OOTD: Simple Streamlined Quality

This is what I'm wearing today to stay at home, do lots of stuff at home, and walk Sam!

The state of Washington - (Seattle is in Washington state for those not in the US) - is not lifting its "stay at home" order next week. It's going to be a while for us. Washington is reopening its economy VERY slowly with California and Oregon, in phases, and with lots of restrictions in place along the way.

So it's my quarantine style at the Cox Castle with my boys for longer! I've been posting my stay at home outfits for 6 weeks....so I shan't repeat the boring drill.

Modelling is not natural for me. I'm glad I'm not an outfit blogger. Sam is a natural. He needs his own blog :)

My growing hair will be Birds Nest Chic by the time I have it cut....... eventually.

I chose a very simple and streamlined Spring outfit formula today because I was in a simple mood:

Trousers + Pullover + Blazer + Sneakers + Crossbody

Actually, most of what is in my wardrobe is simple if you look at it item for item, so I had a lot to choose from! It's the colours, and how the items are combined in an outfit that give the items an interesting integrity.

Here, the items I'm wearing are not only simple and fairly classic, but the quality is exceptional. Beautiful workmanship and fabrics. I LOVE THAT SO MUCH! I have washed the BR citron pullover many times in the machine at home - flawless. The Theory pants are one of the best I own. The Joie blazer is an understated showpiece, and the Furlas speak for themselves. The Eccos are exceptionally well made too.

Which Furla did I choose?

Thanks for looking! Off to take Sam out and make fried rice with leftovers. xo

Your outfit posts bring such joy!! I love the bright colors and am so thankful for your encouraging attitude. Thank you!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

This is such an effortlessly cool outfit.  Looks comfortable - but oh! so chic.  ❤️

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

You look so cute. What great happy poses.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Love sunny yellow sweater - perfect combo with navy and blue!
Theory check crop pants look anything but simple - great fit and subtle print that works well with many pieces/colors.
Sam is a natural model with a sweet disposition ;) .
Smaller crossbody bag in pale blue - handier for walking Sam.

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

You do electric colour like nobody’s business. Your hair looks great. But also, you and Sam are really starting to look alike, you realise that, right? ;)

Sidebar: I think Lilypup looks like my mum... hehe...

  • replied 3 years ago

Perfect . Wish I had picked up that sweater in this colour too - so wonderful for this time of year , although I can’t even imagine wearing wool now . I love these pants on you too - must investigate Theory pants sometime soon . And lastly - how do you take these great selfies ?? You and a few others can do it without holding the phone right in front of you .....and I can’t figure it out !

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

I absolutely love those blue checked pants! Wow, they look fantastic on you. Modeling might not feel natural to you, but you look like a natural to me! Balancing like in #4 is one of my biggest achievements and only happens on a good day :) . Color wise I like the deeper blue bag, but I think the crossbody is more practical for a dog walk.

  • Debbie replied 3 years ago

I love this. It is simple and fab!

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

Simple, cheery and so fresh! You look so pretty, Angie! I can't help but smile when I see your photos. I enjoy your photos more than any outfit blogger--they look genuine and exude a warmth that so many IG bloggers lack. Love you and Sam!

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Adorable-both of you, I do this exact formula today for myself, too!:-)

  • replied 3 years ago

Love the happy citron, and glad to see you're balancing :) Guessing you used the little light blue Furla for your walking meetings w CEO Sam!

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

Proving, once again, it’s all in the details.  Lovely

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

OK I am obsessed with your blazer... you find the neatest pieces, Angie!  You rock brights like no one else.

ps - I think you took the small light blue crossbody ;)

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

I 100% agree with Shevia, you are a natural model, you have that rare quality of being able to project personality into your photographs, similar to Princess Di, who I don’t think ever took a bad photo.

Buying quality is such a good strategy. Your daily outfits are such a delight.

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

I love colors here, and they look great on you.  Sam should have his own blog.

  • Sara L. replied 3 years ago

So cute with the tennies and pearls!  I love the bright yellow sweater.

  • Becky replied 3 years ago

"Modelling is not natural for me." -- You could have fooled me! You do it so well!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

This is lovely, Angie! The trousers are terrific with the blue sneakers!

  • Dana replied 3 years ago

So cute! I really love this outfit! Totally disagree with you...you've got the fashion blogger thing down!! Your poses are so cute and unique. You really should consider a tripod...it's a fun toy, and doubles as a selfie stick. Obviously, you can use it for shots other than selfies...And you could hold Sam with 2 hands.

I think you probably took the light blue cross body, but I think your heart was in the turquoise. Puts my ancient black nylon fanny pack to shame! (I ONLY use it for dog walks...practical and works for my phone/headphones. I never dress nicely for dog walks...too dangerous...long story, lol!)

  • avicennia replied 3 years ago

So cheerful! I’m slowly adding happy colors to my wardrobe, but it’s been slow going.

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

Another outfit for me to copy. Have all the ingredients. I actually like your hair like this.

  • smittie replied 3 years ago

I am enjoying your thoughts on your outfits. I like quality and simplicity too. Those things give me a good feeling.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Love this! To me, this is your style at it's best - classic pieces done in such expected colours and combinations that it looks fresh, fun and energetic!

    I say the darker purse?

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thank you ALL for the awfully kind words. Soooo lovely of you.

    *virtual hugs*

I chose the LIGHT BLUE crossbody….more practical.

Aloha emily and RunCarla, what a nice thing to say!

Joy, kkards, JAileen, Suz and Debbie, posing is easier with stylish Sam! Thanks for being your sweet selves.

Slim Cat and Nemosmom, thank you for your ongoing detailed comments and very positive vibes. It does not go unnoticed!

Rachy, you made my day. I’m lucky to look more like Sam....

Lisa P, you can get the sweater on deep discount! As for the selfies, I do hold the phone in front of me..... or, I don’t know want you mean? You need to stand further away from the mirror to not block your face when you photograph the whole outfit. Does that make sense?

Jaime, Becky and Bijou, you are sooooo gracious! I’m blushing. (It has taken me 5 months to do pose #4 after my fall)

Oh, Kelly. I am awfully touched by your very kind words. THANK YOU to you, and sweet Oreo !

    Lyn67, high five!

avicennia, slow and steady can win the race.

    Suntiger, you’re right!

Sara L, sneakers and pearls are in EVERY OUTFIT these days.

Dana, good to know! But I will soon stop with the outfit posts….

    Anchie, you crack me up.

Smittie, that type of outfit integrity doesn’t get old, does it?

Helena, I loved your observation! I like simple items like you so high five :)

  • replied 3 years ago

Simply gorgeous!  That yellow is everything.  And how can I sign up to be a dog sitter for Sam?  There's probably a loooong waiting list, right? :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Oh, Xtabay, you crack me up. Thanks for that! And your sweet words.

  • Jules replied 3 years ago

I love seeing how all the elements come together, and hope this is the one COVID-related thing that doesn’t change when we finally get to the next normal :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Jules, another who cracked me up! Thank you :)

  • CocoLion replied 3 years ago

I disagree you are a top model, I mean who else has such a variety of poses?  So uplifting and inspiring.  And so much more than sexy face, I think you will make Bella and Gigi Hadid jealous.

Waiting for Sam's Youtube channel / Instagram...

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Denise, another comment that cracked me up - and was so sweet!

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

Love this simple classic quality look but with the yellow to make it very Angie.  And I agree re the poses - you manage to inject your personality into photos which is something I struggle with.

  • replied 3 years ago

And you have perfect teeth :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Sal, you are gracious and look fab in pics!

Suntiger, my bottom teeth are not perfectly straight  :)

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Love seeing your spring outfits. I've been craving more color and am tired of my grays and blacks. This outfit is so fresh and fun.

  • sarah replied 3 years ago

Angie, I absolutely love this look. I'm wondering if you can offer advice on the fit of the pants. I have lost 10 pounds over the past several months, and now all of my 4P pants are too big (most BR Sloans). I've been hesitant to purchase anything until shelter-in-place is over. But the trousers are so nice and of course they are deeply discounted. I'm not sure whether to buy a 2 or a 0. I imagine I would wear a 2P, if they came in petite sizing, but I'm unsure about regular sizing. Thanks for your help!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, sweet Bonnie. Have fun breaking out the colour :)

Sarah, of course I can help with the pants fit! I don't think Theory does petites, unfortunately. I usually wear a US0 in Theory, but the brand is running big this season, and a US00 fits better. My body though, is exactly the same, so it's definitely a fit change. These are a US00. Maybe try a US0. Very hemmable. They are NOT suppose to be skinny!

  • sarah replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, Angie!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Let me know how it goes!

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

You and Sam are both naturals at modeling! I so enjoy seeing your sunny and bright outfits (and outfit poses!) every day.

  • Lucy replied 3 years ago

I know it's driving you batty, but I'm loving your longer hair! It looks fab! And Sam is just killing it in #6! [insert heart-eyed emoji]

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Karie and Lucy, you are both soooo lovely! Thank you :)

  • The Cat replied 3 years ago

Lovely colours. Look very springy. I love the texture of your pullover and have a similar one in burgundy, which I liked to wear last fall and winter, but for spring and summer I prefer lighter/brighter colours.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks,The Cat. Nice to see you chime in, and I hope your parents are okay.

  • The Cat replied 3 years ago

Oh, thank you for remembering my parents, sweet Angie. That really is impressing and heartwarming. My parents are very brave and do not complain. But I know certain things are difficult for them, and I so wish I could be there and give them a helping hand.

Warm wishes for your father, Greg's father, you, Greg and Sam.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

The Cat, I'm sure you are being great support from afar.

  • Style Fan replied 3 years ago

Gorgeous blazer.  A denim blazer is so perfect.  Well, it is for my wardrobe.  I love how you put your pieces together.
