WIWs: RED and Christmassy!

Here are three recent WiW's (in the last 5 days). I bat for Team Red!

It was sunny, dry, and frosty in Seattle last week. Cold! Remember I'm outside braving the elements on foot ALL THE TIME. I walk almost everywhere. I need to wrap up.

This week is much wetter and warmer.

All outfit items are old and VERY old - apart from the new big brushed scarf, cream Coach bag, and red specs.

The Valentino is 15 years old!I put a cream guitar strap on it to refresh its look. I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH!!!

#1 to #4: At the Seattle Christmas Market!

#5: Rudolf without the red nose, comes out to play :)

#6: Holiday China is used daily!

#7 to #10: Shopping with a client at U-Village. At Anthropolgie. Match their macarons! Love wearing red with Dutch orange and cream!

#11 to #14: What I'm wearing now, to WFH, have the car we seldom drive serviced, run errands, and walk doggies - and I got wet. Keeping it real! Hair all over the place....

#15: I wore this yesterday to shop with hubs. Same as today, but with a dressy coat. Yes, I repeat outfits!

TWO YEARS OF HAIR GROWTH! Natural colour.

Giving my wardrobe a big grateful hug!

Thanks for looking! xo

Oh yes! Here are the FINDS:

  • Jenni NZ replied 4 months ago

You look so cute Angie! Are those macarons just for show? I guess so in a fashion store. You do match them and look good enough to eat!
I like your Christmas dishes as well xx

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks, sweet Jenni! I know you bat for Team Red with me :)

The macarons are made of cardboard and polystyrene. Not very palatable ;)

  • merwoman replied 4 months ago

So beautifully chrismassy! Your hair is looking amazing Angie, so thick and shiny! Love all the colour combos, so vibrant!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Merwoman, appreciate the kind words and hair affection! 2 years of hair growth, and you get how tedious that was! Finally, looking decent. Not that thick, but in great condition :)

  • Sal replied 4 months ago

Oh I love the outfits especially the first one. So festive and cosy!!

Your Christmas crockery is wonderful too.

  • Laura replied 4 months ago

I am (almost) beyond words in my excitement to see Miss Angie in red! It’s the last outfit - striped sweater, 80s button front jeans and MS. VALENTINO updated with a guitar strap! — that has me gasping in delight! Breathtaking. Let the holiday season begin!

  • Suz replied 4 months ago

You certainly do bat for Team Red, and you do it in glorious style! These outfits are so much fun. Just a colourful feast for the eyes!

LOVE to see the Valentino coming out to play and doesn't it look grand with the new strap?! Great idea, as it also makes it more comfortable.

I love every one of these outfits. The last one is fun because it's great to see these older items come out to play, updated and refreshed by being worn with different footwear and in different combinations than you might have tried in the past.

Your hair is looking glorious. And so are those red specs!

  • Janet replied 4 months ago

Such happy photos! You look smashing in red!

  • pirouette replied 4 months ago

Lovely seasonal outfits. I love your hair it really looks so healthy and glossy.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanls, Sal! Cosy is Queen in Winter.....along with dopamine colours ;)

Laura! As the person who made Ms. Valentino mine 15 years ago - it's magical you chimed in! I can't love my bag MORE than I do. Thank you, again, for the best style gift of my life. I will have this wardrobe pet forever, and it will always be a prized possession!

And, had to tickle our '80s gene......

  • Laura replied 4 months ago

That 80s gene is still going strong and so is Ms. Valentino. How is she 15 years old already?

Was it 2022 when your WOTY was change? I love how you’ve embraced it! And I’m already working on my word and color for 2024!

  • lyn67 replied 4 months ago

Wow, love the MS. VALENTINO updated with a guitar strap!!!! And all reds look fab on You Angie +the dutch orange and cream---a real delish! Your coats  and the cream boots are trully K2K!

  • Eliza replied 4 months ago

Angie! Thank you for sharing; seeing you embrace the meaning if festive so thoroughly and beautifully lit up this gray New England day. Inspirational.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks, Janet! Red makes me happy. One of my "neutrals" ;)

Thanks, Suz! As a member of Team Red, the colour makes you smile! I am LOVING the modern and comfy guitar strap on my old Valentino. It amps things up, AND dresses things down. Perfect for this leg of my style journey. As for refreshing old items by wearing them in new ways, and with the odd new accessory - it's one of the most fun parts of the style jigsaw puzzle, IMO!

Pirouette, appreciate the hair affection. YES! The condition of my hair is tops at the moment. It took a while!

  • Ket replied 4 months ago

You always look so fresh and sparkly! Loooooove everything about these outfits, Angie! You have always made me wish I was a spring hehe <3 xoxo and your pups are cute as ever!

  • Inge replied 4 months ago

Red really is your colour, Angie!! You look stunning in all of these!!!

You matching with the macarons cracks me up:-)

The holiday china is super cute, but nothing beats the cuteness factor or Sam and Jo, of course!

And Miss Valentino came out to play, woohoo!! Sooo good with the guitar strap!!

Oh, and I love the disco vibe you have going on in the jeans with striped jumper outfit!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Laura! CHANGE is my word for 2023, and I have milked it! I've written the post for word and colour of the year for 2024 already! Nailed it down last week - and eager to hear yours :)

Lyn67 and Eliza, your gracious words are a gift! "A real delish" has me laughing, and inspiring you, is therapeutic,

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Inge, thank you my sweet, dear friend! Stripes just for you, Sam and Jo send tail wags and kisses, and go Team DISCO! We need to wear red together :)

Ket, your kind and generous words make me smile. Thank you!

  • Dee replied 4 months ago

Holy smokes you are really rock’in the red, just soo.. good. It must be a total delight to see these outfits in person, just so much bold colour and  patterns and textures all blended together creating a harmonious whole, its little wonder you’re a fashion stylist,

  • Runcarla replied 4 months ago

This really puts me in a festive mood!  The macaroons photo is my favourite, though I love those jeans with all my heart and am happy to see you still have them!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 4 months ago

These looks are so fun and beautiful, Angie. You look merry, festive, and bright!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Dee, that's high praise, and I'm blushing! Thank you for being gracious. My toes are tickled!

Carla, your favourite jeans are in good knick! Old, and fab.

Sharan, you are lovely, and I can hear you break into song ;)

  • Irina replied 4 months ago

You look awesome! Also, very seasonal :)

  • AJ replied 4 months ago

So much red fabulousness!!  I did not think that red and orange solids could look good together, but you have proved me wrong with your special styling magic!  YLF!

The fur babies are so cute!!

Rats, I was hoping the macarons were ottoman poufs!  :)

  • kkards replied 4 months ago

    The red specs!  Soooo fab!

The red with orange, I would never have thought they would work together, but they do and so well.
And I love the Xmas plates!

  • Bonnie replied 4 months ago

Love your red outfits! Red with orange is a bold combination but you make it work beautifully. #12 is my favorite but they all look great.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks, Irina! Got to get our festive jollies in when we can.

AJ and kkards, red and orange are close together on the colour wheel so they work well to my eye :) Appreciate the kind words, and lovely to see you chime in!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

bonnie, thanks for being gracious as always! I can see you rock my fluid aviator :)

  • Jaime replied 4 months ago

Wow, the Christmas market is just the perfect backdrop for you as the Christmas Angel! Red is smashing on you - thank you for the holiday cheer!

  • rachylou replied 4 months ago

Your plates match your reds and blues! Too much fun! :)

  • Bijou replied 4 months ago

So lovely to see you wearing my favourite jeans in #11 - 15! Red is gorgeous on you, a perfect colour and not just for the holiday season.

  • Sisi replied 4 months ago

I am speechless - you look so fabulous in all the outfits. The idea of changing the strap to the bag is genius. I love your dishes, and as always your doggies look adorable!

  • replied 4 months ago

:) And I don't think I've seen you driving before!

  • Inge replied 4 months ago

Angie - Ooooh yes!! That will be fun! I'm thinking my striped Esprit jumper:-)

  • Olive Green replied 4 months ago

Been out of town and late to the Christmas party, but the energy in number 11 made me laugh. Very youthful and very you. Appreciate all the photos, I love hot colours.

  • sabimct replied 4 months ago

Angie - I enjoyed these photos so much. Thanks for sharing!

Of course I mean this in a totally non-creepy way - but I really study the photos.  Particularly the ones where you are showing an outfit.  Seeing how you put it all together both informs me and gives me confidence as I attempt to do the same in my own wardrobe.  Thank you!

  • RobinF replied 4 months ago

I love red on you! Love the striped sweater and jeans - seems different than what you usually show us, more casual maybe? The Christmas market looks like fun.

  • kellygirl replied 4 months ago

Gorgeous in red. Love how the guitar strap updates the bag! You look so bright and cheery in everything. Sam and Jo are adorable too! Love seeing your outfits--it's like an early Christmas gift!

  • Star replied 4 months ago

Love the 11-14 outfit.  Your wet hair is very French Girl with tousled hair.  Pretty!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

    Jaime
, lovely to see you chime in. You had me laughing at Christmas Angel! Hopefully I've been nice this year ;)

Rachy, yes! The crockery is perfect, and hubs Greg desperately wanted it too :)

Bijou, my Versace-esque jeans just for you! Red is a perfect year-round colour. High five!

Sisi, glad you found your words, and they're such lovely ones! Sam and Jo send tail wags and kisses.

Suntiger, not sure what you mean, but you made me laugh!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Inge, YES! Love that jumper on you, my friend :)

Olive Green, fab to me make you laugh! Mission accomplished.

Sabimct, glad my outfits are helpful in some way. I'm flattered to have inspired some of your own outfits!

RobinF, thank you! Yes! I wear casual outfits too.

Kelly, your gracious comments are a gift! I'm blushing. Sam and Jo send kisses.

Star, HAH! My hair tousled well that day. Bonus :)

  • Roberta replied 4 months ago

I remember when you were presented with that beautiful bag. It's so wonderful to see you loving it years later!

Red and orange together is one of my fave combinations. Cheers to you for inspiring us to try new things and cherish the classics.

  • MsMary replied 4 months ago

Angie, this post is such a feast for the eyes! So much fun in every single photo!! Hooray!!

  • Lee replied 4 months ago

Wowsers! I love you in the red and orange combo! Love your hair too! I grew up always having a bob!

I also dig your art/throw combo and seeing Jimi on the wall :)

    - my bad! Mistook the biggest pillow as a throw, so your pillows and art combo = pizazz-y!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Roberta, such a therapeutic and kind comment. I'm touched. Thank you so much! Appreciate you being a Fabber for all this time, and go Team Orange With Red :)

Mary, wonderful to see you chime in! Know how much you love brights. and welcome your sweet words, with thanks.

Lee, you have impressive attention to detail! Thanks for the kind compliments and hair affection. I copied and painted the Picasso's, and had the Jimi commissioned for hubs for his 50th, five years ago. We like bright art!

  • Lee replied 4 months ago

I like bright art too, Angie! I love that you did the Picasso’s yourself!
Haha, yeah, for good or bad, I do notice details :)

  • Helena replied 4 months ago

    Gorgeous, fun, energetic ... Perfect!!

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 4 months ago

Angie, you are absolutely darling in these outfits!  I especially dig that groovy 70s-ish look in #10-15.

  • BlueJay replied 4 months ago

Red is such a wonderful colour on you, Angie! I really love your analogous colour pairings! Also loving the jeans and striped sweater--maximal outfit fabness!

What a great idea to change the strap on the Valentino! Jo and Sam are so cute! Is the reindeer new, or do you bring it out at this time of year?

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Lee, I appreciate a detailed eye!

Mary Beth, thanks for the sweet compliments! You are lovely :)

Blue Jay, your gracious words make me smile. Thank you so much! Rudolf is old, and comes out to play at Christmas time. Sam and Jo send tail wags!

  • Karie replied 4 months ago

Such gorgeous outfits! I love, love, love, red and orange together. And the orange pants are perfection.

  • Column replied 4 months ago

Thanks for showing us how it’s done, Angie!

  • Joy replied 4 months ago

Two years of hair growth! Mine desperately needs cutting . It is at the middle of my back. You look sparkly in red. I fell on the bus to the Denver Christmas Market. I think I broke a hip or something. Diabetes means most pain killers are out. I even had to stop baby aspirin as it interfered with my blood glucose meter. The Christmas Mart was great and very European feeling. A nice selection of items. Some were already sold out. The lesson is go early. We did, but not early enough. I had planned to buy more like children’s hot cocoa mugs.
I got one pair of alpaca handmade socks for myself. I wish I had bought more. They are wonderfully warm and perfect for boots. I love alpaca. Not itchy like wool.

  • Carol replied 4 months ago

Angie--in a world of black and tan, I bet people notice your bright outfits wherever you go. I am curious about how cold Seattle is this time of year (but I guess I can look that up). I am also wondering if most choose not to drive, like you. I remember well the cold city days from living in New York, but I was young then, and just shivered in a pea coat. I'm glad you have made it your duty to learn the fusion of warmth and style.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

    Thanks, everyone!

Karie, we love wearing similar colours with doggies in tow - BIG HIGH FIVE :)

    Column, appreciate the compliment!

Joy! Oh no! Please have your hip checked out. So sorry you fell. Hope you feel better soon. Enjoy those fab alpaca socks.

Carol, Seattle is cold, wet, and grey for half of the year. The damp lack of sun gets into your bones. (If you live in the PNW - you get what I mean). It feels much colder here than other places at the same temps because it's not sunny! At the market it was a damp 1C! So almost freezing, and felt colder. Icy wet. People kept commenting how cold it felt outside. Enough said.

Our wet weather ensures a VERY GREEN city though. Beautiful :)

  • Cee replied 4 months ago

It looks a lovely place. Is it true there's a coffee shop on every second street corner ?

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Cee, YES! Seattle is lovely, hence we stuck around for 20 years.

YES, lots of places to grab coffee :)

  • Cee replied 4 months ago

Is your local cafe/coffee shop Yorkie friendly ?

  • Cee replied 4 months ago

Hopefully they never mention the wars displayed in Braveheart.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

    Cee, some are Yorkie-friendly! :)

  • Cee replied 4 months ago

But are the Yorkies coffee shop friendly ?

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

YES! Sam and Jo are well behaved :)

  • Cee replied 4 months ago

Good thing they're terriers and not terrier-ists !

  • slim cat replied 4 months ago

Wonderful pictures - you look gorgeous in every one of them!
You embody the Christmas feelings of joy and celebration!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Cee, Sam and Jo have their mischievous moments!

Slim Cat, you are sooooo lovely! Thanks for your good spirits :)

  • Jonesy replied 4 months ago

I am sooo late here, but had to chime in. You look wonderfully turned out for the season--so vibrant and cheerful! I love that beautiful striped, oversized scarf on you, and seeing the Valentino with a guitar strap is a delight!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Jonesy, lovely that you chimed in! Thanks for the gracious words, and thought you might appreciate a BIF scarf :)

  • Zaeobi replied 4 months ago

Love how you stand out in your head-to-toe bright reds against the Christmas market :D

  • Barbara Diane replied 4 months ago

Love all of this. Your outfits, Jo and Sam, and your Christmas plates.
