WIW: Chartreuse Sky

I love a side of acidic chartreuse! It's sour -  just how I like my colours :)

New '70s jacket! It's a workhorse. Seamlessly remixes with most of my wardrobe. Versatile! Here it is with light blue and cream.

All other items are one to four years old.

This is WIW to work with a client all day - then walk Sam and Jo. It's casual because my client is casual. I dress for my audience.

I didn't need a coat because I was in a mall. Popped a coat on to walk the doggies though!

I love wearing flat loafers with big jeans and pants! Feels elegant, somehow.

Hair is a good length.

In the rental with bad mirror and light. 6 weeks to go till we can hopefully move back to our loft!

Thanks for looking. xo

Oh Angie what a pretty top. I might be going to try a “side” of different colours soon as I am thinking of washing and donating the long olive cardigan in my holding zone. I have two long bronze/tan ones which I am pondering using as a “side” whereas before I preferred a column of colour.
Your hair is a nice length but very straight. Do you flat iron it every day? Must be such a pain if so? I’m way, way too lazy!

  • Lisa replied 1 week ago

Only 6 weeks to go, that's very exciting!

Lovely 70s jacket and how delightful that it seamlessly mixes with everything in your wardrobe. It's always nice when that happens with a new addition!

The light blue and cream are lovely for spring. I've been favoring shades of blues a lot right now too. :)

Hair is looking so good at this length. I'm stunned that your natural color has no greys (at least none that I can see on my screen). What great genes you have! :)

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    I think it's a pretty top too, Jenni! :)

Yes, I flat ironed my hair today. I'm in the mood for straight hair at the moment! Do not flat iron daily.

Look forward to seeing your side of bronze!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Thanks for the sweet words, Lisa! Go Team Light Blue! Another versatile colour, I find.

You’re right. No grey hair yet. It seems to be genetic. My Mama, Papa and brother didn't go grey either. Time will tell!

  • Cookie replied 1 week ago

I love the jacket! Such an unusual but surprisingly versatile color.

  • Jaime replied 1 week ago

What a spectacular look! I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect jacket for you, and I really like the juxtaposition of the slouchy jeans with the polished and trim shoes and bag and fun jacket and belt. Hair is on point too! Hope the 6 weeks go by quickly and successfully!

  • Kyle replied 1 week ago

Oh, my! That sweater/jeans/belt combination is terrific, and it’s really the most beautiful blue on you. Add the pop of contrasting chartreuse, and WOW what an outfit. Perfection, as usual.

  • Sal replied 1 week ago

Lovely early spring outfit!  You look so fresh.

It is wonderful when a new piece can be introduced so seamlessly.

  • K. Period. replied 1 week ago

This is one of my all time favorite color combos too. I think I have you to thank for that! :) So much fun and so cheerful.

  • pirouette replied 1 week ago

I love your outfit Angie the jacket is a great colour. Your hair is a fantastic length now and I love it straight.

  • Star replied 1 week ago

Stunning outfit Angie!  I love the modern take on 70s style.   So clever ;).

  • Brooklyn replied 1 week ago

Gorgeous! What a fantastic and unusual piece that jacket is. Perfect for you. I love your floral jumper. I’d love something similar in burgundy :)

  • Staysfit replied 1 week ago

This is probably my all time favorite color combination for you!  I love these on you, both colors are happy and cheerful and together they are perfection with your hair, eyes and skin.  Bravo!

They remind me of an outfit my grandmother gave me in the 70’s that was sky blue and light lemon yellow (My version of this combo).  It was one of the only outfits I can remember wearing until it tore to shreds.  I know my mom wanted me to give it up but there was no way….sky blue bell bottoms and sky blue top with lemon yellow collar, and hand painted lion crawling up the bell bottoms.   I was all about Joy Adamson, Elsa, and Born Free at that age.  Memories!

Sal, I have a versatile spring in my step ;)

K.Period, high five! Let's milk the colour combination.

Pirouette, appreciate the hair love! I'm enjoying straight hair for a change.

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Star, chuffed to be called clever! Thanks for the sweet words.

Brooklyn, thanks! Glad the jacket found me unexpectedly, and hope you find a burgundy floral jumper ;)

aloha Emily, it's an easy outfit formula I milk! Thank you.

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Suntiger, I do match their rug! Can't wait to move back home.

Tanya, lovely to see you chime in! Go Team Light Blue - your pseudo neutral ;)

Helena, thank you! My hair looks better this length than bobbed, I think.

  • Laura replied 1 week ago

You've concocted an outfit that perfectly balances calming sky blue and energizing acidic chartreuse. Then add in graphic patterns in the handbag strap and grommet belt and combine them with an artistic floral sweater that looks like a painting. Spectacular! 100/10!

  • SarahD8 replied 1 week ago

Sour (acidic chartreuse) and sweet (pretty blue and cream) with a side of salty (your mischievous pups!). A perfect mix!

Oy, this renovation sure has dragged on! Excited for you to get back in your own loft -- I am sure the wait will be worth it. I suspect you are as meticulous about your space as you are about your wardrobe!

  • Dee replied 1 week ago

Wonderfully pretty 70s vibe, love the punch of acid with the softer blues. Interesting that you dress in a similar manner to what your clients might be wearing.

  • Bonnie replied 1 week ago

Love the casual pretty look of this outfit and chartreuse, light blue, and white is one of my favorite color combinations. The shoes, belt, and bag really elevate the combo.

  • Suz replied 1 week ago

I love how you "sour" the sky blue with chartreuse -- it's perfect for you and adds a bit of edge. The blue top and jeans are fantastic on you. You look like a spring day -- new green leaves, soft clouds, light sky!

  • Ket replied 1 week ago

I really love the juxtaposition of colors and mixing shiny leather with soft floral and denim. The usual Angie Panache :D

You know, I have had a new-found love of the 70s this last year or so. I just haven't put into practice yet. You've given me a little push to do it! I have a very lovely, fun 70s sweater and 70s sweater vest I want to knit, along with a real 70s skirt pattern to maybe sew. (After I figure out how to enlarge it enough.) Anyway -- thanks for indulging me. :)

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thanks very much!

Laura, a poetic and sweet description! I'm smiling at the spectacular praise :)

SarahD8, you noticed Jo behind me ;) - love that! (You're right! We are meticulous about our living space ;)

Dee, appreciate the kind words! It's important to make my clients feel comfortable :)

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Suz, I "crisp" and "sour" my outfit palette - astute catch and well said! And another lovely poetic description - that is extra welcome on this wet, grey and cold Seattle day ;)

Ket, thank you! Humbled to have inspired some '70s integrity into your look. Looking forward to seeing your awesome creations!

  • Carol replied 1 week ago

Oh, wow. Am I ever jealous of that jacket. It does have a retro feel, and it is a great color. But my favorite thing is not actually the color, but that it is a similar texture and cut to the jackets in the videos Beat It, Thriller and Eye of the Tiger.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 week ago

Oh boy! Amazing colors on you, Angie. What a super fab look. I love the cuffed jeans on you.

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Carol, thanks for the jacket love! The jackets in those videos are '80s looks - and this is a '70s jacket. I love both vibes  ;)

Sharan, thanks for the kind words! These jeans have a fab swagger as  you stride. They need dry weather though.....

  • slim cat replied 1 week ago

Beautiful - love light blue ( my fav color ) and sunny yellow ( perfect accent color )! The jacket is perfect for you and your hair never looked better - YLF!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Slim cat, you are lovely! Thanks for the hair love, and go Team Light Blue! It matches your pretty eyes :)

  • RobinF replied 1 week ago

Ooh love it! That blue top is beautiful and the whole thing works perfectly. I love loafers too but they often don't have enough support for heavy duty walking. They look so good with the jeans though.

  • JP replied 1 week ago

You look absolutely stunning! Love your hair. The chartreuse is so vibrant and fresh, and the way you’ve styled it is effortlessly chic. I love the cuffed jeans on you. Such a beautiful look!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

RobinF, thanks for the kind words! I wear supportive loafers by VIONIC. You might like them too :)

JP, that's high praise, and I'm blushing!! Your generous words make me smile. Thank you!

FINALLY, the hair is at a good length.
