WIW: Golfing Carrots with Blue

Gorgeous sunny Spring Day in Seattle! Busting out my new Suistudio stash with a very high happiness-factor. My favourite look of 2021 so far! I might need to take up golf.

A year ago this week I last worked with a client in-person. I will work with clients in-person again when I'm vaccinated. I'm hopeful that  happens by my birthday in July.

You can call me Ms. Checked & Plaid Dressy Pants! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wearing cute dressy pants - as much as white jeans, and Summer dresses. These are now my faves, thanks to my clever friend Tanya :) - very comfy, and hemmed to wear with my type of flat and very low heeled footwear.

I can wear the pants with sooo much of my wardrobe because it's within my palette. For today, I'm wearing the version with the striped polo and cream leather jacket. The cream jacket is 13 years old. I'm not buying leather jackets again, but will wear the two I have till they fall apart. I prefer the polo un-tucked but am showing you both pics.

Turquoise and orange renditions here are for cooler Spring days, which are happening next week. Today's mild weather is a cruel teaser.

I'm off to run errands and walk Sam. All on foot. We live downtown. Yes - this is what I'm wearing, and to WFH. I'm dressy, and it's authentic! My at-home-only blush sneakers work well with the pants when I'm at home. Last pic.

Hair needs a cut and shape. Excuse it sticking up. Also authentic ;)

Thanks for looking. Back later. xo

Well, this is fantastic. These adorable pants couldn't be more you. So many perfect ways to wear them! The spring joyousness is leaping off the page, too! Things are looking up, it seems, and I really hope you can work with clients in person even sooner than you think. Meanwhile, thanks for infusing all of us with your happy, color-loving spirit.

    :-)
    What a fantastically whimsical outfit!
The pattern mixing and colors are so cheery. Really charming and lifting.
Ooh editing bc at first was just transfixed on the stripes/plaid. The turquoise looks awesome too!

  • Tanya replied 3 years ago

Obviously I think all the outfits are incredible, especially the combo of striped polo with the plaid pants. Love that Sam has a matching turquoise collar.

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Your new outfits are fabulous. The new blue plaid pants work beautifully with your brights and whites.

  • aloha emily replied 3 years ago

LOVE allll these looks! I grew up in Seattle and seeing these gorgeous combinations would have perked up any grey Seattle day. So vibrant!!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

You are the ray of sunshine - fab in every version! Love all the outfits but turquoise steals my heart ❤️!

  • Jonesy replied 3 years ago

Wow, the pants look like they were made for you--they are beautifully tailored and the color combo is so perfect! And I love the pattern mixing! That trim polo style really suits you as well. Sam appears to be giving you his mark of approval :).

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

Those are so your colors! I love how seamlessly your wardrobe works together. Seriously wonderful fits and styles on you. And even if you say you need a cut, I think your hair looks fab.

I hope you are able to get the vaccine in plenty of time to celebrate your summer birthday and meet with clients in person again!

  • JamC replied 3 years ago

I liked that polo shirt when I first saw the find. Such an interesting color mix. How perfect that the pants match your turquoise, orange, and white items too. Thank you for sharing all the photos in one post; it is so easy to see all the possibilities.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

Awesome colour mixing yet again. Love the plaid! You look stunning.

[PS. I hope you were warm enough. It’s going to be 30C here today. So it’s warm here too. I like it when forum weather patterns collide.]

  • MsMary replied 3 years ago

OMG I love this so much I want to marry it! Just perfect!!

  • ZoeyGirl replied 3 years ago

    Wow!

I had trouble picturing this from your blog post with finds, so am happy to see it on you and looking amazing! I love the teal coat topper - those options are my favorite, but the best lesson here is the visual understanding of how items can work together. Thanks! And fun outfit!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

A thousand volts! I LOVE IT!!

  • Lynette replied 3 years ago

Oh my goodness, these might be my favorites from your wardrobe! They are all perfectly gorgeous but I have to say the renditions with the blue coat are just stunning. How awesome that the coat was the exact shade of blue to match the pants! It was meant to be!

  • Lynette replied 3 years ago

Back to say I was paying attention to the way you did the wardrobe creation session with your new items. You make it look so easy!

  • Vildy replied 3 years ago

It's great to see so much happiness inside and out in times like these. Meant totally sincerely.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Irina, JamC, and bonnie, I enjoy remixing old with new. You’re sweet.

Emily, what a lovely thing to say!

Jenna, your cheerful comment is a teat.

Tanya, you can be my personal shopper! I trust you :) - and nice that you noticed Sam’s matching collar.

Slim Cat, I like the turquoise version next best!

Jonesy, YES. The pants are a beautiful fit, and soooo comfy. I need to get more of this brand. YES, polos are an ‘80s preppy fave of mine, and I thought you’d like the pattern mixing.

Janet, thank you for your gracious words!  They were uplifting.

Brooklyn, a doggie walking and pattern mixing high five!  I was plenty warm in the leather jacket. Knee-highs and camisole too. Thanks for the compliment.

Mary, I can see you in these looks with your pumps :)

ZoeyGirl, glad I could seal the deal with visuals. They do help.

    Rachy, thank you :)

Lynette, I thought of you doing my mini outfit creation session, and wished I could magically help you with yours right now!

Vildy, I never doubt your sincerity.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

Well, those Suistudio items clearly belong in your wardrobe. They fit you to a T in every way. I like all the combinations! Sam clearly approves, too. Your comment about your hair is funny, because I was admiring how your hair looks, too!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Sharan, you're so nice! My hair is in its 6th week, which is when I usually have it cut. But with COVID, I leave it for longer. 2 weeks to go.

  • replied 3 years ago

So pretty and so Euro - or Palm Beach ;)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Lisa P, probably more Euro because I don't wear shorts unless I'm on the beach ;)

  • replied 3 years ago

The gold courses of Palm Beach ;)

  • smittie replied 3 years ago

    Super outfit!
    Loving the golfer look!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Lisa P, oooooh. Golf. Right. I get it. YES! I don't play, but I'll be well turned out :)

Smittie, high fiving my fellow polo shirt lover! I've just ordered this one:

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

And I just noticed how you coordinate with the painting behind you. (Or the painting is in your colors.)

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

Wonderful turquoise and orange capsule. I am in awe.
I do not know what you call your current hairstyle, compared to other versions, but it is totally adorable. I love whatever it is you’ve targeted for now.

  • replied 3 years ago

Yes you should take up golf! You'll be the most stylish golfer on the course :) My favorites are the outfits with the turquoise coat!
Did you paint that painting behind you?

  • Eliza replied 3 years ago

This seals the deal, Angie. I’m off to convince Mr. Eliza to move to Seattle. Worth it for the chance that I could run into you in any of these amazing outfits. Pure joy!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

This is even more stunning on you than what I imagined it would be, it has seriously launched me into orbit. I had no doubt that these would be amazing, the Tanya / Angie outfit creation duo is a formidable high fashion yet practical force. The fact that Sam matches is just the cherry on top.

Also a good lesson in the uplifting power of clothes. Just seeing you today has made me feel happy, I am sure people in Seattle that see you and Sam feel the same way.

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

    Fun! Fun! Fun!

  • smittie replied 3 years ago

Squee! Snagged scotch and soda shirt in raspberry! Cant wait.
This is my first S&S order!

  • Jenn replied 3 years ago

This is the way to do it! I love how many combos you can make with these. They’re perfect for you.

  • Joyce B replied 3 years ago

Fab outfits, they look so happy! Little Sam is such a sweetie!

  • N replied 3 years ago

I love the shape of those trousers Angie!! They'd be far to short for me but they look amazing on you!!

  • RainB replied 3 years ago

Oh, these pants are so perfect for you Angie! And all that turquoise is just sublime...

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

This is perfect for you, I love all the combinations you showed us here.

I am really intrigued by the brand. Have you seen that you can have custom made suit? But I am unsure about the sizing, and I couldn’t find a sizing chart. In some brands I need 34EU and XS and in some 36EU and S, mostly 2 but sometimes 4 in US sizing, and mainly consistent 8 in UK sizing. So confusing.

  • Synne replied 3 years ago

Fun and gorgeous! You succeed everytime! You never make shopping/styling mistakes anymore, do you? You know your style and colors soo well. I am beyond impressed and inspired!

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

    Wow, wow,wow
While i love the pants and the polo, and you can/ and do pull off the pattern mixing, the pants with the blue sweater and matching coat just went straight to my heart. The twin set effect, the tailoring, just so fab!

  • Inge replied 3 years ago

All the variations are just sooooooo good, I am floored! My word, these trousers were made for you!!!

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

You look so smart in this! So playful and uplifting that I can't help but smile!  Love your style, Angie!

  • Mirjana replied 3 years ago

OMG, Angie you made my day with this post. I am speechless, I can't stop watching, sooo beautiful pants on you and incredibly good color combo. The Spring is really coming now, definitely. You look terrific but I like the best with white sweater.

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

    perfect for Spring!!!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

    Gorgeous colors on you!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thank you all, for the awfully kind words! I'm blushing :)

Firecracker and Suntiger, that one isn’t my work. Greg surprised me with the painting about 16 years ago, and it’s by a local WA artist. One of my faves.

Oh my word Bijou and Eliza, that is very high praise. Thank you for being so gracious.

    Unfrumped, good to know ;)

Smittie, I hope we are watermelon polo twins.

N, the Dutch brand makes long inseams because Dutch people are very tall. They might work. I had to have them hacked, which hardly every happens.

anchie, you can start a separate thread on the sizing if you like. More will weigh in that way.

Synne, I don’t make many shopping and style mistakes now - but have made my fair share in the past.

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

Angie - I am interested in suitstudio sizing, I am conflicted which one to order, maybe I just need to order both sizes to get a sense. Which one have you got? Was regular length still too long?
I am always hesitant when ordering for new to me brand for the first time :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

anchie, my pants are a Euro 32R (Dutch size), US0, UK6, GER32, IT38, FR34. This makes sense, and I ordered the right size. They fit 100% perfectly - no waist adjustment! - and fluidly apart from the length which was a few inches too long. Dutch people are tall. I had them hemmed.

    Label of the pants below:

Top is XXS. I'm sure the XS would work for me too - just more fluid.

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

Thanks Angie, this is helpful, it seems I am about one size up in every country :) I will try 34R when I decide to order from them.

  • Cardiff girl replied 3 years ago

Turquoise and orange,2 of my favourite colours so beautifully illustrated by you.l love the coat and jumper especially.

  • JP replied 3 years ago

Incredible! You look AMAZING and I love how your whole wardrobe works so well together. I am making my goal to create this for myself.

  • replied 3 years ago

Angie, you must look like a beautiful bird of paradise in the downtown sea of black and grey.  Good for you, sticking to your true self and your true colors!  You're a fabulous independent fashionista!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

anchie, maybe go to a brick 'n mortar store?

Cardiff Girl, JP, and Xtabay, your lovely words made me smile. Thank you  :)

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

    Super duper cute!!

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day! The first outfit could single handedly make golf course chic a thing. The turquoise is stunning. And I love the piping on the orange cross body stripe. Sam clearly approves also!

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

WOW! Those pants work with your wardrobe SO WELL! You look super gorgeous, and it appears that sweet Sam agrees!

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

We don’t have a b&m store here unfortunately. Many YLF favorite brands are not available here at all. That is why I get exited when you feature something that I can at least order online.
But I did stumble upon size finder on suitsupply website and after entering my measurements they recommended 36R and S for me. Not much stock in that size currently, but I will keep them in mind in the future.

  • Synne replied 3 years ago

Xtabay, "beautiful bird of paradise", gosh I'm tearing up! This is what it's all about. Bringing joy in this sometimes bleak world. Beautifully said, and very true about Angie!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thank you all so much!

    anchie, keep on looking....

Jaime and Karie, such kind words. Can we make Gold Course Chic a thing? Sam would like that :)

Synne, that's gracious - thank you.

  • replied 3 years ago

Eye- catching colors and pattern mixing! Love the polo :)

  • Laura replied 3 years ago

This is fantastic! I hope you get invited to a country club this summer. You're ready for apres-golf lounging!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Oh my gosh, this is STUNNING!!! How could I have missed this post?

You look absolutely amazing in this outfit, Angie. Or rather, these outfits. So many of your toppers and tops will work with these trousers. They are lovely on you. I can see you mixing and matching in even more creative ways. The plaid is lovely because it is "there" if worn with something equally pattern-rich that picks up the tones, but it also recedes if you have a bright solid on top -- it's a statement OR a complement, depending on the outfit. Fantastic. YAY for Tanya!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks so much, everyone! YES, I have not yet exhausted how to wear these pants. I have a cream pullover and boots too. Very versatile and fun. Thank you, Tanya :)

  • Laurie replied 3 years ago

The very Angie-ness of it all!

The blue sweater/coat, and the orange sweater combos spark a lot of joy.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Laurie, I didn't know whether to award you with Comedy or Therapy!

  • Debbie replied 3 years ago

You would be the cutest thing on the golf course!
I love all of the combinations. You look amazing in those pants. What a great find,

  • notsaf replied 3 years ago

Angie, these pants remind me SO MUCH of a favorite pair I had in high school from a vintage shop and wore to death. Not quite my style anymore, but you are giving me serious pants envy!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Debbie, you are a sweetheart.

Notsaf :) HAH. Fun fashion flashback. And now you wear neutrals 90% of the time. Style evolution ;)

  • Ledonna N. replied 3 years ago

How you manage to look like spring and summer. Ugh. I wish. I love your brightness

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, Ledonna!
