OOTD: Old Spring Fave

This is what I'm wearing today to stay at home, work, organize, cook, and walk Sam! It's been a lovely mild and sunny day, although the wind and rain have just set in :(

Our stay-at-home order will not be lifted soon, so we're carrying on.... in quarantine......doing our thing.

The daily drill for my AT HOME LOOK: shower, 11 week old haircut that has found a new sweet spot, shoved behind my ears!, some make-up, an outfit that panders to my feelings when I get dressed, at home only sneakers, and some important accessories.

I was in the mood for a more complex vibe this morning after yesterday's simple look. I chose an outfit I wear every Spring with a pair of updated white jeans. So here, the Everlane jeans are new this year, and everything else is 4 to 5 years old. The items are gorgeous quality and look new! ........back in the day when J.Crew made beautiful stuff.

The blouse and scarf are a twinset match. I LOVE it! The colours lift my spirits, and the scarf is a fab wrap for when I work at my desk and feel a chill. I couldn't be more comfortable.

I wear a mask whenever I go out. Goodbye lipstick.

Sam thinks that Platypus and Grimbold Dragon are much more compelling than my silly outfit. I agree! :)

Something went wrong with my phone settings when I took pics of the look with the coat. Sorry about the blurred pics.

Feeling calm, strong, and positive! Off to walk Sam, vacuum, and make salmon supper. Thanks for looking! xo

Beautiful, bright, stylish and optimistic ... Just like you Angie!

Love Sam in those colours ... I would have sworn he was an Autumn, but I'm now convinced he'd definitely a Spring! :D

  • replied 3 years ago

You look so good in scarves!

Love the hair and love the twinset! Why is this top/scarf formula not seen more often? I would buy this! Even though my neck is neither slender nor long!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

What a bright and cheerful outfit!   And your hair looks lovely.  Sam steals the show yet again.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Bright and sunny - it really suits you, Angie!
Sam is doing his thing - brining joy and fun to everyone :) .
    Great pose in #14!

  • Preppy Pear replied 3 years ago

Love this. Great twinset, and I think your hair still looks great!

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

What happy colors (again) Angie! Your hair is looking great!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

Another happy-making outfit.  How fun is the co-ordinating top and scarf!  Isn’t that interesting how hair can drive you nuts, and then suddenly settle into place - a different place - but something workable.

So Sam is adding ‘father of dragons’ to his resume?

  • CarolS replied 3 years ago

what an energizing look, Angie. I adore the sweater/scarf twinset, and your hair really does look amazing. Thanks for sharing!

I hear you on the hair issue. I had my last haircut at the beginning of January. I had it cut super short and was planning to have it cut in February while on a trip so I could see my previous stylist, but Covid 19 cancelled that opportunity. Love the flower top and scarf combo. I ordered those jeans in my regular size and they were way too big so I sent them back to exchange for the next size down. Hopefully I'll get them some day.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks so much, ladies!

Helena, that is so gracious, thank you. I’ll tell Sam he’s a Spring and not an Autumn :)

Phoebe, I know, right? I haven't seen the combination set again.

    JAileen, I live with a blog star….

Slim Cat, Preppy Pear, Nemosmon and CarolS, you are LOVELY. I appreciate the sweet words.

Carla, yes! Weird how that happens with the hair. (Sam is Father of Toys).

bonnie, I hope the jeans work in the smaller size! They are roomy.

I swear the highlight of my day is seeing you model your wardrobe . Some of these pieces I’ve never seen, like this blouse and scarf set . It’s STUNNING! I’d wear this in a heartbeat . Great new jeans too . Our province just announced reopening of business in certain sectors starting Monday ! Hair salons and clothing regulars are among them . My hair salon is in the midst of a big renovation and isn’t ready to open so suddenly , but I’m actually not in a hurry for a cut at all . My hair actually looks better than it has in ages , which freaks me out a bit .

Salmon is my favorite protein.  Can one eat too much salmon?

The scarf and top twinset is beautiful and won't date.  I hope you have it forever as it's unique.  Those white jeans look amazing on you!!  Inspiring me to try a pair in this style.

Sam looks quite fierce with the toy that is his equal in body size.  Mighty Fearless Sam!

  • avicennia replied 3 years ago

I’ve also discovered that masks and lipstick don’t mix! Love the blouse and scarf. They are the type of clothes I’m looking for now.

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

That blouse and scarf are gorgeous! Sam looks stunning wrapped up in the scarf, too. Definitely his colors.

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

You look amazing! Your hair looks beautiful with the waves - completely intentional and not like you are overdue for a haircut. The outfit is one of my favorites from the quarantine OOTDs, and that is saying a lot because every day's outfit is a complete delight. But the pose in #14, you manage to balance and smile and take a picture? I am impressed although slightly tempted to warn you to be careful! Thank you for sharing these day brighteners!

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

There's our ray of sunshine. Those are such happy colors on you. Lovely as ever. I think this is one of my fave SIP outfits!

  • Mac replied 3 years ago

Awww.  Sam is giving us his "Blue Steel" pose.  What a gorgeous pup! <3

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Fresh as a daisy and Sam looks like he enjoys the attention and playtime. I look forward to your happy outfits each day.

This print really brings out your eyes, Angie! It's especially dynamite with your red specs. Amazing outfit! It's funny how hair can get to a really exasperating point, and then just a little beyond that, it reaches a better point and starts to fall into place again--especially with waves.

  • Kate replied 3 years ago

Your hair looks beautiful, Angie, and that is a gorgeous print on you.

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Omg. Brilliant!

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

I love a twinset.  And the happy colors here are make it even better.  Another happy and joyful outfit

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

    That is a great print!
And actually, your soft hair tousled look is pretty and flattering.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

I'm with lisa p your daily outfits are the highlights of my day, Angie!:-) (how I've missed them so much in the past...)
OTOH what an out of order twin set, top and scarf, love it!!
And you both  look so cheery!

  • Vildy replied 3 years ago

I don't think I've ever seen anyone so naturally pretty that they glowed in a phone pic.  You look like the ultimate in good health and good spirits.
    Long may you thrive.

  • replied 3 years ago

Such happy colors and awww Sam + platypus :) Yay for your dancer pose! I think you should keep your hair longer post Covid- the waves look so pretty!

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

I’m really liking your longer wavy hair, Angie. And yes, there should be more coordinating tops and scarves like this! What a great effect. Sam is fierce.

  • Murph11 replied 3 years ago

So very beautiful and cheery! You’ve inspired me to wear a bright pink blazer for my weekly grocery shopping this morning!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

I remember you buying this twinset (and a green one) and thinking "next summer when JCrew makes one of these, I'm ordering it" - alas they have not repeated these styles of blouses and scarf combinations. I love these bright and cheerful colours - just gorgeous.

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

Lovely as always, Angie and you make it look so effortless... but I'm sad to inform you Sam's mauling of one of my nation's protected fauna species will result in an angry worded letter to my local MP and perhaps within the next few days you'll experience a late night visit from an Australian SAS search and rescue team to seize said mauled platypus.

Don't worry, they don't blow up stuff " nearly " as much as they used to back in the '80s.

  • Becky replied 3 years ago

Oh, these are happy colors. They are especially lovely when paired with crisp white jeans. And Sam is such a lovable little guy! You can almost see the mischief in his eyes.

  • Style Fan replied 3 years ago

What a wonderful twinset, Angie!  I wish J. Crew still made these.  Your outfit is bright and cheery.  Perfect for today.  Sam is a cutie.

  • Roxanna replied 3 years ago

I love your daily posts, Angie! And that top and scarf set is a gem. You are right about old j Crew - I've gotten rid of my more recent stuff from them and don't really buy from them anymore, but my old gems keep hanging on - so well made, and the fabrics and prints are so distinctive. You've inspired me to pull out some of my old pieces to play!

  • JuniperGreen replied 3 years ago

The colors in that print were made for you!  (And Sam wears it well too!  I love his adoring gaze at you in those shots)

  • karen13 replied 3 years ago

So fresh and pretty. I really look forward to your outfits. I hadn’t seen this twinset look before - fantastic.

  • Keturah replied 3 years ago

I love how sunny your wardrobe and you are! You're like a daffodil emerging in spring, cheerful and jubilant.

........back in the day when J.Crew made beautiful stuff.
I remember those days! Though I never could afford to buy much, what I did buy lasted. It was super high quality. I had a pair of super wide leg trouser cut khakis in a faded red color that I wore off and on for over six years. Gave them away, wish I had them back. Then there was a beautiful satin formal dress in Spiced Wine--an intense, deep red-violet plum. It had this gorgeous ruffled surplice neckline! I wore it to a wedding. Also gave it away--when would I ever wear satin again? Now I wish I had it, if only to look at it occasionally for pleasure. :)

  • citygirldc replied 3 years ago

Your hair is growing out wonderfully. YLF Forever!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

WOW. Thank you SOOOO much ladies! Really appreciate the kind words and compliments :)

I have stuff to do and organize, so I'll back later to reply more fully.

  • Debbie replied 3 years ago

I love these colors. It makes me happy just looking at this outfit. I need a blouse with lots of colors.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks again to everyone, for taking the time to look and comment. I had intended to reply more fully but the day ran away from me. Please know that I appreciate your compliments enormously!

  • vintagetomboy replied 3 years ago

Really cute outfit! I love your red glasses! :)

  • JP replied 3 years ago

Late comment, but you look so good in these pictures, I love your outfit and you make me want to get in my closet and play... And maybe take pictures

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, ladies! Humbled to have inspired you.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

I loved that twinset then and I love it just as much now. GORGEOUS colours on you. You were made for the spring palette!! Plus, white denim, of course. :)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thank you! Can we bless our Spring weather too :)
