OOTD: EASY Emotional Comfort

This is what I'm wearing today to work from home, clean, cook, organize, catch up, watch the news, and walk Sam. It's the usual quarantine modus operandi at the Cox Castle.

My day started as early - 5am - with phone calls to the Netherlands that went on for a while. Despite the stress and a bad's night's sleep, I felt surprisingly energized, calm, strong, and more positive today. I had a lot to do, and got right to it. Thank you adrenaline, and my therapeutic home setting with my precious boys!

Pandering to my need for emotional comfort and EASY dressing - nothing remotely complicated today please - I chose to wear simple signature wardrobe items that soothe my mind, body and spirit. For me, that means Trendy Classic:

White jeans + Striped Top + Sour Brights + Happy Feet

Sam's collar matches my outfit perfectly. I can't help it ;)

TEN year old citron trench coat.

You know my quarantine drill ......styled hair, make-up, at home sneakers..... blah, blah, bah......

I have officially joined Team Rate Hair. Goodbye polished 'do.....

I'll be taking another personal day tomorrow. Making more therapeutic cake, attending to Dad from afar, and scrubbing the house. It's mop the loft day tomorrow. Wooohooo! I love a gleaming floor. So this is the last outfit post for this week.

Thanks for looking. I'm off to sanitize, and heat up leftovers. More easy stuff tonight :)

Love it ! Easy yet pulled together . Loving the shot of citrus here too - so summer-like .

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

So cheerful and electric! What kinda cake we talking? :D

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks, Pat. Sweet of you.

Lisa P, the easiest, right! Thank you. And I vote citron year round :)

Rachy, yay for cheerful! And a THIRD apple cake. Greg's request. I'm not complaining.

  • smittie replied 3 years ago

    Wonderful!
But your position on Team rate hair is pretty disputable.
Sam can see everything from his perch :-)

  • replied 3 years ago

Sorry- not Rate :) Love the citron coat especially!

    Lovely style.
Photograph #16 is one of the best I have seen.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Bright, happy, candy colors - very pretty!
Your hairdo is still more polished than the most of stay at home ladies' -
more like "free styled"  :) . Sam rocks "natural style" in his look ;) .

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Angie, you look beautiful! Truly, you make it look so easy, when I know it is not. The bright vibrant happy colours make all the difference -- and look, you match your house!

#16 is an amazing pic!!! Sam Sam Sam the Ham!!!

It’s mop the floor day here tomorrow too! So exciting. And early morning grocery shopping, which has become a terrifying experience here in NY. I practically wear a full suit of armor and them come home and boil myself in a super hot shower!
Anywho, I love that striped top - is it orange or red? Orange is my new red - my new favorite color.
You and Sam look fabulous as always!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

What a sunny outfit!  I love the interesting stripes.  I hope your dad’s issues get figured out.  Sam rules!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Yum!

  • CarolS replied 3 years ago

Sunny and stunning as always. Enjoy a well-deserved day for yourself.

  • catherine replied 3 years ago

Have a peaceful Friday. I’m sure you need the break.

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

I just love this on you, Angie. That red/white striped sweater has been in my cart forever. I love how you wear it with the white and citron. It's a happy outfit for sure. You look so fresh and stylish!

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Ok, you cracked me up with your joining team RATE hair. Angie, as a new member of our club, we will grant you some leniency but you have some ways to go before your hair becomes truly RATE!
Regardless, you look positively glowing and full of vitality, and I am glad you are having a good vibes day! You are completely spoiling us with your OOTDs and, as much as I love them, I hope you feel free to take a day off whenever you like.

Oh, gosh, Angie, your routine sounds kind of like mine last month. Get the phone calls done first thing, and then take care of the rest (or let it take care of itself). You look so adorable in this simple outfit that is so you. And photo 16 could not be cuter. Take care, and have a nice personal day!

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Your Trendy Classic look is great and your smile is the perfect accessory.

  • AJ replied 3 years ago

(admiring sigh) I think it's more like team Great Hair!  :)

Enjoying all the cheerful outfits you have posted so far!  You and cutie pie Sam really do put a big smile on my face.  Thank you!

I pray for more positive phone calls for you on Friday. Please send our warmest YLF greetings to your sweet dad!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

White jeans, citron and pearls make for a happy outfit and are what I consider classic Angie components. Feeling calm is so good. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Of course, this is really energising! Adoring the bright whites and colors-and-today is my firts day in white jeans  this season (for works as we still work as usual) but did you really get dressed the outfit at 5am???? (I would be tempted to start the day and do chores in my PJ-s that early)..OMG, sorry to hear you always have such an early schedule- guess you don't have problems falling asleep in the evening, do you get  enough rest??

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

Yes to simple and easy.  Yes to dressing for emotional comfort. Very nice.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Love this Angie! If that's RATE hair, there needs to be a new term invented for mine lately :D

  • Style Fan replied 3 years ago

You look like a ray of sunshine.  I am not sure I would call your hair RATE but it is pretty.  Sam is adorable.  Love the matchy matchy collar.

  • Laura replied 3 years ago

You and Sam are a match made in matchy-matchy heaven! Enjoy your personal day. Fridays are good days for self-nurturing.

  • Windchime replied 3 years ago

You look relaxed and happy in this cheerful outfit. Sam is a sweetie pie, as always.

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

Adorable, the two of you :D

Oh, and I found this online:

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

...For Sam's senior dawg days or just for the helluvit !

  • Jane replied 3 years ago

Wishing you a restful day. I love the red and citron. Ylf xx

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

Easy dressing FTW! You always look polished though, and I don’t think your hair could be RATE if you tried. :-D

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

Easy classics in sour brights! So much to love here! Your outfits are always so cheerful and I look forward to that.  Sam is a stylish match. What a little love he must be.
Your hair looks soft, flattering and still stylish. I wouldn’t say RATE at all.

  • The Cat replied 3 years ago

High five to your red and white outfit! I didn't know about it when I dressed for this night, so I couldn't help smiling in surprise when I just saw it. My own outfit: White jeans, long graphic white tee with a print in teal, pink and more colours, white socks with red hearts, white Birks, red cardigan, short necklace with white chunky pearls, and torquoise glasses.

  • Laurie replied 3 years ago

Oh my gosh # 16 is just beyond adorable!
Rest up, sweet Angie. I was worried about you this week.
    Liking the evolving hairstyle....
Scrubbing on my agenda, too. And, maybe some cake.
    xoxoxo

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thank you all soooo much! REALLY appreciate the kind and therapeutic words. The laughs too :)

Karie, nerve wracking for sure, and hope you are back safely and soundly. Sweater is a WARM red.

    Kelly, try the sweater!

The Cat, your outfit sounds great. High five to the white jeans.

Sharan, I know you get it. Much love to you. xo

Laurie, scubbing and cake = quarentine life! Thanks for thinking of me.

Slim Cat, I'll take "free-styled" hair - thank you!

Lyn67, we are not good sleepers unfortunately. I wore my lounge pants for the 6am meeting :)

Jaime and Smittie, good to know my RATE hair is disputable :)
