OOTD: Lemon Squash

(*sorry about the bad quality of the pics - weird light).

This is what I'm wearing today. At home. Nowhere to go but walk Sam. No grocery shopping either (doing that next week). Staying strong, safe, calm, positive, and at home with my boys doing a million and one things. Why am I so busy??? Greg says I need to slow down and relax. Sam has the right idea :)

The daily drill for my AT HOME LOOK: shower, styled hair, and make-up, an outfit that panders to my feelings when I get dressed, at home only sneakers, and some important accessories.

After my early work out this morning, I saw that it would  be a beautiful 18C Spring day. WOOOHOOOO! The nice weather helps a LOT.

I thought: I'm going to wear my favourite white jeans! And combine them with citron and light blue to match the sun and gorgeous blue sky. Hence the outfit was born.

Two toppers. Both light blue. Fuzzy trucker for a cooler morning, and denim jacket for a milder afternoon. Denim jacket is 5 years old. Citron Furla is as old, but refreshed with a new guitar strap. Rest is last season or this season.

**for the record: This is not an outfit I would scrub the house is ;)

Masks are strongly recommended around here, and half the people are wearing them. No matter what I do, I can't get my specs to stop fogging up. Very, very annoying. Sam thinks my mask is annoying too. Gets in the way of kisses. Oh well! I shan't complain about it again. Onward!

Thanks for looking. I'm off to be a busy bee again. I want to make ricotta fritters....

My husband complains that his mask makes his glasses fog up, too.  I found this suggestion, but haven’t tried it myself.

Your outfit is so cheerful and springy.  Pale blue and yellow remind me of UCLA.  Sam is adorable, as always.

  • Helena replied 4 years ago

Absolutely lovely Angie ... A ray of sunshine! Sam is just adorable. Always puts a smile on my face :) You can even rock a mask!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks, Janet! I will give it a try.

You are gracious as always, Helena :)

  • anne replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous outfit! White is so reliably fresh. Your maximum is our minimum, BTW! We are heading for a record hot Easter.

*wipes Scottish Ale off phone at Sam trying to kiss you*
Love those colors! Sunshine, puffy clouds, and blue sky :)
    *carries off ricotta fritter*

Another happy ensemble!  Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.

Really nice - i need some yellow in my life . Is the denim jacket a very very pale blue ? The fit is phenomenal ! And although I seem to have a million pair of summer shoes , a pale blue sneaker is looking very appealing and useful for whenever we are ever out in public again .

What a wonderful inspiration for your outfit!

I was looking at these pics when my DD (16 yr) walked by and did a double take and asked, "Is that Angie?"  When I said yes, she said, "How is she looking younger?  She looks 20 yrs. old!"

    :)

Beautiful spring outfit - "invigorating lemon"!
Sam is such a sweetheart in #14 and almost like a toy in #16 :) .

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

Poor Sam! Luckily you don't have to wear the mask at home. I tried experimenting with a homemade mask for my walk yesterday but it was hard to breathe. We are required to wear them outdoors beginning Sunday and I plan to make use of my scarves at last.
Your outfit is beautiful as ever - a spring tonic for the eyes!

So lovely, I knew from the post title this was going to be all sorts of wonderful and it is! We have a max of 36C, don’t know when Autumn will arrive, but not complaining, so lovely to get that warmth and sunshine and getting laundry done is a breeze.

  • Bonnie replied 4 years ago

I love lemon yellow and you wear it best and the guitar strap looks fab with the Furla. Sam is right, face masks are annoying. We only have to wear them when its difficult to practice physical distancing. We are getting groceries delivered and a box of fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers delivered weekly. We only leave the house for our daily walk but since we live in a rural area, physical distancing is not a problem.

Wow- joyful attire. That bag is so captivating and with white and light blue is especially fresh. High 5 on how powerful a warmer sunny day is. Well played. Sam is adorable; what a refreshing distraction he must be.

  • jasmine replied 4 years ago

Such a fresh and joyful look! And Sam is adorable as always.

Re mask fogging, that has been irritating me too, but I just tried a tip I recently heard of, and it really worked! Basically you fold a tissue and place it inside the mask, over the bridge of your nose. I think this will only work with disposable surgical masks that you can mold to fit the shape of your nose, however. You can see it demonstrated in this video, from about 0:18.

  • jasmine replied 4 years ago

Sorry, posted wrong video! The one I posted shows the tissue technique from about 0:20.

I’m glad to see CEO Sam hasn’t let his new responsibilities get in the way of relaxation and still has time for his favorite toys
I love the way the citron works with the light/baby blue.  Feels Like spring and seeing this outfit makes me smile.

  • Staysfit replied 4 years ago

Angie, it’s nice to see your happy colorful stay at home outfits.  Citron and pale blue look great with your red specs!

  • unfrumped replied 4 years ago

Wow, this IS a breath of fresh air!

  • Inge replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous!! You really are a delightful ray of sunshine beaming into our homes, Angie, thank you for that!!

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Another killer spring outfit! LOVE the citron and light blue. It matches the sunshine and blue sky and daffodils. Sam looks adorable, too. Although what is that naughty boy doing on the TABLE?  ;)

  • Becky replied 4 years ago

Oh, so fresh and springy looking. I think your wavy hair seems springy, too!

  • Preppy Pear replied 4 years ago

Super duper pretty! I especially like the bag strap and the touch of red from your specs.
And Sam may be in bed, but he looks like he’s plotting something!

  • Laurie replied 4 years ago

This color combo with your eyes and hair is just insanely great.

I need to be busier .... my work is so quiet, and it's made me much more anxious.

  • taylor replied 4 years ago

No one wears sour brights like you!  SO refreshing to see this color combo.  Beautiful with your complexion!  Carry on...you inspire us daily!

  • anchie replied 4 years ago

I am looking forward to your OOTD every day and you don’t disappoint. This one is in my favorite color scheme and I may copy it hopefully soon.

  • Joyce B replied 4 years ago

Lovely and happy outfit. The fuzzy trucker jacket completes it very nicely.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Oh, ladies. You are all SOOOOO lovely! Thanks soooo much! I apprecaie the kind cheer leading. It boosts my immune system :)

  • LeandraofBleuAvenue replied 4 years ago

I especially like the light blue being in the mix.  Yellow and white is a nice combo, but the light blue really gives it that extra something.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks for the positive thoughts, ladies.

JAileen, I tried the soapy water trick. It helped a bit.

Jasmine, thank you. Tried the folding and tissue trick too. It didn't work :(

Lisa P, YES. The denim jacket is a very, very light blue, and with white buttons. The white buttons launched me into orbit when I saw the jacket and I had to have it. I got it in Amsterdam with Inge. And I can't rave enough about light blue sneaks. They work with everything!

AJ, DD cracks me up :) - please tell her thank you.

Suntiger, I made apple cake instead of ricotta fritters.... and I'm not complaining!

Jaime, we should be getting our cloth masks soon, and I will report back!

Anne and Bijou, I will happily swap weather with you!

Bonnie, a BIG STAY AT HOME HIGH FIVE.

Suz and Preppy Pear, CEO's are allowed on the table, and can plot plans in bed. :)

  • Sal replied 4 years ago

You look absolutely radiant! How great is your skin!

And I have light blue sneakers and also find them versatile.

  • rachylou replied 4 years ago

    Perfection!

Is Sam getting ready to hold a staff meeting?

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks, sweet Sal. Go Team Wide Crops!

Rachy, YES. The CEO is prepping....

  • smittie replied 4 years ago

Wonderful! Such a treat to have you post a daily outfit!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

How did I miss such an upbeat post? You glow. Sam make me smile.
I also have my sunglasses fog up when wearing a mask and will try the suggestions. I also read but have not yet tried washing the glasses in shaving cream to keep them from fogging.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Smittie and Joy, you are lovely.

    Shaving cream! :)

  • madeline replied 4 years ago

I like the fluffy blue jacket best but both jackets look great with the yellow.
Keep posting the Outfit of the Day.
I really look forward to these posts.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Awwh, madeline. You are sweet.

  • Cee replied 4 years ago

It's great for avoiding scurvy !

  • jasmine replied 4 years ago

Angie, I'm sorry to hear that the methods I suggested for preventing glasses from fogging up when wearing masks didn't work for you. If I hear of any other methods that others haven't already posted here, I will let you know. It is SO irritating (and  potentially dangerous if driving or riding a bike) when your glasses fog up.

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

I suspect that glasses will be less likely to fog when the weather gets warmer and warm moist air is not hitting cold glasses.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Cee, :)

Jasmine, thanks for trying! You are very sweet.

Joy, EXACTLY. That's the problem. The humidify hitting you specs.
