WIW: Wildcard Pine Green

I got the new green moto in the Spring. It's a wildcard earthy pine green I don't usually wear. Well. Now I do! The new darker hair makes it work :)

Fab to wear Spring items in the Autumn. Double duty.

The green wide Westbourne Ponte pants from Boden are a fortuitous perfect match. Today, I wore them together and LOVED it! As long as I add crispness to this green, I feel good in the colour. Hence the icy blue top - which matches my blue specs - and off-white belt and loafers. (NAS items this year).

I like wearing dressy flat loafers with wide pants! Relaxed Glam, to my eye.

LOVE these pants. They feel heavenly, and are flattering and versatile. Great for travel. Got the red first - then the green. They replaced two pairs of wide pants that pilled.

Wore this to work with a client today. Then walking Yorkies, doing errands, and everything else.

Sam and Jo wore their green collars to match!

Bad pics in the rental unit. Pic outside to see accurate colours.

Thanks for looking. xo

I feel like this is a new to you color palette Angie and it is fabulous! I love the blue with the green. That moto matches those trousers perfectly (don't you like when that happens?) and this green color looks smashing with your darker hair. You look lovely for fall! *gives Sam and Jo a pet* I look forward to other ways you pair this green color in the future.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Lisa, you're right! It's new, and I like it :) My natural hair colour has opened up a range of palette options. Change is good.

I'm going to wear the pine green with bright pins, red, orange and citron. And navy. I'm excited :)

    Thanks for the kind words!

  • Lisa replied 5 months ago

Angie - I'm taking notes, I have a pair of green shorts that I may have to try with one of my pumpkin spice capsule tees (to pair green with orange). And of course I'm planning to try green with blue. I look forward to your future outfits!

  • Irina replied 5 months ago

Looks lovely, Angie! A navy bag would look great with this outfit, too.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 5 months ago

Gorgeous, Angie. The jacket needed those pants, so you could have a coordinated set! I could see this color paired with pale pink, à la your blog post this week, or with citron, too.

  • Runcarla replied 5 months ago

Love the column of colour of the accidental matched set.

  • Sal replied 5 months ago

Lovely combo!  It is fun to try a new colour and it does really suit you with the darker honey hair.

I have a few colours that I like but only with white or bright colours so I definitely relate.  Love this purple dress but only with yellow, white or tan (accessories).  When I tried it with black, grey or my pale blue denim it dragged me down.  (I think it would be fun with red or orange too but I don't have the right pieces)

  • slim cat replied 5 months ago

Great combo - total love! I've just started to play with green and blue colors - darker green with my pale blue jeans - and taking noted as well!

  • Star replied 5 months ago

Oh my - gorgeous colour on you.  Hair colour can be such a game changer when it comes to clothing colours I have found.

Okay, just read the comments now and you said this already.  High Five.

  • Staysfit replied 5 months ago

Wow, the pine green looks fabulous on you!  With collars coordinated to your outfit, you, Sam and Jo make a very stylish trio!

  • Helena replied 5 months ago

No one does head to toe colour like you Angie! YLF!!

  • April replied 5 months ago

Hello, shirt twin! Love this combo.

  • RobinF replied 5 months ago

What a pretty green! Looks like it matches the pants perfectly. Love the loafers too!

  • kellygirl replied 5 months ago

What Helena said! You are a gorgeous column of color! Such a refreshing and lively color on you. Love it!

  • Janet replied 5 months ago

That’s gorgeous! I think you make this color work brilliantly. And how lucky to find such a great match with the trousers.

I actually tried that jacket back in the summer but it ran a little small for me in my usual size — I never bothered to try the size up, but I’m not seeing a whole lot of this lovely green around, so maybe I should try it again. :-D I’m still seeing way more warm olive greens than anything in this pine-forest shade.

  • Cookie replied 5 months ago

I love the rich color! And Sam and Jo look so dapper I can hardly stand it.

  • cat2 replied 5 months ago

What a great match. I love my Boden ponte knit pants. I have a new pair for Fall in the Pimlico cut in last year’s sort of yellowy army green. I am sale stalking this year’s army green corduroy pieces.

  • ChristelJ replied 5 months ago

Beautiful color on you and so chic with the white shoes and belt! Matching dog collars takes it to the next level!

  • Bonnie replied 5 months ago

That is a great jacket and you are lucky to have found matching pants. You are looking fabulous!!

  • Roberta replied 5 months ago

Such an excellent combo! I own those pants, and will have to try a blue-gray top with them. You look smashing.

  • Suz replied 5 months ago

It's just amazing how well those pants match with the moto! A suit meant to be! You have really perfected the art of the "matched" unmatched suit, or maybe we should call it the matched wildcard suit - you could do a whole blog post on these! The ones you buy together, but especially the ones that appear by chance/ serendipity in your closet!

It's funny -- from the photos you'd never guess what a great match that was going to be. Love it all with the new mesh top, too!

  • Dottie replied 5 months ago

I love that color on you and I love your style!

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Thanks for chiming in, and for the kind compliments, everyone!

My right wrist is acting up and needs to slow down. Excuse my brevity.

Lisa, humbled to have inspired you, and I love a perfect match as much as you do! Sam and Jo give loving tailwags :)

Suz, I know! A fortuitous perfect match is soooooo satisfying :)

Roberta, waving at my pants twin! You look awesome in yours.

Staysfit, Sam and Jo say thank you.

Sal, you get it! Great purple dress.

  • BlueJay replied 5 months ago

What a serendipitous match! Wow! Love it with the blue and it does go well with your hair! A pat for Sam and Jo. :)

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

    April, waving back!

cat2, Boden's Ponte is best in my experience! High five.

Star, Bonnie, Kelly, Helena, Dottie, Carla, and RobinF, much appreciate your sweet words!

    Cookie, Blue Jay
and ChristelJ, Sam and Jo are blushing ;)

Slim Cat, sounds like a great combination!

Irina, it would! Not into navy bags anymore, though. Gave my navy Furla to Suz ;)

Janet, lots of your type of green online! You're going to have a great green season :)

  • Janet replied 5 months ago

Angie, I’m glad you’re seeing that cooler vibrant deep green, but I’m not finding it in my usual sources! (Nordstrom, Anthro, etc) Perhaps I just am looking in the wrong places. :-D

  • Jenny H replied 5 months ago

This looks AMAZING! You are having such great luck with fortuitous matches lately, lucky you.

I particularly like this green with the icy blue.

  • unfrumped replied 5 months ago

Angie, you have several superpowers, but one is mixing different bright colors together well, and another is patiently collecting pieces that are a perfect color match. Wowsers!

  • JP replied 5 months ago

Wow, Angie! This green ensemble is absolutely stunning on you! The tailored pants and the moto jacket create such a chic and polished look, and I love how the cream accessories add a fresh and modern touch. You're rocking this outfit!! The greens look soooo different in the product photos. I prefer the colors in your pictures. Now I want both those pieces, especially that I already have the top.

  • Laura replied 5 months ago

You've had the best luck lately with fortuitous matching colors! It's like you're getting a suit for the price of the pants. Looking fab in your lucky green!

  • Jaime replied 5 months ago

Just stunning! You are Queen Color and wear this one beautifully. Such a fun Fall alternative!

  • Bijou replied 5 months ago

Sam and Jo have a wardrobe of collars! I have never thought of this, I seriously need to lift my game when walking my Westies!

I love how you make new colours work for you - very glam and gorgeous!

  • Suntiger replied 5 months ago

Welcome to Team Dark Green :)

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 5 months ago

Wow!   I don't think I've ever seen you in pine green, and you wear it so beautifully!   You're a walking piece of art in this palette.

Jaime was right.   All Hail the Queen of Color!

  • Joyce B replied 5 months ago

That is a great color for you and a fab outfit.
I am looking forward to finding tops and jackets in forest green, I think I may be lucky with that this season.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

    Thanks so much, everyone!

Giving the wrists a rest today. Back to commenting later ;)

  • Mirjana replied 5 months ago

It's interesting pine green is a great color for you and you wear it so beautifully! It's a dark color and I always see you in lighter ones. But really fantastic outfit on you. Trendy color for this season.

  • Karie replied 5 months ago

You rock those colors! Very fresh, new, and vibrant. And the doggies! Super cute as always.

  • Kyle replied 4 months ago

Love that Sam and Jo have matching green collars. Such a stylish trio! It’s great that you now have a suit of sorts, but with a wonderful casually dressy vibe that works for you and your lifestyle. As usual, you own these bold colors and style them in such a creative and beautiful way,

  • Brooklyn replied 4 months ago

Wow, you had me with blue-green. You look wonderful. One of my all time faves :)

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

    Thanks, everyone!

Yes, Mirjana, Suntiger and Mary Beth. FIRST TIME you've seen me in forest green. Me too :)

Kyle and Unfrumped, that's high praise, and I'm blushing!

JP, waving at my top twim with April! Hope you enjoy the top too.

Karie and Bijou, maybe your beautiful outfits need doggie collars to match! Adds an extra fun dimension to the mix ;)

Laura and JennyH, I'm having a lucky matchy-matchy year!

Brooklyn, as our Queen Earth Tones, an earthy fave makes sense ;)

Jamie, I humbly accept my crononation!

JoyceB and Janet, I saw a lot of forest green at Aritzia and Bloomies yesterday.

  • Style Fan replied 4 months ago

Angie, that green is gorgeous on you!  I was looking at the Pine Green, wondering if it was warm enough.  It seems like it would be.  I will also look at Aritizia.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks, Style Fan! Good luck finding your pine green goodies.

  • Jamie replied 4 months ago

Chiming in to this thread quite late, but I have to say I love the Boden Ponte trousers. I tried the red first and am thinking about other colors as well. Comfy and chic!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Jamie, I know right? The wide legs look so chic too! Waving to my pants twin :)

  • Vicki replied 4 months ago

Angie, that's pretty amazing that the Boden pants and Nordstrom's Desigual jacket were a PERFECT match!  Don't you love it when that happens.  The whole outfit is beautiful and the blue print blouse makes it so special.  Glad Sam and Jo offered their sweet touches.

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Vicki, lovely to see you chime in! Thanks for the kind words :)

I love the pine green on yo, and have some med green pant, but have been having trouble finding green tops to go with it.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Joy, there is lots of green in retail at the moment. How can I help you find what you need?

  • Katerina replied 3 months ago

Gorgeous outfit on you Angie! I love this shade of green. The blue top makes the outfit very interesting and unexpected. Love!
