WIW: Horsey Neutrals

First, we are moving back into our loft on May 9. CANNOT WAIT!!!

This is the last of the bad outfit pics in bad light with odd bitty mirrors. Soon, things will be back to normal :)

Today is a glorious mild Seattle Spring day! Wore my new silk horsey blouse for the first time! (Waving to, Lisa). This was the first way I wanted to wear it - pattern mixed with acid wash jeans, cream belt and loafers, pearls, blue specs, a 13 year old denim blazer, and taupe bag.

Outfit took me to appointments, dog walking, and WFH. I'll go straight to book club in this tonight too.

This neutral-for-me outfit pandered to my neutral and patterned mood this morning. I wanted straight hair with it.

Stark contrast to an outfit I wore last week that was bold, solid, glitzy, and with waves in my hair - to the point of today's blog's post ;) - style constants AND change rock.

Thanks for looking. xo

Giddy-up, Angie! You look really fab as always! :)  I love all of the juxtaposition and pattern mixing. Most inspiring. I wouldn't have thought to mix the acid wash jeans with a printed blouse. Very unexpected.

I also really love Stark Contrast outfit. Super-duper and exuberant! I just love you in brights. The metallics are the cherry on top.

P.S. I just saw your comment about my 70s style change. My heart is awash in glitter and excitement at your encouragement! Will carry on and report back!

Adorable outfit, Angie! I love your hair wavy!

  • Lisa replied 3 days ago

YES, there is the horsey blouse!

    *waves to my blouse twin*

    Plonk.

*faints from amazing pattern mix of it's first outing*

    *recovers*

The gorgeous mix of blues and print is stunning. LOVE this! So glad you had a mild day to wear the horsey blouse. It's a lovely piece.

And the second outfit with the bright colors with touches of gold paired with white wide leg jeans is just as fabulous. LOVE this too!

And congratulations to having a move back in date. That is SO EXCITING! I hope the move goes smoothly and I look forward to unveiling of the renovations. Nothing is nicer than when everything is fresh and new.

As always, top notch outfits and stylings. No one does it better than you. I really like your longer, softer hair, and the sunshine brings out the best of it. Good to hear you’re moving back! It will be a nice day when you’re back home.

  • Angie replied 3 days ago

Thanks very much, everyone! I'm off to book club - will reply individually tomorrow :)

  • Kyle replied 3 days ago

I’ve also fainted and have joined Lisa on the floor. This is just too good for words. I mean, first of all, the blouse itself is just beautiful on you, but then this unexpected pairing of acid wash jeans and this sublime blazer make this a hall of fame outfit. It’s perfect!

Better take some smelling salts if you are wearing this to book club.

  • Laura replied 3 days ago

Please pass the smelling salts :)

Everything everyone said about the outfit AND the hair is looking so good! The color, the length. You’ve reached hair nirvana!

  • Runcarla replied 3 days ago

Congrats on nearing completion with the reno.  I do love your style and fabulous outfits!

  • Jaime replied 3 days ago

Love this! Wow those acid wash jeans are such a great juxtaposition with the horsey blouse. Contrasting strictness I guess. And book club? Do tell :) . Finally congratulations on the long awaited move back home!

  • slim cat replied 3 days ago

Gorgeous all around - love the acid jeans ( sigh  ;-) )!
Congratulations to the move back to your fab apartment ( hopefully with AC - ready for the hotter summer in Seattle )!

  • Bijou replied 3 days ago

Wow! I love how you make everything look so elegant. I adore #1, those jeans are styled to perfection. Playful, edgy and elegant. I hope your day was as wonderful as you looked.

There is a temptation to stay fixed with a signature style which can so easily become a rut. It is inspirational at how you evolve your style. Sometimes with a clean sweep (thinking of those heels you decided no longer worked for your feet) or more gently.

I was initially sad to see your edgy platinum pixie go, but this new style is gorgeous. I'm glad you knew you what the final destination would be and bravely persevered through the transition.

  • Star replied 3 days ago

Fabulous outfits. Love that you are a mood dresser, but they still look like ,'Angie'. Inspirational!

  • Dee replied 3 days ago

Ouu... love the cool, edgy horseplay with your first outfit, and such a fun shift to glam with your gold booties and bold colour combo in the 2nd. I'm a mood dresser too, it's fun dressing to satisfy my creative spirit. Your hair looks lovely too.
Glad to hear your newly renovated loft is almost finished, how exciting.

  • RobinF replied 3 days ago

Very exciting to move back into your loft! It's been a long wait! Hope you give us a peek!

Great outfits! You are so good at pattern mixing and knowing just the right final touches. Love the longer hair, especially wavy. And the color is perfect.

  • LJP replied 3 days ago

Wow- there is so much to unpack here!  A moving in date is set - which is super exciting! Hope you share some photos soon  :)   And, Angie is in a book club???  What are you reading ?  Then, the styling in both outfits here - so interesting, creative and pretty.  Both are SO far outside of my own style and comfort zone but I can appreciate beautiful dressing when I see it.  Your hair is gorgeous too - colour me envious .

  • JP replied 3 days ago

Your styling is fabulous as always.
Congratulations on moving back soon! I can only imagine how happy you are!
Is the book club something new? What are you reading?

Ket, such sweet words as always! Appreciate the cheerleading, and look forward to seeing you explore your '70s style gene! I have one too.

Lisa! Wooohoooo! My horsey blouse twin! It's a beautiful piece and I love it. Comfy, playful, and polished. I almost wanted to wear it again today. Thanks for the kind words, chuckles, and hope you didn't hit your head ;)

cjh, that is high praise, and I'm blushing. Wow! Thank you.

  • Angie replied 3 days ago

Awwh, Kyle! Those are big compliments and I'm touched. Enormously generous!

JP, soooo excited. I'm counting down :)

  • Suz replied 3 days ago

You are looking adorably pattern-mixed as well as equestrian! Terrific spring outfit for the gorgeous weather! I love the mix of casual and more formal/ dressy here! And I like the idea of the other outfit, too -- bright for a cloudy day.

  • Column replied 2 days ago

This was really fun eye candy, Angie. Thanks! Belated happy anniversary to the blog; I cant wait to see the new closet!

  • Sal replied 2 days ago

What stunning outfits.  I love them both - yay for changing it up.

And how exciting to have a moving date.  That is great news.

    Fab and happy outfits.
I am so happy for you that your loft will be ready soon, that is great :)

  • Angie replied 2 days ago

Suz, a new-for-me equestrian look feels dead right - astute observaton and thank you! We need our brights for those ongoing grey days in the PNW, as you know :)

Column, thanks for the good wishes and kind words!

Sal, you are lovely as always! Appreciate it :)

JoybeB, we can't wait to move back in!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 days ago

Wow, beautiful, Angie! What a great illustration of two very different but very YOU looks. You are equally stunning in quiet pattern mixed blues and bright color blocks with white and shiny gold.

  • Carol replied 1 day ago

Oooh, I love this outfit. Of course, because I love pattern mixing, but also because I love denim as an actual color. This is something I would wear head to toe! I'm going to come borrow that jacket, okay?

  • kellygirl replied 1 day ago

What a fantastic pairing, Angie! And your longer hair is divine. You are a style inspiration! How exciting that you are moving back to your flat! It sure seems like it's been a long time away from the castle. So glad for you and the family!

  • Angie replied 1 day ago

Sharan and Kelly, that's awfully high praise, and I;m blushing! Thanks soooo much :)

Carol, go Team Pattern Mix! Come on over and borrow my jacket.

  • Brooklyn replied 1 day ago

Gorgeous as always! Nice to see the contrast between the 2 outfits, both in silhouette and palette. And yay for finishing your renovations soon :)

  • Angie replied 9 hours ago

Thanks, Brooklyn! Change is good. To that point, 3 weeks and COUNTING...

  • Janet replied 6 hours ago

Oh, how did I miss this? HUGE CONGRATS on having a moving date to get back into your home! That is so big, and it’s been a long time coming!

(We are about to go back into construction mode again soon — planning the final renovation on our home, after almost 19 years here! The main bathroom is in the planning stages. We have ordered a soaking tub and chosen tile for walls and floor. Exciting!)

Of course you look smashing as always. I would never think to pair acid wash denim with a traditional horse print, but you make it work! Your hair looks sooooo good too!
