OOTD: FFBO Trendy Dutch Comfort

This what I'm wearing today. At home. Nowhere to go! Walking Sam multiple times a day in fabulous Spring weather. The Seattle weather angels are to be commended :)

I was extra distracted this morning - (I'm kind of always distracted since COVID-19 hit WA, actually. It takes me longer to do everything). I get up early, and that's the time I catch up with family in the Netherlands/London, and the village looking after my Dad because of the time zone difference. Before I know it, it's hours later. No time for working out these past few days. I'm too preoccupied at the moment. We'll see how things go later this week. One day at a time....

The daily drill for my AT HOME LOOK: shower, hair that is harder and harder to style but effectively trimmed by Greg!, some make-up, an outfit that panders to my feelings when I get dressed, at home only sneakers, and some important accessories.

I chose a casual FFBO (Fast Fall Back Outfit) this morning because I had a lot to do. My Spring FFBO:

Trendy Wide Crop Jeans + Short Boxy Top + Sneakers + Short Topper + Crossbody

Very Dutch: blue and white, trendy yet classic, very sensible footwear, crossbody.

I LOVE this short boxy navy shirt! The white buttons launched me into orbit, and the curved hem cleverly gives it some shape and interest.

My favourite white jeans.

Light blue sneakers go with everything.

Light blue crossbody creates a complement with the sneaks.

Old seafoam leather jacket adds a bit of tonal interest.

Mask on outside, but forgot to photograph that.

Sam is sporting his woolly sheep hippie vibe since he can't go to the parlour to have his hair cut .... (like you and me!). I think he's pulling it off with verve and panache.

Thanks for looking :)

I'm off to unpack and sanitize groceries that were delivered. We found a delivery window a week ago. It's like finding treasure on your doorstep. My word....

Love the spring look: navy top with white jeans! What could be better?

So many cute doggie photos. I'm wishing I had a dog these days, but I have two aging cats to take care of and I don't think they'd be happy.

  • Marilyn replied 2 years ago

Another fab outfit, Angie.  I'm loving blue and white for spring/summer.   I'm planning my wardrobe based on our current stay at home and around the neighbourhood for walks situation.  That said, footwear will be sneakers and flat sandals.

I LOVE how Sam is always looking up at his mama in photos.  So sweet!

  • JAileen replied 2 years ago

Navy and white is my favorite spring/summer color scheme.  It’s very fresh looking.

Walking Sam counts as going somewhere!

  • Sal replied 2 years ago

Lovely outfit Angie.  I like Sam's shaggy look.

I am also distracted and doing a bit less exercise this week......but as you say one day at a time.

This shirt and pants combo is fabulous on you.  Very Euro Chic.

  • Karie replied 2 years ago

You certainly do rock navy and white - such a fresh, springy color combo!

Sam sports the hippie look very well!

  • Becky replied 2 years ago

Love the navy + orange strap! And Sam always steals the show! :-)

  • Helena replied 2 years ago

You know I love this one Angie! You look so good in blue!

I can relate to your feelings about the groceries. I found a bottle of hand sanitizer I didn't know I had today and felt like I'd found a $50 in an old wallet :D

Hope your dad is feeling well today Angie xx

  • kellygirl replied 2 years ago

You're such a character, Angie! Love the white crops with the blue. Such a refreshing and calming look. Sam is lucky to have such a stylish walking partner. You look lovely as ever!!

  • slim cat replied 2 years ago

Applaud Sam's great coordinating abilities - colors of the collar and doggy' tags are perfect with his mom polished casual outfit  :) !
Great spring outfit - all my fav colors: light blue, navy, white and sea foam green.
Love that added touch of brightness in the bag' strap, eyeglasses and Sam's red doggy tag.

  • RobinF replied 2 years ago

Haha cute modeling! Love the blue and white, very springy.

Sam is going to be very sad when you guys eventually go back to work.
He clearly relishes his important modeling role as part of his CEO duties.

Your daily outfits are so fun to view, and something I look forward to every afternoon.

    Hang in there...

Sam does not look very wooly to me - just cute and fluffy :) Another outfit I love and would wear in a heartbeat . That shirt is fabulous !

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Puppy kisses! Sam is the best accessory. Love this sassy look.

  • Bijou replied 2 years ago

Such a fresh and pretty look, I love the Dutch theme going on, even down to the orange bag strap.

  • Barbara Diane replied 2 years ago

Loving regularly seeing your photos :).

  • Jaime replied 2 years ago

Ugh with the time difference. I am lucky that my communications window is around 2-4pm. I am not ready to talk first thing in the morning!
You look like the sky on a beautiful day. Meanwhile Sam is my shag hairstyle inspo right now.

  • taylor replied 2 years ago

Sam is looking Fuffy !  But don’t mention to him  I said that :)
I love the way this outfit builds....it’s really interesting how it evolves as you add pieces.  It starts out great and goes to off the chart Fabulous by the time you add the bag.  The pop of color just pulls it all together beautifully!

  • Bonnie replied 2 years ago

You look great in your FFBO. That shirt looks perfect with your wide leg pants. Nordstrom had a good sale price on the Ecco blue sneakers you are wearing so I ordered them. I had been seriously considering them for awhile because they seem to go so well with so many of your casual outfits. They arrived within two days and I absolutely adore them. They are a perfect fit and so comfy. Sam looks really happy in #15.

  • rachylou replied 2 years ago

Smashing! I say, tho, is this Dutch? Do I need to watch newer tv shows? Hehe ;) Also: I love Sam’s little face. So sweet and pure. Also: I have never seen your blue rug!

  • anchie replied 2 years ago

Another great outfit, so many inspiration for the future dressing.

I woke up this morning around 5am and found delivery window for 27th April. Yey!

  • Cee replied 2 years ago

    Sam-sational !!

  • anne replied 2 years ago

    Great outfit.

I so empathize about getting distracted and things taking longer to do. That's so me at the moment too. The to do list I optimistically laid out of stuff to do while at home has many items unchecked off - even stuff like watching TV!

It's interesting about delivery. I get a very strong vibe from the US (from here and other sites) that it is considered the best way to get your groceries etc to help out the whole community. In Australia, however, grocery delivery at least for the main supermarkets is restricted to priority customers - eg the vulnerable because of age or health conditions. So healthy, young people like me can't get it.  I imagine this is because delivery culture is much less developed here (and our number of cases are much lower, with lower community transmission, especially in my state)

  • kkards replied 2 years ago

If spring ever goes back (somehow we have snow in the forecast this week) I’m going to copy this look.  This is a denim on denim look I can get behind.  Nice

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 2 years ago

Anne, in the US, access to such things is determined by $$. If you can pay for delivery, you can have it. In some states, money for food assistance cannot be used to pay for delivery.

Angie, you look adorable. Each piece makes this outfit better. I love your cheery couch cushions too. Do you wear shoes in the house?

  • lyn67 replied 2 years ago

Such a fab outfit,  I love the wide legs, the big contrast  and early nautical theme -love the light blue accents and o Sam's natural do:-), and can so  relate to your distraction-  hope your dear Papa is doing better each day and everything will be sorted soon-despite all the other huge difficulties you are so blessed to have a whole village looking after him!

  • ChristelJ replied 2 years ago

How can a simple outfit be so fantastic? Those are my favorite jeans of yours to date. Thanks so much for the daily shot of happiness from the sparkling Cox castle. Exciting to get groceries at your door; enjoy!

  • Laurie replied 2 years ago

    Angie, lovely again!

The distraction thing is so real, isn't it? I'm usually a pretty focused person and I simply cannot stay on task most of the time lately. I was even distracted during yoga and my exercise routine today. Really hard to get through it. And, I have that experience of hours just melting away at work.

I love those soft blue Eccos more each time you wear them.

  • catherine replied 2 years ago

I love your outfit today. And thanks so very much for keeping this community rolling. Morning is a very anxious time for me these days, and I really look forward to checking in with YLF. It helps.

  • Janet replied 2 years ago

I love navy blue and white, and this is such a great spring outfit. Sam is just the cutest, as always.

I hear you 100% on distractions and everything seeming to expand to fill the days. Other than some laundry and food prep, the only thing I “accomplished” yesterday was a 7.5 mile hike and a nice soak in the tub afterward. LOL

I hope your father is doing ok today.

  • Joyce B replied 2 years ago

Nice look, it reminds me to bring out my white jeans and thin denim top.
Sam can only look cute. If you want him to be in a shorter cut, now would be the time for you to trim his hair as it will be easiest to follow the lines of the previous cut.
I hope your Dad is feeling better.

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

Ooh! This is such a great look on you. Well, of course, you knew I would say that, right? :) Blue and white!!!

That denim shirt is really cute with the white stitching! I had not seen it. It's at a nice cropped length for high waisted pants. Hmmm. I already own 2 denim shirts but I do wear them with regularity, so maybe I will need to add another. :)

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Thank you all sooo much for the awfully kind and compassionate words. They are therapeutic. Virtual hugs!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Go Team Blue & White. Classic and fab, right?

Peggy, YES. CEO Sam wants to keep quarantine just the way it is…

Jaime, HAH! I guess I’m lucky I’m a morning person.

bonnie, waving at my sneaker twin!

Anne, YES. Countries differ in their infrastructure and strategies. Makes sense. Here in the US we are geared up for delivery of almost everything. You pay more for the delivery, and leave a tip. It’s better to get delivery of groceries if you can get the window - (very hard to get!) - and have the means because it makes you stay at home - which our state is pleading us to do. Fewer people out, fewer people touching things. Easier to minimize the spread. It has been working in Washington state. California too. WA state was the epicentre before NY, so we have been at this all for longer.

FashIntern, I do not wear outside shoes at home. Only slippers and designated INDOOR footwear like these sneakers. At-home-on! You can read about that here id you like :

Suz, the shirt is not denim. It’s navy cotton!

  • suntiger replied 2 years ago

    *carries off happy rug/couch/pillows*
I like your outfit especially with the jacket, such a pretty color!
And Sam knows, guys with long hair are cuter :)

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

    Suntiger, thank you!

I'm afraid the cushions are staying put! And Sam sends thank you licks :)

  • Cee replied 2 years ago

Sam gets a Hollywood agent and will ultimately dump you and live a shallow, wasted life before a teary reunion in the end.

...I've seen the movies and we all know movies don't lie !!

  • anne replied 2 years ago

Angie, I understand the reasoning, and lots of people here would love to have that capability too for the same rrason - I read comments asking about it on social media frequently! But there just aren't enough delivery trucks so they brought in the limits to who can get them. I am glad the shops have relaxed limits on bread and milk at least, so I don't have to go twice a week.

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

Anne, the way Australia is handling things makes sense. Petrol is also relatively cheap in the US, so yes - LOTS of cars and delivery trucks on the road already. Infrastructure was there. People over the age 60 can shop FIRST in grocery stores here - from 7am to 8am. It's a good measure. Your bread and milk measure too ;)

  • anne replied 2 years ago

Yes we have seniors hour from 7-8 as well as the deliveries. There's a separate timeslot for front line workers too.
Mind you, there are still plenty of older folk shopping when I do, eg later in the day. My shopping day coincides with a day one of the cheaper supermarkets I go to has a concession discount so that might explain it.
