WIWs: Big COS Sweater Dress

I LOVE my Winter COS sweater dress! Sack silhouette, warm, long, super cosy, super comfy, and easy to style.

Not sure what to call the colour. Not quite lime, not quite olive, not quite avocado, not quite pea soup. Maybe matcha green!

And just sour enough for my sartorial preferences with my natural honey blonde hair! Interrestingly, I would not have worn this colour as a platinum blonde.

Excuse the bad light and hazy pics. It's Winter.

The dress is a slam dunk with my tall whiskey weatherproof boots! Wearing hosiery to keep warm.

It's a versatile frock. Here are ways I've worn it, and still want to wear it. Worn it with the bubblegum pink coat most of all.

* I bat for Team Matchy-Matchy AND Team Co-ordinate. I pander to my mood for the day. I bet you do too!

* Worn with a variety of toppers, specs and bags. The same boots.

* I didn't think I had an oversized topper - but I do! I have an old tan Modern Retro cape that is BIG - almost 10 years old. Joke's on me ;)

* Currently in the mood to make a statement with solids. Still love and wear patterns, of course!

Thanks for looking! xo

Very cool. I love the fur collar jacket! I think it adds a lot of kind of needed interest to the simple dress. I also like the yellow bag. Well done.

  • Helena replied 2 months ago

I LOVE this on you Angie - the colour is really gorgeous, and I agree, with your slightly darker and warmer hair, it really is perfect. Especially love with the toffee jacket, but all versions are super-fab! And yay to matcha green - perfect name for it!

  • Brooklyn replied 2 months ago

Gorgeous!!! One of my favourites for you, ever. I wish I could wear sweater dresses but I don’t have the climate or thermostat for it. I will enjoy them on you! I love all the colour combinations. I’ve been more into solids too lately. That whiskey colour is a divine neutral.

  • Lynette replied 2 months ago

Oh my word, I love every one of these looks and can hardly pic a favorite but I will try. I vote for the dress with the short green tailored blazer, probably because of my love for a blazer but also because I really like the color combination of those two interesting greens. And Angie, your hair is looking just awesome! It has grown a little longer and looks so healthy and pretty! Your patience has paid off! Way to go!

  • The Cat replied 2 months ago

These wonderful colour combos make me smile. Wishing you happy days.

  • ChristelJ replied 2 months ago

That dress looks like it was made for you. Such a beautiful color with your hair, and you wear it with such elegance. So many great options for styling it, wow. I'm mesmerized by the version with the creams, and the toffee jacket version might be my fave, but it's hard to choose!

  • rachylou replied 2 months ago

Cozy! I really love the double green with the blazer. It’s bright but not corrosive bright. Super awesome!

  • Suz replied 2 months ago

Oooh, gorgeous dress on you, Angie! Wow. I love it all the ways, but I love it with the pink in particular, oh and also the double green, with the blazer! Just stunning. Also, your doggies make the perfect coordinates!  And "matcha" green is the perfect name for it. FAB shape.

  • kkards replied 2 months ago

What a fabulous dress.  Gorgeous color. And love the easy peasy fit.

Love all the different combos.  But that creamy cape is just so unexpected and unique

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

cjh, yes! Lots of topper and bag interest work with the dress. That said, I've worn in plain in #1to host a dinner party too. My specs add interest :)

Helena, Matcha Green it is! Appreciate the hair analysis and compliments!

Brooklyn, these looks are closer to your own style and palette! Thanks for the outfit love! Go Team Whiskey. I have a whiskey and grommet belt to match :)  ETA: Fun that our styles are colliding! And how about a sleeveless sweater dress?

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Lynette, lovely to see you chime in! A good blazer is a beautiful thing :) Much appreciate the hair love - thanks!

The Cat, you are lovely! Wishing you happy days too.

ChristelJ, that's high praise and I'm blushing. Thank you. The toffee jacket and bubblegum coat renditions are my faves :)

Rachy, you are Queen Cosy, so please get a sweater dress!

Suz, thank you! The bubblegum coat rendition is my fave too! Love matching Sam and Jo with my whiskey accents :) I can see you in the same shape dress, and hope one turns up in your colours.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

kkards, thank you! I can see you in a similar sweater dress - maybe navy?

  • Jaime replied 2 months ago

What fun to see you style your gorgeous dress so many ways! Also interesting how everyone has different favorites. Mine are the pink and the fur collar cape. But something for every mood. You look smashing every which way!

  • Bonnie replied 2 months ago

The dress is amazing on you and works well with every one of the toppers. I wore my green sweatshirt dress today, too, for a rainy stay at home day.

  • SarahD8 replied 2 months ago

Oh wow this is great! I concur with your "matcha" green as a color descriptor. Fun! I'm struck by the way the dress is such a simple column, but the way you style it makes it so dynamic in all sorts of different ways. I especially like it with the more-sour-green jacket, and the cape!

  • Runcarla replied 2 months ago

You nailed it with matcha green!  (Look for that to be a Pantone Colour of the Year :-)  ) Thanks for sharing your outfits.

Q: does that green work with navy?

  • Aquamarine replied 2 months ago

Wow, how fab! And versatile! I like all the renditions…can’t really pick a favorite.

  • Indigoprint replied 2 months ago

Wowsa... what a great addition to your closet! So many options with what you already have. Definately a 10!!!

  • Zaeobi replied 2 months ago

Great fluid fit on this jumper dress on you. It looked to be a much stronger green on the COS website!

I'd call this colour Pistachio - because it's exactly the same shade as the Pistachio Kulfi I used to eat as a kid :)

  • lyn67 replied 2 months ago

Ah yess, this is a pastel green to me-and so fresh looking on You for Spring--Killer new dress, Angie- no matter the styling here, all happy colors -and the tan boots+bag combo is tempering the brights somehow  to perfect  match with you hair and skin! (You reminded me in your comment for Brooklyn  I own a mint green sleeveless rib knit  midi dress which I wear with denim/chore short jackets in late Spring with my version of wiskey tan bag&shoes=tote+sandals).

  • Star replied 2 months ago

I LOVE this gorgeous dress!  The blue specs co-ordinate so well.  The cape is so feminine and divine.  You are a sight for sore eyes Angie, as the saying goes :)  I also want a knit dress.  For me the fluid fit will be vital.

  • sabimct replied 2 months ago

    WOWWOWWOW!

These looks are all absolutely stunning on you Angie!

I want to say once again, how much confidence and inspiration you radiate when you post these 'real life' pictures!  I find it tremendously helpful as I create my own looks in my own real life. Thank you Angie - you are a treasure!

  • Sisi replied 2 months ago

What a beautiful shade of green! It flatters you a lot. I like it very much with the bright pink coat and with the citron jacket.

  • Roberta replied 2 months ago

Oh, it's sooo good with the strong pink coat! I've been hoping to see this long, loose style of sweater dress on someone and you wear it so well.

  • Lesley replied 2 months ago

So cool and inspiring absolutely every way you wear it!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thanks very much everyone! I'm flattered.

Much appreciate the awfully kind words Jaime, Lesley, Roberta, Sisi, Star, Indigoprint, SarahD8 and Aquamarine! Lovely that you chimed in, and I'm smiling :)

Carla, YES! Of course. I can't think of a green that does not work with dark blue ;)

bonnie, waving at my green dress almost twinsie!

Zaeobi, pistachio is a great description of the this green! Pistachio kulfi is my favourite kulfi too :)

Lyn67, this is a mid-tone green in person ;) Thanks for the kind words! Yes to your sleeveless sweater dress, which I hope we see you model soon.

Sabimct, that's high praise, thank you! Humbled to have inspired you.

  • RobinF replied 2 months ago

Ooh great dress! I love it with the whisky accessories! And so fun with the pink coat!

  • Mirjana replied 2 months ago

OMG, sooo beautiful dress, great color and you look wonderful. It's a feast for the eyes. You made so gorgeous combinations, love all, but especially #5, 12 and 13. That cap is perfect.

  • Cardiff girl replied 2 months ago

Lovely! And the pink coat is an absolute treat!

  • Sal replied 2 months ago

What a fun start to the day for me! Love these - my most favourite is the cream coat -what a stunning cosy outfit! But I like them all.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

    Thank you!

RobinF and Cardiff Girl, I like the dress with the pink coat best too! And the citron bag ;)

Sal, as a dress lover, glad you started your day off fun!

  • Ginger replied 2 months ago

Angie, that is MY green! I've been collecting items in that shade for about 15 years now. Only one in Finds so far but it's a solid favorite. Interesting that you like it as a darker blonde than as platinum! I usually call it "grass green" or "leaf green" since it's similar to the new leaf color or the lighter green of grass in Texas.

  • Olive Green replied 2 months ago

The green and whiskey toppers look great, and the yellow bag is perfect. Your hair is impeccably cut, looks very chic.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Ginger, we share a green! My dress looks just like your jumper.

Olive Green, your avatar indicates that you like green ;) - and thanks for the hair compliments!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 months ago

Super looks, Angie. I love green, and this one is stunning on you. I have some faves here: that cape jacket and matching bag, and the whisky boots and leather jacket combo. Jo is a dynamite little accessory, too.

  • Kyle replied 2 months ago

This is a beautiful, solid color sweater dress and I love it paired with your blue glasses and all of the different outfit choices are really pretty. The pink is gorgeous, and the casual yellow bag is unexpectedly fun. I like it when you show your casual side.

  • BlueJay replied 2 months ago

Oh beautiful, Angie! What a gorgeous shade of green for you!! I really love all of the ways you can wear that dress! My favourite is with the green blazer because it is so unique!

  • Laura replied 2 months ago

Matcha green - that's exactly it! Gorgeous shade on you and perfectly complements your caramel hair color. I love seeing the Zara cape, too! Long dress + cape = dramatic fabulousness!

  • Debbie replied 2 months ago

Absolutely gorgeous dress. Love the cape. So glad you still had it!  I love all the combinations but the cape is my favorite! You look amazing love the hair.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 months ago

    oh, I just noticed--Sam, too!!

  • Bijou replied 2 months ago

Gorgeous in green! Sam is the best accessory, although the pink coat and bag complement put up strong competition.

  • Cee replied 2 months ago

Phewww !! ...At first I thought you'd been lured into wearing an evil cowlneck, Angie !!

    *Smelling salts* ...Crisis averted !!

  • Column replied 2 months ago

With cape and Hobbs item blazer are my favs! Thanks for the fashion show!

  • replied 2 months ago

Love that color on you, and especially with the whiskey boots and bag!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

    Thanks ever so much!

Wonderful that your favourite renditions are varied. Just as it should be!

Sharan, Jo thinks that playing with Rooster is a LOT more fun than my outfit. Sam agrees ;)

Kyle, my casual side is alive! Thanks for appreciating that side of my style.

Blue Jay, a column of green made you smile. My toes are tickled!

Laura, approval from Queen Dress puts a spring in my step :)

Debbie, you're a sweetheart as always!

Bijou, thought that the bubblegum rendition would be your fave! Mine too.

    Cee, mock turtlenecks, FTW!

Column, lovely to see you chime in!

Suntiger, I had you with the earthy whiskey :)

  • Cee replied 2 months ago

I dunno, Angie... Mock turtlenecks seem pretty shifty too !

  • Janet replied 2 months ago

I love this style, Angie! It works so beautifully on you, and I will enjoy it vicariously. I also love the green! Just gorgeous.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Janet, thank you! Lovely to see you chime in.

  • Karie replied 2 months ago

Gorgeous! The color matches your eyes. And I love the jacket with the fur collar!

  • Lee replied 2 months ago

Holy Guacamole, that dress is outstanding with your hair, toppers, bags and boots! I thought I was gonna love it best with the pink but then I was stumped when I saw the others. TruLee!!
    :p

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Karie, thanks for pointing out the eye colour match. Always lovely when you chime in :)

Lee, I much appreciate your warmth, positive energy, and kind words. Thank you!

  • Jonesy replied 2 months ago

Fantastic dress! I was going to say it looks like a spring green or pistachio, but matcha green captures it well. The color looks sublime on you, with your hair color, sparkling eyes, and light blue specs. I can't pick a favorite--these pics show how versatile the dress is! Okay, I really love it with the blazer, but I have such a sugar eye for blazers at the moment :).

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Matcha thank you, Jonesy! Appreciate the detailed eye, hair, and specs analysis :)

    And go Team Fun Blazer!

  • Carol replied 2 months ago

Wow, Angie. So great. I love your "matcha" descriptor, and I am surprised I don't see that color label at the stores. It is also, dare I say, a celery? Did you say that one?

I really like seeing it with all the toppers, and I think my favorite is that tan leather jacket towards the end. Brings out the sleekness of everything.

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thanks, Carol! Appreciate your kind words.

Celery works well! The whiskey jacket combination is one of my faves too :)

  • merwoman replied 2 months ago

So gorgeous! And look at those long lovely locks! You rock beautiful lady!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Lovely to see you chime in, Merwoman! Thank you, and I'm blushing :)

  • Isabel replied 2 months ago

    WOW !!!!

  • Jen replied 2 months ago

As I’m off to make my morning matcha latte, I must chime in on the perfection of the term matcha green. But also on how unexpectedly wonderful I find the short moto/long dress combo— will have to try this at home, as they say!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Isabel, how lovely to see you chime in :)

Jen, I find that short jackets work well on most dresses. Or at least, I really like the proportions of short jackets with dresses! Happy Matcha Friday.

  • Inge replied 2 months ago

This dress really was made for you, Angie! Perfect colour, perfect fit, perfect length. And just soooo good with those amazing boots.
Love all the toppers with it too. What a winner!

  • Angie replied 2 months ago

Thanks Inge, my friend! I can see you in the same style dress in YOUR colour :)
