WIW: Favourite Green Dress!

Actually, it's my only green dress, and it's a fave because lime green is my favourite colour ;)

The shirt dress is new, and I've worn it three times. Very breezy and lightweight. LOVE the shape and white buttons! It's an everyday dress as long as the weather is hot and my shoes are flat. It can be worn like a sack - (stock photo) - or buttoned asymmetrically like this. That's how I want to wear it, since that's the feature of the frock!

The colour is most accurate in pic #4, downstairs in our loft.

The citron bag is 13 years old and a favourite too. New NAS gold flats are versatile! I'll get a back up pair in Oct.

When I'm going to wear a dress, it's probably going to be some sort of shirt dress. I have sleeveless dresses, knitted fit & flared dresses, and a sweater dress. Shirt dresses have a bigger portion of my heart.

Thanks for looking. xo

Gorgeous! The color brings out your eyes and recalls the original look of the YLF blog too.

  • slim cat replied 4 months ago

Super cute - love the asymmetrical way of wearing it! It's a fun combination of bright green dress, sunny yellow bag and light blue of your frames ( I wonder if I can make it work for me - with green as accessory and blue as a main color ;-) ).

Gorgeous green color on you and it's a delightful pairing with the citron bag and gold shoes.

How fun that the dress can be worn asymmetrical! That's such a neat design!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

    Thanks, you two!

Jaime, YES! OG YLF was lime green, till we changed it to Tiffany blue. Good memory, and I much appreciate your loyalty :)

Slim Cat, yes! With your pretty blue eyes, blue as the dominant colour and green as the accent - you'll look splendid in the combination.

Lisa, We posted at the same time! Finally able to add lime green back into my wardrobe now that it's more available. Huge soft spot for the colour! Appreciate the kind compliments.

Oh my, what a darling lime green dress, love the asymmetrical option, makes for such a dramatic hemline. Love the punch of yellow with your bag, and the gold flats are so elegant.

  • Ket replied 4 months ago

This is fantastic!! I love the front line with the closure for sure. You shine in lime!! You really do.

This color makes me want to put on a Miranda Carmen song. Or watch an Esther Williams’s movie “Easy to Love”. (Lots of beautiful, intense citrus shades used for the costuming). Aaannnnyway…. Viva La lime!

  • Bonnie replied 4 months ago

Love the way you are wearing it buttoned asymmetrically. It's a beautiful green.

  • Laurie replied 4 months ago

I really love the asymmetrical buttoned option for this dress -so unique. I am not a huge fan of the sack option, but I'm sure it's super comfortable in the heat.

And all these happy colors! I love green with your eyes and hair. Perhaps there is room in the beautiful new closet for a little more green?

  • Joyce B replied 4 months ago

    It is lovely on you.

  • Roberta replied 4 months ago

I love the asymmetry! How clever of them to come up with that design. It looks very crisp and pretty the regular way too, don't get me wrong. That is such a good color on you!

  • LJP replied 4 months ago

That’s such a great dress . I ordered it a couple of months ago and it arrived ….in a horrible linen blend that was miles too big and a really awful shade of black . I could not send it back quickly enough . I thought I was ordering the poplin as you have here but I must have clicked on another version . This looks great on you !

  • Karie replied 4 months ago

Super cute dress! I love the color and the hemline.

  • Suz replied 4 months ago

Sooo pretty and crisp and also a little avant garde with the asymmetrical button. When BR does it right, they really do it right! I have been impressed by many of the fabrics they have used in the past year or so. And wow, the colour is so fab on you with your eyes and hair!

  • Star (Lise) replied 4 months ago

Wow I love this dress. The colour, the contrasting buttons and the shape. You look incredible!

  • Mirjana replied 4 months ago

Wow, Angie, the dress is awesome on you. The shape is really unique, the color just for you, gorgeous. Normally I noticed those beautiful golden shoes and felt in live with them. Enjoy wearing that lovely dress.

  • Sisi replied 4 months ago

Wow, this dress is so "you". Wonderful colour and funny asymmetrical buttoning. YLF! Those slingbacks are really nice.

  • RobinF replied 4 months ago

Love it! So great buttoned how you have done it!

  • cat2 replied 4 months ago

Great pick! I vaguely remember reading that BR was refocusing the brand. Looks like more modern pieces than I recall?

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Dee, such gracious words. Appreciate you!

Ket, "shine in lime" made me laugh! Thanks for the vivid description :)

bonnie, Karie and Joyce, thanks for the kind words!

I'll be back to comment fully later. Off to apps all morning....

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Laurie, YES! Plenty of room for more sour green wardrobe items ;)

Roberta, I'm wowed at the clever design! I have yet to wear it the unstructured way, and like that too :)

LJP, what a shame! I suspect that a crisp cotton holds the shape of this type of silhouette better than linen. Hope you find another more suitable frock!

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Suz, I'm with you! BR fabrics are STELLAR. Fits still a little all over the place, though. Colours thankfully expanding from only earth tones and neutrals. They piqued my interest when they offered sour green - of which I now have two items ;)

  • Angie replied 4 months ago

Lise, thank you! That's high praise, and I'm blushing :)

Mirjana, appreciate your very sweet words! I can see you wear my gold flats.

Sisi, the dress had my name on it :)  Thanks for the kind compliments!

RobinF, it's a fun dress to wear. VERY comfy!

cat2, BR has been refocusing their brand for a while. About 3 to 4 years. More upmarket, neutral, expensive, and exclusive. Lots of trends, as well as classics. See my comment to Suz. They got me back in when they offered my green ;)

  • Carol replied 3 months ago

The asymmetrical styling with the gold shoes is divine. What a bold choice of color, and yet I can see it wearing well in many environments.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thanks, Caro! You have a way with words :)

  • aloha emily replied 3 months ago

Angie that color is glorious on you!! And with the yellow bag? So lovely and fresh.

  • MsMaven replied 3 months ago

I did not expect this! (Not a fan of green except in my garden.)

This dress is fantastic on you. Perfect color and perfect design. I had to look at a close up of the BR photo and I could not have imagined how great it would look on a real person. And what a fun dress for a summer day.

  • Janet replied 3 months ago

Love this! Such a pretty color on you too. The button option is similar to my oversized TWP shirt I got while in Seattle! I like the style a lot. If that dress were done in a sleeveless style, I would try it. Sleeves just get too warm for me in summer unless they are super light and loose!

  • Carol replied 3 months ago

    Angie, thanks :)

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thanks for the kind words, aloha Emily!

MsMaven, there is some affection for green after all! :) Thanks for your open mind and sweet compliments.

Janet, YES! Similar style detailing to the top you got in Seattle when we met. Fun silhouette.

    Carol, :)

  • Laura replied 3 months ago

Clever design! It's fun when there's more than one way to wear a dress. You wear that happy green color beautifully!

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thanks, Laura! BR of ALL places had my much coveted and very hard to find lime green ;)
