OOTD: Fuchsia Sunset

This is what I'm wearing today. At home in Seattle, in our 4th week of the STAY AT HOME order. I'm taking Sam out a few times a day, and grocery shopping every 2 weeks.

I'm glued to the news, and remain calm and in control by amping up news time as opposed to limiting news time. I'm uplifted by the positive stories, and reduced to tears by the mind blowing devastation. It's an ongoing emotional roller coaster.

Pandering to my mood, I needed a simple and strong outfit today. I chose a Boden top and bottom - which feels extra good since the company is doing a great job of supporting the NHS in the UK. The rest of the items followed the colour palette.

It feels odd wearing cropped skinnies now that I'm almost exclusively in wide bottoms. But I love the colour and they fit well, so I'll keep on wearing them.

You may have noticed that I bat for Team Puffy Sleeves....fably '80s!

The usual: Styled hair, make-up, at-home-only-sneakers, knee-highs for warmth, and getting on with the tasks, work, and chores of the day IN my pretty clothes! It empowers me somehow, keeps me positive, and continues to give me hope.

CEO Sam might be done with modelling for a while........he retreated to his scatter cushions after this photo session :)

Thanks for looking. I'm off to make sticky Indonesian date cake. After that I’m vacuuming, sanitizing, and walking Sam. xo

I have always loved this color scheme.   You are radiant.  I am impressed you only go shopping every two weeks.  That is some impressive meal planning.  As well - frozen veggies?  How do you do it?

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Denise, how lovely of you to chime in from quarantine with Buddy! Thanks :)

To answer your question, check out my comments on this thread. FWIW, I have a plan and strategy, and so far it's working for us:

  • Sal replied 2 years ago

Sam is looking a bit shy isn't he.........fair enough, there is additional pressure being CEO.

You look radiant as always.  The cake sounds delicious:)

  • slim cat replied 2 years ago

Fab outfit - great with your eyewear! I'd call your skinny jeans - "slim" and it's perfect fit!
Poor Sam who was working around the clock this week and deserves some alone time to recharge and go back to being CEO of the company :) .

I love these colors together! And Sam is as adorable as ever in his pillows.

  • Karie replied 2 years ago

One of my favorite color combinations! Sam is adorable as always.

  • mtnsofthemoon replied 2 years ago

Love this color combo too!! And that coat is beautiful!! Your outfits are so uplifting and I so appreciate your playful poses. Thank you - you make me smile

As awesome as you look in Fuschia Sunset, my favorite photo is the last one with CEO Sam and his pillow friends. I am smiling from ear to ear.

When does CEO Sam have time to do needlepoint? The pillows are adorable.  Your lush colors are gorgeous on you.

This is my idea of a polished at-home look , and like Denise , I’ve always loved this colour combo . Thanks for sharing your daily looks - it’s become something to really look forward to . Do you do the needlework yourself ? I’ve got three new projects lined up and ready to go too !

  • smittie replied 2 years ago

Thanks for making me smile :-)
    I love this combination.

I am in love with this color blocking. It's happy and makes me think of fruits and Sunshine and sub-tropical locales :-D

  • JAileen replied 2 years ago

I love this.  It reminds me of Mexico.

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

This is such a brilliant combination. Your brights are enough to make a person smile, even in these times!!! They're lucky in your neighbourhood to get to see you and Sam on the prowl!

  • Jaime replied 2 years ago

The color combination, especially once you add the coat, is just stunning. It actually reminds me of sunset in Sinai where the mountains look red, something I experienced many years ago. Thank you for sharing your outfits - I also love the descriptions of the emotions that lead to them.

  • Diana replied 2 years ago

I always love this color combo! Such a happy look. :)

  • bonnie replied 2 years ago

You've inspired me to up my at home style. I'm bringing out my "saved for good" outfits starting tomorrow starting with my scattered dot tunic.

  • Bijou replied 2 years ago

Such a happy colour combination, I love it. It reminds me of Suntiger’s outfits, she wears these colours beautifully too. Thank you so much for your daily posts which never fail to make me smile. CEO Sam has come up with some great initiatives and is quite the media star too.

@Bonnie - your tunic is beautiful, so glad you will be wearing it tomorrow.

Gorgeous colour combo.  My favourite pic is also the one of CEO Sam and pillows.  If my memory is correct you once said that the pillows were from Paris.  I have one Samoyed pillow.

  • lyn67 replied 2 years ago

I never wore these 2 colors together, but is so radiantly strong, juicy and inspiring!

I love my wide bottoms, too- but similar to you will  continue to wear my cropped skinnies (till they'll fit me)-as still love the outfits constructed aroung them.

  • Staysfit replied 2 years ago

Happy Colors!  I love to see emotional brights instead of calm neutrals. You glow when wearing them!  Stay safe and healthy!  It sounds like CEO Sam is vying for a bonus treat!

  • suntiger replied 2 years ago

Love it, of course! And thanks Bijou :) But I borrowed the idea from Angie!

  • kkards replied 2 years ago

90s color flash back! Love.  I’m sure you brighten up every one who saw you safely from 6 feet away.

  • Helena replied 2 years ago

Love this, and I agree with Lisa, I look forward to your outfit every day.

    I really love that sweater!

  • Preppy Pear replied 2 years ago

Just so much happiness in this outfit. Thank you!

Also, my own home hasn’t been this clean since I was finishing my dissertation, LOL.

  • Christina F. replied 2 years ago

I haven't been posting much but I've followed along with your outfits. They are day brighteners, especially this one, so THANK YOU.

  • Windchime replied 2 years ago

Thanks for brightening our day with that fab color combo, Angie!  And seeing Sam the CEO is always delightful.

  • Lesley replied 2 years ago

Love it! Those colors together are right up my alley too!

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

You inspire me to bring on the brights with your colour-on-colour outfits.

  • smittie replied 2 years ago

I also really like your needlepoint pillows.
Sam is a cutie too :-)

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Lots of love for the palette. I'm surprised!

Thank you ALL for the awfully kind words. They help and are much appreciated. Sam and I are blushing.....

Sal, it's stressful being CEO. Lots of paid playtime...

Slimcat, they ARE more slim than skinny - you are right!

Peggy, Lisa P and Smittie, Sam did the Yorkie needlepoint. Not my thing :)

    Carla and bonnie, happy dance!

Suntiger, the palette made me think of you....

Suz, Jaime, Mtnsofthemoon, you are most gracious ladies.

Christina F, good to see you chime in! HANG IN THERE.

What a happy outfit! Is Sam looking at something on your phone? Our dog watches TV once in a while. Small dogs are really tuned in.
