QUICK Try On: "Angie" Top + Trouser Jeans!

WINNERS!

1. Found the right bra, and the one-shoulder Reiss "Angie" Top that I've been thinking of for over a year. It's gorgeous! The most alluring item in my wardrobe, and I'm enjoying it!

2. Finally found dressy trousers jeans from Elie Tahari after a two year search. They are  PERFECT, and exactly what I was looking for! Sublime quality, dark denim, dressy, polished. They need a good hack, though. The model looks like she'e wearing a different pair of pants!

https://www.elietahari.com/col.....p202-denim

The trouser jeans have a blazer to match, and I might get that too....maaaaaaybe.........

3. It's cooled down in Seattle, and I could bust out my blue NAS Reiss top today. The cut-outs are genius-ly positioned because I can wear my regular bra and camisole with the top, and you can't see their straps!

Thank you Reiss for making exceptional quality and wearable items that showcase some skin :)

4. Had a few layers cut back into my hair to give it some shape while it grows out to beyond my chin. The awkward stage is thankfully OVER.

Plan to do many outfit posts once my broken toe is heeled. Three more weeks.

Thanks for looking! xo

Beautiful trouser jeans--they look very chic and alluring indeed with your off-the-shoulder sweater :)! I love that blue sweater too--the color looks lovely with your coloring and eyes. Your hair is looking so good!

  • Star replied 1 year ago

I LOVE both pieces, and your hair is really cool!  I have always had a thing for off the shoulder tops.  A college friend bought me a light gray one in 1984 with her first salary and wore it well into the 90's, and then replaced it with a magenta one.  The perfect way to show some skin without being OTT.  Oh and dark denim is the only one for me.  So KILLER outfit Angie :)  Looking forward to seeing more when your toe is healed.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Jonesy, thank you for the awfully kind and gracious words! It's a new-to-me blue - (airforce blue is what I call it) - and good to hear you like it! Works with the new natural darker hair ;)

  • Irina replied 1 year ago

    Looks beautiful, Angie.

Broken toe! Ouch! Sorry to hear, hope you are healing fast.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Star, that's so sweet! Many thanks for the lovely words. And fun story too! Go Team Dark Denim. It's not easy to find....

  • Dee replied 1 year ago

Oh my, you’ve really got it going on. Loving all the colours and cut outs and those jeans, your legs seem to go on forever.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Irina, thanks! Blasted broken toe is sooooo annoying. Glad to hear you're on the mend. Patience.....

Dee, HAH! I don't have long legs. But they look longer when I wear full lengths flares like bootcuts and wide legs. Optical illusion!

  • replied 1 year ago

I’m oohing and aahing over those fantastic sweaters.  That shade of blue is truly amazing on you.  So glad it’s cool enough to wear it.  And such a perfect fit on those jeans.

Coincidentally, I also have a broken toe (a pinky).  My whole foot was blue yesterday, but ice and ibuprofen made a big improvement.  Hope yours is getting better, too!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Xtabay, appreciate your generous compliments! Thank you.

BLAST! Your pinky toe too :( Oh, no! I sympathize. It's a 6 week healing process - and I'm 3 weeks in. Icing and ibuprofen help a LOT! Hang in there. And sending healing thoughts.

  • slim cat replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous - all of them! Love the blue top on you - perfect with your signature pearls and freshly cut hair!

  • rachylou replied 1 year ago

    Head turning! Snap! :D

  • Mirjana replied 1 year ago

Oh, both tops are beautiful, fantastic colors I can't say which one is better. Love red off - the shoulder on you with great pants. The blue one are wonderful with your eyes. Terrific!!!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    Thanks, everyone!

Slim Cat, I can see you in these pants! The rise is NOT high.

Rachy, I'm going with head-turning as a good thing ;)

Mirjana, you're sweet and lovely as always!

  • Karie replied 1 year ago

Both tops are beautiful- I love that shade of blue with your eyes and your glasses. The fit of the jeans looks spot on - except for the length - but that’s an easy fix.
Hopefully your toe is healing quickly!

  • Laurie replied 1 year ago

You look just amazing, Angie! Really like air force blue! Great pieces.

Loving your hair - color and length.

  • LJP replied 1 year ago

Love that suit - perfect . If I had a different lifestyle I’d be all over it for fall . Pretty tops for you too !

  • Suz replied 1 year ago

Ooh, the blue Reiss top is so beautiful on you! Fab!

Love the off-the shoulder top as well -- so vibrant and festive.

That is a fantastic suit...tempting in the extreme!

  • Sal replied 1 year ago

Love both tops and the jeans and the hair!

Still not loving the broken toe though - such a frustrating injury.

    Enjoy these shapes and silhouettes.

  • replied 1 year ago

Wow to all! Yes try the blazer!
I don't remember seeing you in that blue. It's great on you!

  • Cardiff girl replied 1 year ago

I must-say how   much l like your new hairdo. It’s very pretty,l think the longer length is a softer look on you.

  • replied 1 year ago

Amazing new items! Trouser jeans are very smart. Would make an awesome suit with the blazer. The off the shoulder is super pretty and the new to you blue is gorgeous. Pure hair bliss :) Don’t forget elevation for the toe.

  • chewyspaghetti replied 1 year ago

    Gorgeous!

  • CarolS replied 1 year ago

Yay to finally finding the right trouser jeans -- these are stunning, and you would certainly rock the suit...

Hair and new tops are looking fab. I like the idea of off the shoulder but think that in real life I'd find it fussy, so I am happy to enjoy the look on you!

    Wishing a speedy recovery.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, for the kind words, everyone! For the toe empathy too.

Karie, an easy hack, for sure. I'll have them altered this week. I'm excited!

Laurie, Sal and Chewy, appreciate the kind words!

LJP, it is a gorgeous suit. Personally, I prefer shorter blazers, so it's a big maybe.....

Cardiff Girl, it's a fun soft change!

Suz, you need to put Reiss and Elie Tahari back on your go-to brands list! Remember how much FUN we had at the Boston gathering with those brands :)

Suntiger, it's new to me in a solid! Works with the darker hair.

Nikki, I'm trying to be good patient! It's slow going and takes time....as you know. In three weeks it will feel better. Glad you're on the mend ;)

CarolS, the one-shoulder top was a bit fussy at first. But I got used to it - and the strapless bra! Thankfully.

  • Tanya replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous all around!  Love both new tops and the trouser jeans on you.

  • kkards replied 1 year ago

As my mother always says, you can’t tell until you try…I’d definitely give that blazer a try.

Love the colors on the cut out and drop shoulder tops.  They look fab on you.

  • cat2 replied 1 year ago

Another vote for trying the blazer too.

  • Indigoprint replied 1 year ago

So FAB. Such an inspiration. Pearls are icing on the cake!

  • rachylou replied 1 year ago

It is! … as long as you’re not shy… ;)

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Tanya, waving at my Reiss top twin!

kkards and cat2, always worth a try :)

Indigoprint, HAH! I love cake, and shall now refer to my pearls as icing.

Rachy, not shy! But I am a modest dresser.

  • Jaime replied 1 year ago

Wowza Angie! The new top and jeans are absolutely amazing on you! You are such a good role model for patience. The color of your hair is so rich - you are beautiful as ever!

  • Runcarla replied 1 year ago

I’ve been looking at Reiss knitwear as a possibility, since I need a few sweaters for when the cooler weather arrives.  Quality is generally pretty good?  Gorgeous jeans.

do love the way you are styling your hair in this part of your style journey…

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

Your outfits are beautiful but my eye is drawn to your pearls. They make the outfit

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

I wrote a comment but somehow it vanished when I went to post! Ah well.

All of these are totally smashing on you. Love that orange color and wish I wore it so well. I like the one shoulder top but alas I think I can only get away with the strapless bra under a loose and patterned top to hide the slight bump at the top of the cup. My strapless bra requires a lot more structure unfortunately.

Your hair looks really great! I like the length and natural color a lot.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 year ago

The Angie top clearly has the right name--looks super fab on you! And with those jeans--wow. I like the cutout shoulder top, too. It's so different, and bonus that it covers bra and cami straps.
That's too bad about your toe. 3 more weeks to heal--and I can't believe you were out shopping with a client, walking on it! (If I understood correctly.) Yikes.

  • merwoman replied 1 year ago

Sounds like you are halfway through the healing journey…and looking totally amazing! Gorgeous colours on you and hair looks sooooo good!
I’m working with a similar colour to your blue and hope to have it ready for wearing soon.

  • Brooklyn replied 1 year ago

Love the jeans! Great find. And your hair is looking fabulous.

  • sabimct replied 1 year ago

Your hair looks so pretty Angie!

Big wow on the jeans - they look stunning!

I love the inspiration you provide -- thank you!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Thanks, everyone! Appreciate the kind compliments about my transitional hair.

Jaime, what an awfully gracious comment! Very touched :)

Carla, all my Reiss items are stellar! Knitwear too. I need to buy from them more often. But their colours can be off for me, so it's the luck of the draw.

Joy, good thing I wear my pearls daily then ;)

Brooklyn, I knew you'd love the jeans!

Merwoman, you are a hair-growing and knitting inspiration! Beautiful work.

Sabimct, what a sweet thing to say!

Janet, are you sure you can't wear more of a burnt orange? Your new hair might make all the difference. I hear you on the strapless bra issue......not an everyday thing for me either.

Sharan, you are lovely! And you are dead right, but I postponed shopping with clients for a while. I did not shop with them until I could wear my ECCO sneakers, which I could do last Friday for the first time in three weeks. It was okay :)

  • Kyle replied 1 year ago

Unreal. Those jeans are everything. Wow, wow, wow.

  • Victoria replied 1 year ago

I love that orange sweater ! Totally awesome
Sorry to hear about your toe . I broke mine last year in December when snow was ankle deep and it hurt so bad I couldn’t wear any boots over it . That was a doozy !

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

Kyle, thanks! Maybe you need a pair too? Plenty of length for your lovely long legs....

Victoria, thank you! Oh my word. No boots in Winter. Big problem! :(
I empathize. Glad your toe is all better. I look forward to getting there. Can't wear boots either at the moment....

  • Style Fan replied 1 year ago

Gorgeous jeans!  The orange sweater is beautiful!  A broken toe is so painful.  :(

  • Column replied 1 year ago

    Gorgeous you in blue!

  • Debbie replied 1 year ago

You look absolutely gorgeous. I love that orange color on you. Those trouser jeans are scrumptious.

I love your hair! It is perfection!

  • April replied 1 year ago

Trouser jeans!  So happy to see them back again.

And look at you with one shoulder out - lovely and, yes, alluring.  :)

Another vote for the high quality at Reiss.

  • lyn67 replied 1 year ago

OMG, Angie, you mesmerized me with your second photo, you are the epitome of feminity, kindness and elegance-love, love, love your natural hair color! Also love the cold shoulder tops in both picties, and the trouser jeans are indeed sublime!!! WOW2WOW!!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

    You are awfully kind.

Style Fan, I love orange! I think you wear a version of it too?

    Column, thanks!

Debbie, you are a sweetheart. Always positive and inspiring!

April, I know right? We need more trouser jeans options. Me showing some skin is a big change ;) - and yup, Reiss rocks!

Lyn67, you are extremely gracious with your words. I'm blushing. Thank you!

  • AJ replied 1 year ago

Both tops look FAB, but the blue one with your natural hair color sent me into ORBIT!!  You are beautiful!!

  • Janet replied 1 year ago

Angie, I’m just seeing your comment on orange for me. I do wear it sometimes despite the lack of flattery, but mostly just for ultra casual wear, like a t-shirt (Orioles orange :-D) or gear. I like a burnt orange, particularly rust, but usually in a print with blues for more skin tone flattery.

A more coral shade can work for me too, but I haven’t seen much of that around in a while. A friend of mine is a big believer in wearing any color and managing the skin tone issue with a wide variety of lip colors, but I’m a subtle lip person so that doesn’t work well for me. ;-)

All the same, I’m finding it interesting to hold colors up to my face these days to see how the effect is changing a bit as my skin ages and my hair has more light tones in it. My hair has always been cool toned, even my natural old dark brown, unless I was in the sun a lot and it started going a little auburn. Now with the silver grey, it’s even more so!

  • kellygirl replied 1 year ago

Looove this look on you, Angie. Alluring, is right! You are sooo pretty!

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

AJ, soooo nice to see you chime in! Thank you :)

Kelly, you are sweet and gracious!

Janet, I can see you wear burnt orange - not as bright and acidic as Dutch orange - beautifully with cool blues and greys!

  • JP replied 1 year ago

Wow, Angie, fabulous pieces, these look amazing on you. I like your hair too. I hope your toe will be 100% healed soon. Can't wait to see your outfits.

  • Angie replied 1 year ago

JP, that is so sweet! Thank you :)
