WIW: Relaxed Spring Oldies

(For JenniNZ and others, who enjoy seeing older wardrobe items in action on the forum!)

It's a STUNNING and sunny 22C in Seattle! Clear, perfect, and not humid.

I am WFH all day, as well as running quick errands on foot and doggie walking. This is an example of a very casual outfit. And most of my favourite types of things, in one outfit!!!

  • white wide cropped jeans - 6 yrs
  • linen shirt - 3 years
  • sneakers - 3 years (Jo has chewed the laces, which is why they look obnoxious)
  • denim jacket - 10 years (it has pretty embroidered flowers on it that make me smile!)
  • Furla - 3 years
  • Baby White Pearls - knotted and cannot remember how old....

This is a very classic ME-look. I have been wearing a version of it since I was a teen in the early '80s:

white jeans, tucked classic shirt, fashion sneakers, denim jacket, structured bag, pearls. I AM IN MY HAPPY PLACE :)

*waving at my shirt and white jeans style sisters!*

Unless I am at the beach with Yorkies Sam and Jo - this is as casual as I go.

Hair is straight, and creating quite the nostalgic affection from old friends and family who have seen me wear this hair decades ago. Their excitement has been unexpected!

Thanks for looking. Have lots of work to do. Back much later. xo

Perfect look! Love the pretty shirt - all my favorite colors together ;-) .
    Enjoy your beautiful spring day!

  • Dee replied 1 year ago

These oldies but goodies look so pretty together and I love how you’ve looped your pearl necklace too. I can’t believe your white wide crops are 6 years old, they look completely current. Your idea of casual is just fab.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Slim cat, you are sweet! Thanks!

Dee, thanks! I am an early adopter with trendy bottoms, so that's why the jeans are old....yet on trend :) ....I am MUCH more classic up top.

.......got to get back to work.....

  • Star replied 1 year ago

Just FAB!!  Love the casual vibe that is a bit preppy.  I am really leaning into this look lately.  Well I will be when it eventually warms up here.  Still a coolness in the air and day temperatures hovering around 15/16 degrees.  Your hair is just getting better and better.

  • Cardiff girl replied 1 year ago

Relaxed spring oldies, you could be describing describing me and hubbie!
A really lovely, pretty ,fresh spring outfit.l really like the pink sneakers chewed laces or not.

  • rachylou replied 1 year ago

Very pretty! I don’t recall this jacket. I can’t believe it’s 22 degrees up there. Hail is in the forecast here. Hail!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Star, YES. Every few months, my hair looks a little better as it grows into said style. I like preppy style too!

Cardiff Girl, thanks for the BIG CHUCKLE :)

    Rachy, puffy for the hail!

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous, Angie! You look spectacular in this fresh spring oldies outfit! Love it all.

  • ChristelJ replied 1 year ago

Amazing how current your oldies look! It is very gratifying to see how you cherish and mix your older pieces. Just lovely! And your hair is divine.
I remember that terrific RL shirt. I was going to get the same shirt in a different pattern but hesitated too long, and I still think about the one that got away...

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 year ago

Super cute casual style, Angie. Of course the last photo is the BEST.

  • replied 1 year ago

Good-looking spring colors with soft and pretty textures! Preppy with a side of romance. Enjoy the sun :)

  • Katerina replied 1 year ago

Perfection! You look gorgeous in your "oldies". I especially admire the denim jacket - looks so current and fun. Love the hairstyle too!
By the way - 3 years old "oldies" would be my "new items" - :-) :-)
Especially when the pandemics slowed everything down - I have quite a few pre-pandemic purchases which are still "brand new" to me.

  • Style Fan replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous, Angie!  I remember this denim jacket.  I almost bought it.  Now I wish I did.  Your white jeans look so good.  Everything is fabulous.

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Super fresh , pretty , and genuine looking . If that makes any sense , haha.

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 year ago

Lovely! Thank you! The colours of the shirt are so pretty. And the sneakers don’t look “obnoxious”!
I am with Katerina though, 3 years is quite new to me. Remember I still wear a bright coloured knit from 1986 :)

  • Ket replied 1 year ago

Wowee, Angie!!! it’s amazing to see how older pieces look so timeless and current—truly your signature style.

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

You look so fresh and pretty in your “oldies”. I like you hair best . You look so young. Love the colors. They scream “SPRING “. We are getting tiny leaves on the trees now. I hope they do not freeze again. The tulips and daffodils are just now putting on a wonderful display. The neighbor’s apple trees are starting to bloom too. It gets below freezing most nights and gets warm in the afternoon then the temperature drops quickly when the sun goes down behind the mountains. It is hard to dress in the cold morning for the heat of the day, then cold again. Layers make sense.

  • Bonnie replied 1 year ago

Love your oldie casual style. You are perfectly dressed for a lovely spring day and your hair is looking great!

  • aloha emily replied 1 year ago

    So pretty!

  • Helena replied 1 year ago

    Fab outfit Angie!

Your makeup! You are glowing (more than usual ;) ) ... is it a new lippie?

  • replied 1 year ago

Jealous of your weather! Cold and rainy here :(
Love the hair growout and great palette for spring!

  • sabimct replied 1 year ago

Love these pictures - thanks for sharing!

I find this super useful - inspiration and some validation too!

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

You are a ray of happiness!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks soooo much for the kind words! Appreciate them, as well as the giggles  :)

Sorry to run - work is calling. But a swift reply:

Katerina and JenniNZ, YES! I understand! New and old is subjective and relative. I tend to think of items as new when I bought them this season. Anything that is last season or several seasons ago is: not new, older, old, or very old. Hope that makes sense ;)

Helena, I don't wear lipstick anymore. Just tinted lip balm! I have a bit of gloss on here - that I got for free with my brow pencil. Tried it!

ChristalJ and Style Fan, something better will come along!

Suz, waving to my shirt style sister! We like our PREP.

Sharan, Sam and Jo amp up my style.

Suntiger, Joy and bonnie, thanks for the hair love :)

  • Tanya replied 1 year ago

So pretty, and modern classic in the best way.  Jo is as adorable as ever.

  • Debbie replied 1 year ago

Your hair is stunning. I love the classic relaxed look of this. You look amazing!

  • kellygirl replied 1 year ago

Just gorgeous! Vibrant and fresh although the pieces may be oldies to you!

  • Kate replied 1 year ago

I love this look on you. Very fresh and springlike.

Looking great Angie- very happy and healthy and I love seeing older faves still in action.

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Beautiful look and it is hard to believe those pristine and very current looking jeans are 6 years old! #8 is my favorite - doggy love!

  • Brooklyn replied 1 year ago

    Super pretty! And very Spring!

  • Irina replied 1 year ago

Beautiful and summery! So glad it’s finally warmer in Seattle. Enjoy!

  • Cee replied 1 year ago

I'm getting Dame Edna ( RIP, Barry ) vibes from the glasses and LOL at the doggy kiss photo :D

  • Olive Green replied 1 year ago

Love the doggie accessories! Pearls and puppers!
This is 100% my basic everyday outfit, actually. Including dogs… And my stuff is pretty much 3 to 4 years old on average, wovens last longer than t shirt material on me.
The difference would be in the colours, and I don’t seem to do patterns, they hit the donate bag after a couple experimental wears. Those things make such a difference in style and expression that your style sings, and mine kind of hums quietly, lol.
This is why people watching is so interesting, details are everything.
Thanks for the share, you do look fab!

  • The Cat replied 1 year ago

Love your classic relaxed outfit and would happily wear all these items. Lovely colours. I wore similar multi-coloured checked shirts in the '70s and '80s. It would be fun to find and wear another one these days.

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

    Lovely as always!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Oh my word! Thanks for the awfully kind comments. Sorry to leave you hanging...

Olive Green, "pearls and puppers" - LOVE THAT!!! High five to our similar outfit formula :)

Tanya, Debbie and The Cat, we like our modern classics. HIGH FIVE!

  • Bijou replied 1 year ago
