Shorter Bixie

My hair will get shorter and shorter, since I'm a SHP (Short Hair Person).

For the next year, I'm settled on this short bixie. (Waving to my bixie sisters, Dee and Sal!) I like the versatility of the length and style! It's sharp yet soft

This time, I have the long fringe to go with the look. Before, I was growing out my fringe and other odd layers. This is intentional!

Had the front lightened a bit.

Came from the salon with it straight. Wore it straight the next day too.

Wearing it wavy and asymmetrical today. Plus WIW today. All old items
(2 to 10 years).

I feel energized with short hair! Thanks for looking, and listening to my hair project ;) xo

Your energy jumps out of these delightful photos - you look picture perfect. I really love how this length draws the eye to your face. It had been very fun to see you grow out your hair and all of the stages in-between. Your commitment to styling and healthy hair has meant you have looked fabulous at every stage of this journey.

  • LJP replied 1 month ago

I absolutely love it . My favourite yet ! You really do look fashion forward with this type of cut . It suits the bold colours of the clothes you wear too .

  • Suz replied 1 month ago

Your hair looks gorgeous! Love the new cut. I feel as if it definitely brings zing. All the attention goes to your face and your beautiful eyes -- except the attention left over for your killer outfits! So fun to see these vivid pinks and blues on you. You seem to be able to look fab in just about any colour in your general palette!. From the calmest neutrals to the most brilliant oranges, blues, pinks, orang-reds, yellows!

  • Star (Lise) replied 1 month ago

Lovely straight and wavy. Your pink coat is so beautiful.

  • slim cat replied 1 month ago

Great haircut and styling! You have beautiful healthy hair that can carry different styles - all are very pretty on you ( feeling a bit envious since my thin/fine hair can only handle pixie cut ;-) ).
Love light blue on you - YLF!

  • Brooklyn replied 1 month ago

Perfecto!!! I love this hairstyle. Suits you so much! I had a similar style some years ago - perhaps a little longer - but I abandoned it after a particularly wet, humid summer when it drove me crazy trying to keep it looking sharp. I think I am a long hair person (LHP), ha ha.

  • Carla replied 1 month ago

Fab evolution of your hairstyle! Looks great straight and with a wave/curl.

  • Dee replied 1 month ago

So super pretty on you Angie and as you've mentioned I'm a big bixie fan myself. I've always found this shorter style much easier to manage especially if you have really fine hair but want to maintain that polished look.

Love that floral sweater with the faded widelegs. Your soft waves are the perfect compliment to the outfit.

  • Janet replied 1 month ago

This cut and style suits you so well! It conveys your personality and is super flattering on your face and frame.

  • pirouette replied 1 month ago

Lovely haircut I like it straight best. You are so adventurous with your hair. I think if I grew my hair as you did over several years I would be too scared to ever cut it short again in case I’d regret the cut and have to start all over again.

  • JAileen replied 1 month ago

It looks great!  I like both versions, but the wavy version a bit more.  Is this different from an inverted bob?

  • judy replied 1 month ago

Always gorgeous!  Love the short hair, and the slightly wavy!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

    Thanks do much, everyone!

Bijou, on my word. What a lovely thing to say! I'm in awe of you generous compliments. Much appreciated!

Lisa, fellow SHP! Appreciate the kind words and positive reinforcement!

Suz, another SHP! Such kind words, and fun colour analysis! (You and LJP remarked on a similar thing!). The word "zing" makes me smile, and thank you :)

Star, Judy and Carla, thank you! Lovely when you chime in.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Slim Cat, fellow SHP! Thanks for the sweet words! I have fine and thin hair. I find that the shorter length makes it look fuller! Your pixie is fantastic on you :)

Brooklyn, appreciate the hair affection and compliments! Know all too well how hard it is to keep hair looking sharp in high humidity. You make it look easy! Your long ombréd hair works beautifully with your chic boho style, so glad you found a solution!

Dee, my bixie style sister! Your pretty bixie suits your natural grace and refinement! YES to the length being sooooo much easier to manage than long hair. Thanks for the compliments!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Janet, thanks for the awfully kind words!

Pirouette, I am adventurous with the style of my hair - but not the colour. I've had every style except a mullet, shag or perm! And good grief, it's a SLOG growing out a very short pixie. It's very satisfying cutting hair off though - especially when you are a SHP ;)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

JAileen, hubs Greg prefers it wavy too :)

An inverted bob is wedged at the back. My hair is not wedged, IYKWIM. It has a few textured layers to facilitate movement and interest. Hope that makes sense!

  • Bonnie replied 1 month ago

This cut looks terrific on you! I had my longish bob recently cut short, too. It is so much easier to care for, probably because I use the flat iron so much to keep it straight.

  • Irina replied 1 month ago

Angie, your new haircut looks fantastic. I think this one is the best ever! You look stunning with it!
My hair grows fast, often faster than I would want it to grow. Maybe this is why I get bored with it so often :)

  • Sal replied 1 month ago

Yay!! Welcome back to the club! Love it as you would expect.

I had mine evened up last week. So nice to have it off my neck.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

bonnie, my bob style sister! I love your short bob! Suits you perfectly, and thank you.

Irina, such high praise, and I'm blushing. Thanks so much! You're lucky that your hair grows fast! Easy to change up :) Have you tried putting a wave in your hair?

Sal, my bixie style sister! Your very layered bixie is a perfect match for your Sporty Charlie's Angels look! Especially when you wear your aviators and look sooooo good! Thanks for the compliment.

  • sabimct replied 1 month ago

You look so beautiful!  A great way to top off all of your gorgeous outfits!  Just in time for the holiday season!

  • Irina replied 1 month ago

Angie, yes, I tried to put a wave with some styling products and scrunching it. I avoid using heat as it’s too damaging to my fine hair. It doesn’t hold styling well anyway, it worked when I colored my hair.

  • Laurie replied 1 month ago

Fabulous cut and love it styled both ways, Angie. I understand that aspect of feeling energized when a cut/style is just right.  I know the flip side of that too - it can be a dark place!

Pink, blue, and cream suits your eyes, complexion, and hair so beautifully.  All of your recent outfit postings have been so fantastic, and I haven't even had words. So unlike me!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 month ago

It looks fantastic, Angie! So fun that you can wear it straight or wavy.
I understand feeling energized with short hair. I am enjoying my recent cut with layers and expect I will go shorter again at some point, too.

  • Jaime replied 1 month ago

Yes you are a SHP and a gorgeous one at that! (I think I am a SHP too in my own way.) The cut is so good - the back of your hair falls beautifully. You know I am always a tiny bit partial to your natural waves, but this truly works perfectly both ways. And what a delight to see you in that bright pink coat and fab jeans. You've never looked better (as good many times though :) ).

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Sabrina, thanks for the extra good cheer, and sweet words!

Irina, yes! One needs to watch the heat with fine hair. I've found that a heat protectant works well, and a light spritz of hairspray does wonders keeping waves in place.

Laurie, awwwh! You are very kind, and thanks so much. And I know, right? It helps us feel fab when our hair is right ;)

Sharan, thanks for the lovely compliments, and for getting what it means to feel energized by shorter hair! Your new layers are awesome!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Jaime, you ARE a SHP! Your salty curly asymmetrical cut goes down in the YLF Hall of Fame! Thanks for the awfully generous words :)

  • lyn67 replied 1 month ago

Getting shorter cuts feels always fresh and looks sharper-matching so well with your bright outfits , Angie! Love that natural wave- enhaced with an iron, or how? You have great hair (color, texture, volume, style) no matter the length!

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 month ago

Very pretty Angie! You’ve had a few hair adventures in recent years!
You know I am certainly a SHP- just clocking up 30 years I have had a pixie for now.

  • MsMary replied 1 month ago

    You look FAB!!

  • Helena replied 1 month ago

Love all your hair iterations, but.short is so signature for you. Looks absolutely gorgeous!

  • Olive Green replied 1 month ago

This may be my favourite cut, suits your face shape perfectly.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Lyn67, that's such high praise, thank you so much! The straight version is blown and flat ironed. The wavy version is air dried - (because I have naturally wavy hair) - and finished off with a curling iron because my waves are uneven ;)

Jenni, thank you, and waving to another fellow SHP! Will join you back on Team Pixie at some point because pixies are soooooo easy! Your pixie suits you wonderfully! I had my last pixie for 15 years - although there were many versions of it. I am, as you mentioned, adventurous with the style of my hair!

Mary, Helena and Olive Green, appreciate the awfully kind words!

  • Karie replied 1 month ago

Sweet Sister! This is super gorgeous, and super flattering. I love the cut in the back too.

  • Sisi replied 1 month ago

You look fabulous both ways - I have a slight preference for wavy hair though ... I like the Springy vibe of your outfits, with all those fresh, merry colors!

  • RobinF replied 1 month ago

Love it! That is a great cut for you! And the outfit is wonderful. Love the blue sweater with the light jeans - perfect.

I am also a short hair person. I have had it short most of my life. As soon as it gets much past my chin, I need to cut it off. Just doesn't work for me longer (or I don't have the patience to find out!).

  • Inge replied 1 month ago

Beautiful outfit and the shorter hair suits you so well, Angie. Elegant, and playfully charming worn wavy. You really can pull off all lengths!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Karie, thanks for making me laugh with your wonderful enthusiasm! Appreciate the kind words.

Sisi, I wear Spring in Winter! Thanks for the sweet compliments.

RobinF, thank you! High five to preferring shorter hair! I soooo get your preference for hair that does not touch your neck. Your curly short bob is smashing!

Inge, my sweet friend and fellow SHP! Thank you so much! I'll be back on Team Pixie with you at some point ;)

  • Debbie replied 1 month ago

Gorgeous hair on gorgeous you. All through your hair journey each and every style has been gorgeous.
I can’t wait to see more.

  • marija replied 1 month ago

I love the waves!  Straight is nice, but waves are such personality!  Wow, I really admire your beautiful style.  Your hair is gorgeous!

  • Lisa replied 1 month ago

You're a hair chameleon Angie! Long or short, you wear then all beautifully! I've also rejoined team shorter hair recently and cut it to shoulder length for a change up.

  • April replied 1 month ago

So funny - short hair for me is so high-maintenance that it has the opposite effect of energizing. But you have always looked smashing in shorter hair and now is no exception. :)

  • Cee replied 3 weeks ago

Lovely and worthy of a dropped sound amplifying device !

  • citygirldc replied 3 weeks ago

Well all your hairstyles look fab on you.  I am struggling with my bob especially since my hair texture has changed quite a bit. In the summer it's a fuzzy mess and in the winter my hair just flattens with no body.

I'm tempted to go shorter with lots of texture. Maybe a longish pixie. I'm waiting a bit to grow it out since it has been a bob for quite some time.

  • Angie replied 3 weeks ago

Thank you, Naz! From what I can see, your bixie looks fantastic! LOVE your salty streaks and eyewear :)
