WIW: Dressed Now, and into Autumn

Here is the dress I bought in the Netherlands a few months ago, from a  Dutch brand called Kyra & Co. It was on deep discount, "last season", the only one left, and in my size. It fits in seamlessly with my style and the colour palette of my wardrobe. So I went for it. SCORE!

It's mesh, stretchy, soft, VERY comfy, versatile, A-line, midi, has pretty sleeves, and I can run around in it with doggies in tow. (The most important part ;) ). It's navy with blush, turquoise and white. That works in many of my capsules :)

I wore it for my Summer birthday in July with light blue shoes and bag when Seattle was having a very welcome cooler day in-between our brutal and smokey heatwaves. (First three pics). I add a little navy lace camisole for some pretty.

I'm also ready to wear it into Autumn with:

  • New NAS cream complement: combat boots and barrel bag
  • 15 year old cream leather jacket (bought in Canada for my 38th birthday)
  • Dark denim G-Star jacket
  • Boden Sweater jacket
  • 6 year old navy gilet (NAS 6 years ago)

The white, blush, navy, turquoise and denim capsules in my wardrobe are abundant so I can style the dress in many, many ways. I have a burgundy complement too.

LOVE MY DRESS! Thanks for looking. xo

Wow, Wow, the dress is wonderful and you look like movie star. It's so versatile dress, really winner.

  • CocoLion replied 2 years ago

That is a lovely dress and looks comfortable too.  I especially like it with the combat boots.  I remember years ago you were calling out to retail for more sleeved, midi length dresses.  They finally heard you!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Mirjana, thank you for being so sweet.

Denise, YES! Good memory. I've been stocking up on dresses the last few seasons precisely because of that. Got to milk it when it's there!

  • Irina replied 2 years ago

Looks very pretty, Angie! I’m surprised you paired it with combat boots and not with more refined ones. But it definitely works and provides an unexpected twist. Wonderful!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Irina, I can do that too! Wanted to show my new NAS complement in action - that's all :)

    Works with these shoes too:

How gorgeous is that dress! Love all the ways you have styled it, Angie. I'm taking notes on how to style my new Julia Jordan dress.

  • Jenn replied 2 years ago

I love this dress SO MUCH. Maybe my favorite thing in your closet and you have an amazing wardrobe.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Nice, Nuancedream! That NAS dress you and Laura have is definitely related to my dress.

  • Jonesy replied 2 years ago

Beautiful! I especially love it with the navy gilet--bring on the fall and winter drama! I would be nervous about little doggie claws snagging the material, but you have a magical ability to avoid that (like avoiding getting white clothes dirty), right :)?

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

Ooooo!  Sweet dress! Like it styled with the gilet!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Jenn, thank you! That's high praise.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Jonesy, I thought that this autumn palette - and PATTERN! - would tickle your fancy. So far, no snagging - and I carry Sam and Jo a hundred times a day! Their nails are short - which helps ;)

    Carla, the gilet is versatile.

  • Sloper replied 2 years ago

Fab fab fab! I especially like it with the chunky boots (and all the toppers).

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

OOOOOH!  What a fabulous dress on you, Angie! Stunning in every combination. I love love love love love it! A beautiful, dynamic print, lots of options for styling, and a simple, elegant, and oh-so-flattering cut. What could be better?

  • Bonnie replied 2 years ago

    What a fabulous dress.

  • kkards replied 2 years ago

What a great dress. Love how it works now & later. And the SE boots & leather jacket version, instead of dressing it down like I was expecting actually dress it up, or at least it does in my eyes. And pairing it with the navy gilet, wow, inspired

  • Janet replied 2 years ago

That's a great dress! I really enjoy Dutch designs. And that blue and burgundy color palette is a favorite of mine (just mentioned that on another thread!). I like how many ways you can style it.

  • Synne replied 2 years ago

    Fab, fab, fab!!

  • replied 2 years ago

oH I love this! You look amazing! Incredible dress! So good!

  • Preppy Pear replied 2 years ago

I’ll say something similar that you once said to me that put a smile on my face: “and the dress loves you back!” Yay!

P.S. I like ALL the combos but something about the navy toppers really does it for me - sets your glasses off.

  • CarolS replied 2 years ago

All stunning, with a particular sweet eye toward the dark denim jacket and the gilet.

  • replied 2 years ago

Divine colors and pattern! Admire the sheer sleeves. You look spectacular. Love that the dress works for multiple seasons. Brava all around :)

  • Murph11 replied 2 years ago

GORGEOUS! Look up "verve" in the dictionary, and there's a photo of you in that dress!

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Love the dress, especially alone and with the Boden navy topper.  What an incredible find!  It will fit seamlessly into your wardrobe and be seasonless.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

I have to run, but will be back later.

    Gorgeous dress on gorgeous you!

I would wear this! But of course I would style it darker :) It’s a great demonstration of how we make items unique to each of us by styling. YLF!

  • rachylou replied 2 years ago

Oh I can’t wait for the navy! :)

  • bridgie replied 2 years ago

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 years ago

You look so good in this dress, Angie--and super tall, like a basketball player! It's fun to see all these outfits you made with it. I really like your side-swept hair, too.

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

Do you know, this pattern reminds me of that H&M blouse and scarf a number of us had years ago -- I still have the scarf, as a matter of fact. It's not the same but it has many of the same tones and the energy of it is similar.

  • The Cat replied 2 years ago

Gorgeous colour mixing and very fab style. Perfect for you. And your happy, bright smile is the best accessory.

  • ANewMindset replied 2 years ago

Amazing!! You look great. I love every way you styled it!

  • Star replied 2 years ago

Very nice.  Pretty and versatile.  I'm thinking how good it is going to look with your Converse High Tops.  Love your leather jacket too.  You are  glowing in these pics.

Clicking away now, before I get the idea that an awesome burgundy & navy midi dress with sleeves could possibly be what I need!

  • Diana replied 2 years ago

What a gorgeous dress! I love the line of it, and the colors and pattern are so striking. All of your stylings are as always fantastic- I love the one with the gilet and combat boots so much. <3

  • Debbie replied 2 years ago

You are beautiful. You should be a model because you wear clothes beautifully. I love this dress. I would love to find a dress for fall and winter.

  • Kyle replied 2 years ago

Wow, wow, wow and wow. Those colors make you sparkle. What a great dress.

  • Bijou replied 2 years ago

You look stunning in this dress, such a fabulous find. It is beautiful with your cream, light blue and ink support acts, from which it is too hard to pick a favourite.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Such kind and lovely complements. I enjoyed the few giggles too. Thank you!

Sounds like this dress could have ended up in many a fabber's wardrobes :)

Fun to hear that the gilet version is a forum fave! I like the dress worn on its own best, and with the three-item cream support act next.

Suz, yes, that scarf has the same energy. Good with your mustard bag.

  • MsMaven replied 2 years ago

You’ve really turned me onto blue and brown combination this last week. Love the dress with all white accessories.

  • Cardiff girl replied 2 years ago

That is a very elegant dress and so versatile.

  • Grace replied 2 years ago

A stunning outfit.  I also have the gilet from six years ago and it looks amazing with the dress!  Also love the other combinations!

  • Joyce B replied 2 years ago

I love your dress and it is gorgeous on you. Now I “need” a similar dress :)

  • Jaime replied 2 years ago

Absolutely smashing on you Angie! Sort of Fuzzi-esque! You are finding the most perfect pieces lately. Many years of hard work and practice are rewarded and now the made for you pieces just fly to your fingers like magic.

  • Karie replied 2 years ago

What a beautiful dress, and it’s so versatile! So many ways to style it, and it can be worn across seasons.

It’s so pretty on you!  Mirjana is right - you do look like a movie star!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

    Kelly, :)

JAileen, hardly a star, but a very good dog walker!

  • Jamie replied 2 years ago

    Love, love, love!!

  • Roxanna replied 2 years ago

Your smile and happiness in this outfit really stands out :) I love how you showed it transitioning from summer to fall. I need to do more of that. And I love how the gilet breaks up the pattern! I’m going to try that trick…

  • April replied 2 years ago

The gorgeousness has been abundantly noted above.  :)

Wanted to add that I am betting this dress was a favorite of your dear papa, who liked seeing you in skirts and dresses. <hug>

April, you have a great memory. YES, my Papa loved me in skirts and dresses, and I wore them a lot when I saw him recently. He would have approved of this dress. Hug back. xo
