OOTD: Mustard & Ice

This is what I'm wearing today. At home. Nowhere to go but walk Sam four times a day.

Both of our old Dads are very far away. One in Europe and one in Africa. We speak to them daily, and they are in very good spirits despite it all. Inspiring, brave, and amazing men. I'm in awe.

Washington state in the USA - (where Seattle is) - is successfully flattening its COVID 19 curve thanks to excellent local state leadership and early social distancing compliance. I'm hopeful. Today was a better day! I'm calm, positive, energized and productive. I even wore lipstick.

I never plan what I wear unless I travel. I base my outfit entirely on my mood and the weather when I choose it in the morning. Today I wanted to wear a skirt!  So I chose my mustard velvet skirt with matching Boden shirt. Wearing velvet in the Spring - why not? :)

Needed to crisp up the mustard with BLUE because I'm not an earthy gal, although I wear earth tones.

Bonus: My new light blue sneakers have not been outside yet, so I can wear them at home for a while. WOOHOOO! Another pair of AT HOME ONLY shoes.

I am extremely comfortable in this outfit - pantyhose and all! The bias cut skirt MOVES and my top is fluid. I layered a thick Heattech tee under the shirt for warmth. I clean, cook, work, walk Sam, watch tele, and do everything else in this outfit - accept my workout in the early morning which has me in yoga gear.

Two toppers here. The light blue was not warm enough for outside. Chose ten year old navy military coat later. I prefer the light blue! I want a light blue wool coat......post pandemic.

Thanks for looking. xo

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of you in this skirt , and it’s glorious ! What a great outfit , and kudos to you for wearing what makes you happy at home . Love the Boden shirt with it too . That BR fuzzy jacket is probably the one spring piece I regret not having purchased - but , oh well :)

Another winner, Angie. It has been grey here today, so you really are a ray of sunshine!

  • Diana replied 2 months ago

Ooh, so pretty and cheerful! I would never have thought to pair these two colors together!

  • JP replied 2 months ago

That's a great outfit, Angie.  I like that color combo.  That Boden shirt is so much brighter than the catalog pictures.  I'm glad both your Dads are in good spirits :)

So pretty - love the light blue with bright yellow! Fab Sam in #7 :) .

  • hereforthecake replied 2 months ago

So pretty! Love that colour on you.

(Although the idea of wearing panty hose sounds about as comfortable as a noose!)

  • Runcarla replied 2 months ago

You are a ray of sunshine, Angie!

  • Eliza replied 2 months ago

    Love this!

  • Sal replied 2 months ago

Stunning look on you Angie!!  Gorgeous.

I prefer the dark coat - but that is not surprising since I adore mustard and navy together..........one  of my favourite combinations.

  • rachylou replied 2 months ago

Are the top and skirt meant as a set? They’re spectacular together!

  • Karie replied 2 months ago

Such a cheerful ray of sunshine! And hooray for another pair of house shoes.

Glad to hear Seattle is flattening the curve. So far NY is not. They say the next two weeks may be the worst yet. I am sanitizing everything daily.

  • Debbie replied 2 months ago

Fabulous love the colors! You inspire me to get dressed up tomorrow. I have been reorganizing my house so my stay at home outfits have been sweats and joggers.

  • SarahD8 replied 2 months ago

Wow, and I was so proud of myself for putting on a pair of earrings today!

I really like the faux-two-piece-dress vibe here. I notice the untucked, standard length top works with the skirt when it matches closely. (Prob also bc the skirt is narrow, no?) I am taking notes bc this would be a comfortable look for me

  • anne replied 2 months ago

I love what the pale blue does for the mustard.

My sympathies for your situation with your parents. So hard having them so far away.

We'll done to Seattle and so sorry about New York.

  • Joyce B replied 2 months ago

    Lovely outfit.
Good for Seattle. My DD works in a NYC hospital. Everyone is scrambling for PPE which is almost impossible to find. I made her face shields out of supplies from Staples.

  • shevia replied 2 months ago

A sunny day with a light blue sky. I cannot cook with my nice clothes on. Oil spots everywhere. Another of your superpowers Angie! So glad you live somewhere the local government knows how to govern. Much sympathy and empathy regarding your Dads, glad they are doing well!

    Such a beautiful happy look!

    You are bright and beautiful.

  • Gigi replied 2 months ago

You look amazing in this color combination! So cheerful!

Waving to my skirt twin :)

  • bonnie replied 2 months ago

You look amazing. Why not wear a skirt at home? I wear a couple of my dresses in warmer weather. Mustard/yellow looks fab with your coloring.

  • notsaf replied 2 months ago

*Almost* summery! So glad you had a good day, Angie.

  • Bijou replied 2 months ago

Your mustard is such a bright mustard, stunning on you. I happily wear hosiery at home, I just have never found it uncomfortable.

  • Star replied 2 months ago

Looking fabulous!  And, gosh, Sam is just so darn cute!!

  • kkards replied 2 months ago

Wow that color is fab on you.  Love the matchy matchy  2 piece dressing look.

  • Inge replied 2 months ago

The light blue with the mustard is divine, Angie! And love this column of colour! All gorgeous pieces on their own, and even more fab as a whole!
(Bless your Dad and Greg's Dad!)

  • Janet replied 2 months ago

My dogs would have that skirt destroyed in two minutes. LOL

    You look gorgeous as always.

And here I was all proud that yesterday after my two-hour walk and a shower that I actually put on real jeans and a real sweater (cobalt blue V-neck), and even added a necklace and earrings. I even blow-dried my hair. But still no makeup. I am definitely a lump of non-energy next to you! ;-) LOL

  • JAileen replied 2 months ago

Super fun outfit with beautiful colors.  Sam is a living doll.

  • suntiger replied 2 months ago

So glad your new boss encourages your daily sunny outfit posts :) Love the happy yellow, and yes you need a light blue coat!
I shouldv'e bought that skirt too!

  • Jane replied 2 months ago

    The new boss looks tired!

    You look stunning!

So pleased your fathers are in good spirits.

  • nemosmom replied 2 months ago

Such a sunny, springy outfit, Angie! Your skin is positively RADIANT - what is your secret?!?!?

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thank you, soooo much, ladies. Really appreciate the kind and sweet words.

Jaime, REALLY hope your MIL is managing with a support structure. Much love to you. xo

Joyce B, my heart goes out to you big time. BLESS YOU BOTH. I am in awe of DD, and wish her the very best. She has an amazing Mama in you. Much to you too. xo

Sorry. Have to run! Back later...

  • Jenn replied 2 months ago

Curve is flattening here, too. It's good reason to hope, even if we're not through the peak quite yet.

With your happy outfits, colorful home, and adorable pup, you could be in a magazine spread!

  • Laurie replied 2 months ago

Like Janet, I'm feeling pretty proud of the fact I'm in denim, not yoga pants, and I styled my hair..so this is all just beyond amazing, Angie. I have to say that the wow moment for me was when the navy coat went on top of the yellow, and with the light blue.

Parents at a distance are my current biggest concern and challenge. But mine are not as far as your Dads. Hugs.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Jenn, what a sweet thing too say. Thank you :)

CA and WA have had similar gov strategies and excellent state leadership - and it's WORKING.

Laurie, YAY you. And light blue is very versatile!

  • cindysmith replied 2 months ago

This outfit is summer skies without the oppressive heat and humidity. Perfection!

  • Suz replied 2 months ago

Mustard and blue are brilliant on you. You're a Van Gogh painting of a summer's day. I love the light blue accessories with the dark blue coat and the golden tones of the top/ skirt. Perfection and so happy looking!

  • Flytigress replied 2 months ago

Cute x 2!  Sam looks like an adorable tiny fox!

  • Style Fan replied 2 months ago

Gorgeous as always.  Yellow and blue are lovely together.

  • lyn67 replied 2 months ago

YLF Angie, the outfit is so really springy and sunny-love it with the light blue pops!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thank you ALL, for your awfully sweet comments. They make a difference!

  • elpgal replied 2 months ago

Such a fun silhouette, Angie! Having parents far away is tough. Hang in there!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

elpgal, you are sweet. Thank you.

  • kellygirl replied 2 months ago
