  • Aquamarine replied 1 year ago

Oh the pink one for sure. But, if you can keep both, that would be perfect.

  • Gail replied 1 year ago

    BOTH for sure !

  • Laura replied 1 year ago

Love it when the answer is BOTH! FAB new dress and when it makes you happy - why not keep both!! The sleeve length, neckline, ruching - all perfect for you!

  • Star replied 1 year ago

Yay - as both suit you so well!

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

Yay!! But I must know - which was Greg's fave?

  • Allora replied 1 year ago

    Life is short. Keep both!

  • Cardiff girl replied 1 year ago

Yay!! That’s the way to go,enjoy both of them, they will probably fill slightly different niches in your wardrobe.

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Yay! That's the way to do it!

  • CarolS replied 1 year ago

Doing a happy dance for you, Angie! You will love both!!!

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

Certainly saves choosing, ha ha! You look fab in both so should get the wear.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Thanks, everyone!

    Jenni, exactly!

    Inge, :)

Suz, going with you're origina suggestion!

Helena, Greg loved both, but slightly preferred the navy.

Laura, Queen Dress has spoken, and now I am doubly reassured.

  • Vildy replied 1 year ago

Glad to hear! You're "picky" :D and it's hard to find things that are perfect for you, let alone two.  Wear in good health and happiness.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

You are right. Vildy! Thank you :)

And I'm getting a price adjustment on both dresses! MAJOR SCORE.

  • Nomad replied 1 year ago

I'm late but I'm so glad you're keeping both! The colors make them very different and both amazing on you. And a price adjustment! Bonus!

  • Isabel replied 1 year ago

oh boy ....isn't it funny. how the same dress in two different colors can give off such two completely different vibes?!   YAY to both !

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

I should have guessed based on his 2022 picks! Glad you're keeping both and looking forward to seeing them in action :D

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Thank you, everyone!

    The tags have been cut....

  • lyn67 replied 1 year ago

...Wow, love the hair sooooooo much!:-))) You have such a fab natural color, texture and desity- I love it the most at this moment from when you started growing it!!! WOW!! (YLF in both of these-absolutely smashing-happy you kept them, both!!!

  • rachylou replied 1 year ago
