WIW: Orange Oats with Blue

Worked with a client all day and wore this. My client meetings are very active because I move around and walk a lot. I get very stuck into cleaning out closets! I was super comfy thanks to fluid fits and happy feet :)

I LOVE wearing bright columns of colour. Here's texture-rich orange with faux leather pants and a cashmere jumper. I adore orange with some type of blue! Chose turquoise as the blue. Very old Furla matches my specs. Wooohooo! White pearls - always. Feel naked without them.

Tan textured herringbone classic coat over the top. All items are several seasons old except for the coat. That's new this year. I thought it a pretty match with my new honey hair!

Sam and Jo in good form, and supportive. They are wearing their orange collars to match.

Thanks for looking, and have a lovely weekend. xo

Update: Longer Hair & WiW

It's been 9 months of VERY slow hair growth from platinum blonde super short pixie, to longer hair in my natural darker blonde. I have no grey (yet). I had an extremely short fringe, that felt like it had stopped growing at one point. Good grief - I almost cut the whole lot off it was so tedious!

Patience has paid off. All of a sudden today, my hair feels LONGER. Sweet victory! Trim tomorrow to neaten the back. Still have several inches to go, so growing without colouring till the end of the year. Then we will see where we're at! Hubs Greg loves my natural colour and never wants me to colour my hair again. Nice to hear :)

It's been HOT in Seattle. Record breaking for six consecutive days. Our loft does not have a/c and the sun belting through two sides of 22ft high windows is relentless. I've been wearing my breeziest clothes, and it helps!

It's a bit cooler today, thankfully. I'm in a very casual outfit WFH, doing errands, and walking Sam and Jo. Sack dress, pearls, and sandals. So easy! It's rare that I wear sandals, but I'm thoroughly enjoying these classic and dainty white gladiators that I managed to get in a NARROW size to fit my low volume feet. They are made in Italy, excellent quality, fit well, and extremely comfy. I highly recommend them if you like a similar look. Comes in colours. I bat for Team Naked Nails, so well groomed feet and hands, but no nail polish.

Thanks for looking! Off to make lunch and walk the doggies. xo

Show Me Your Wardrobe-Animal-Anything! (Blouse Pics)

I got the L'Agence giraffe and zebra citron blouse on my birthday a few weeks ago, and wore it RIGHT AWAY.

Here are pics that hubs Greg took on the day. With our real animals in tow - eating treats we got at a fun new pet supply store a few blocks away from where we live. The blouse is much brighter than the stock photo. My favourite blouse of all time :)

Next set of pics: Sam with a new toy! Jo with an old toy! Jo contemplating life. Sam and Jo after their haircuts this morning.

A dear friend gave me a pair of socks with real pics of Sam and Jo! BEST socks ever. I love looking at them.

Show me your animal-anything! Insects, birds, and fish count. xo

FINALLY, my Fringe is Growing

It was very short in December - like 1.5 inches long. And now I'm here! Wooohooo! My slow growing hair is finally making progress, and I like my natural colour. Like not having to sit in the salon for hours too. Wearing it wavy most of the time. Pic taken a moment ago.

Also, for those who wanted to see my successfully altered TRR skirt - here it is! Wore it last week to shop with a client (excuse the bad store light). Seattle has had an AWFUL Spring. Coldest on record. So on went the sweater and boots with the skirt. But today is sunny and mild - very welcome - and in a dress :)

My RELAXED Tulle Looks (Pics): UPDATE at the end

My new navy tulle skirt is officially one of my favourite wardrobe items!

I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH! Major high happiness-factor. It might become a wardrobe essential  ;)

HAIR UPDATE: I had a trim this week, and my hair is finally one length on top. It took 5 months! I have the shortest of short bobs. My natural colour and wearing it wavy here. Now I can grow it out more easily.

I'm only scratching the surface of how I can wear the skirt. Messed around a bit at home with whatever I felt like combining. No planning. Sheer emotion, and had fun!

Denim, flats, shirts, sweaters, loafers, sneakers, crossbodies, and knit tops dress down the formal skirt.

Jo adds the very best affection and spunk to my look. Sam has retired  from forum modeling. He'd rather Zoom with hubs Greg!

Will debut one these outfits for dinner with friends in their home tonight. Haven't decided which. It's sunny and mild in Seattle for a change! Wooohooo!

Thanks for looking, and have a good weekend. xo

WIW: Dressed Now, and into Autumn

Here is the dress I bought in the Netherlands a few months ago, from a  Dutch brand called Kyra & Co. It was on deep discount, "last season", the only one left, and in my size. It fits in seamlessly with my style and the colour palette of my wardrobe. So I went for it. SCORE!

It's mesh, stretchy, soft, VERY comfy, versatile, A-line, midi, has pretty sleeves, and I can run around in it with doggies in tow. (The most important part ;) ). It's navy with blush, turquoise and white. That works in many of my capsules :)

I wore it for my Summer birthday in July with light blue shoes and bag when Seattle was having a very welcome cooler day in-between our brutal and smokey heatwaves. (First three pics). I add a little navy lace camisole for some pretty.

I'm also ready to wear it into Autumn with:

  • New NAS cream complement: combat boots and barrel bag
  • 15 year old cream leather jacket (bought in Canada for my 38th birthday)
  • Dark denim G-Star jacket
  • Boden Sweater jacket
  • 6 year old navy gilet (NAS 6 years ago)

The white, blush, navy, turquoise and denim capsules in my wardrobe are abundant so I can style the dress in many, many ways. I have a burgundy complement too.

LOVE MY DRESS! Thanks for looking. xo

Wi(w)W: BOSSILY Suited

Here is my new NAS Hugo Boss suit. Thanks to attentive Gryffin, I have the pants after three Nordies cancellations! I am grateful.

I have been waiting for this suit my whole life. It could not be MORE PERFECT. I absolutely LOVE everything about it!!! The fit, fabric, light neutral, pattern, weight, and silhouette are everything I want in a suit. Fluidly tailored, extremely comfortable, crease-resistant, and impeccable quality too.

I'll wear it in all sorts of ways - it's so versatile! - but these are the ways I want to wear it first. Light, trendy classic, soft, and simple.

I will just wear the suit - no occasion needed - just like I would wear dressy pants and a jacket....only these match! As long as I can comfortably walk and pick up our doggies, do errands on foot, and get on with my day, I am good to go. Remember that I live in a loft in the city and walk doggies several times a day in the city - not a dog park. That makes a difference.

Look #1 - dressiest with boots and shirt

Look #2 - classic with sweater and loafers

Look #3 - Sporty Luxe and relaxed with fashion sneakers

New cream NAS loafers and bag complement in action too.

VERY HIGH HAPPINESS-FACTOR :)

I will wear this suit for decades. Thanks for looking. xo

Lots of WIWs: Trendy Classic Colour & Pattern

It's been a while. Life with a puppy and new sibling for Yorkie Sam is beautifully rich, full and hectic. I wouldn't have it any other way :)

Seattle has had its fair share of great Spring and Summer weather. It's been hot, warm, mild and cool, which you will see reflected in the layers and fabrics of these outfits. Sunny, cloudy, and wet.

Fully vaccinated, I am cautiously working with clients in-person again, so extra busy. I am not complaining!

I LOVE Spring and Summer dressing and shopping! My favourite.

I LOVE fluidly tailored outfits. Can't handle too much, or too little structure. The balance is deliberate and I am very fussy about it. My outfits must move and flow, but be tailored in all the right places. Waving to Jonesy, Katerina, Slim Cat and Irina, who feel similarly about their own fluidly tailored outfits!

I LOVE to wear modern classics in unexpected colours and combinations, and remix them with fun-to-me trends.

I LOVE to remix my new and old wardrobe items, and create current combinations. Waving to Tanya!

I walk everywhere, and do errands in all sorts of weather - with doggies in tow. Absolutely no heels. No sandals either. Prefer my feet protected for my urban walking lifestyle. Fashion sneakers and crossbody bag most of the time, but boots, ballet flats and loafers are great too.

My soft edge comes from my hair and eyewear. Waving to Suz! I straightened my hair for a change. I prefer it soft and wavy, but like this too. No more lipstick or tinted moisturizer. I am embracing my uneven skin tone, and natural lip colour - and feel great about it.

I saw a client in fashion sneakers last week, and it was okay. I prefer a dressier shoe for client appointments though. I will see how it goes. I really need to save my feet if I want to continue with my walk everywhere lifestyle. Fashion sneakers are best for my feet.

Three new dresses and all on deep discount! *happy dance*

Trendy white relaxed straight jeans, and a scarf that is a twinset match with the roomy linen shirt.

I take pics downstairs in our loft at the end so that you get a better sense of the colours, since the light is gorgeous down there. Sam and Jo joined me :)

Thanks for looking xo

p.s. VERY into patterns on this leg of my style journey.

WiWs: LOTS of Denim Skirt Action

It's finally mild enough to wear my new G-Star denim skirt, and I LOVE IT!

It's the best denim skirt I've ever had, and I've had many. Beautiful quality, fab white stitching, sustainably and ethically manufactured, fluidly A-line so that I can move around fast on errands with Sam in tow, and very comfy. It totally stays put and does not slide around because it fits well and has zero stretch! Greg remarked on how fab he thought it was too :)

I documented a little outfit creation session because there have been many skirt-outfit questions this year. Maybe these visuals will help, since none of the tops are tucked, apart from the first funnel neck which is semi-tucked.

Personally, I like shorter tops and toppers with skirts. Fits are fluid or very fluid:

  1. Short funnel neck (not a hoodie!)
  2. Short shirts with CURVED hems that add structure
  3. Polo top with a welt, or what others call a banded bottom, that hints at a waist
  4. Shorter toppers lengthen the leg line since I don't wear heels.

*Sneaker and loafer complement variations that work with the palettes of the outfits.

*Remix of old and new items ALWAYS. I make sure I can wear my new with my old because it gives me satisfaction. For example, the short neon coat is 9 years old. The Furlas are four and five years old.

* I wore the two funnel neck outfits today. Started off with the light blue, and moved to the neon because I needed more insulation. Very windy by the water!

Some personal observations:

  • No pearls or patterns for a change!
  • I feel very Dutch in these looks! Dutch G-Star plus blue/white combinations with practical shoes will do that for you.
  • My COVID pixie is becoming addictive. It's such an easy wash and go, although I know my look is softer and nicer with a long fringe that waves. But I love the convenience of this style, and might have to hold onto it for longer. Getting lazy with my hair ;)
  • We are expecting amazing Spring weather next week, so I'll be  wearing the non-topper versions then.

Jab #1 of Pfizer done. Jab #2 on April 28. No side effects other than a stiff arm for 36 hrs. Life is looking up.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy Friday! xo

WIWs: Candy Boiled Bubblegum

*Excuse the bad light in my bedroom. It's put a yellow glare on the top part of the boiler suit and my face. That's why I add pics from the perfect light downstairs. Accurate colours, but no mirror.

I absolutely LOVE my new wildcard boiler suit! It's soooo comfy and easy! Everthing stays put and there's zero fuss. I feel great in it! Now I get why people are into the right jumpsuit vibe. I want a white one too...

No loo issues, and here's why:

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....t-epiphany

Hubs Greg loves the boiler suit, which surprises me because it's pink and not blue denim. Bonus!

I've wanted one in pink or red since I was 15 years old in 1985. Now I have one at 50 in 2021. All good things come to those who wait ;)

LOTS of iterations here, and I've worn the ones with the coats - not the jackets (yet). We have cool Springs, and because I am always on foot and live by the water where it's colder and windier - I have to wrap up. I'll wear the jacket versions soon. Wearing knee-highs for insulation.

LOTS of different sneaker and bag combinations. Every item is old or very old apart from the new boiler suit.

I like the look best without toppers. Sneakers, pearls, crossbody, Sam - and I'm done. But you know, I have to wrap up for now if I don't want to wait till May or June to wear the suit :)

My Custom-Hi-Tops are AMAZING. Workhorses, and the best item I have ever had custom-made:

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....om-hi-tops

Thanks for looking, and happy to be back on Team Jumpsuit with other Fabbers! xo
