OOTD: BIG Shirt

This is what I'm wearing to stay at home today, and walk Sam! Gorgeous weather and 21C, which helps a great ideal. Unusual for Seattle at this time of year, and quite the gift. WOW!

The early morning was stressful. I spent 3.5 hrs on the phone to the Netherlands and London sorting things out and finding solutions for my Dad. We found some solutions, and Papa is doing okay.

FWIW, I could spend the day sad and crying about the state of the world at the moment, because it's absolutely devastating. I've shed my share of tears and had sad days. I force myself out of that mindset because it doesn't help the world, or me, or those around me. Immune systems are boosted by positive thinking, and that's very important. The best thing I can do to help the world is stay healthy, calm, at home, very busy, strong for others, look after my chickens, and get the job done (whatever that means from day to day). So my chin was UP by mid morning!

The daily drill for my AT HOME LOOK: shower, hair that is harder and harder to style but effectively trimmed by Greg!, some make-up, an outfit that panders to my feelings when I get dressed, at home only sneakers, and some important accessories.

I felt like wearing old lemon jeans that make me think of sweet Italy, and my new trendy Zara shirt that's been waiting for a warm sunny day. A little lace peaking out adds some pretty. An old light blue denim jacket for the breezy wind by the water is a must! And at-home-only Seinfeld sneakers support my feet.

Sam is on a modelling hiatus, and on Team Playtime for now.... ;)

Thanks for looking! I'm off to cook and rest my still not perfect back. I'll  be taking the day off tomorrow so that I can get in some yoga after the early morning hustle and bustle with the other side of the world. Make sure my Dad is okay, and scrub the house!

Have a wonderful weekend, and take care everyone. xo

So pretty and fresh - love how you model that asymmetrical Zara shirt
( better than the model ).
Love how Sam adds more warm earth colors in the pictures - goes well with your lemon jeans' print :) .
Enjoy your weekend in a nice weather - hugs!

Angie - I swear you have never looked better than this past month ! Despite stress and hair that is bothering you , you are a sight to behold with such excellent spring style . This shirt is SO fantastic with these jeans . Glad to hear you’ve been able to sort out some arrangements for your dad .

This outfit is radiant! So upbeat. Dwelling doesn’t do much: I’m with you on that.

Playtime is important! All the best ideas come when you’re not trying! I’m sure Sam has this in mind ;)

Hang in there, Angie. You are a role model for staying positive in a crisis. Wow.

And I have to say that I've loved seeing your outfits every day. I've always loved your style and have missed your outfit posts.

You are a ray of sunshine, Angie, and inspiration to soldier on.

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

Every day you resemble the sunny sky in a new way. I must say my hair growing out does not look anything at all like your lovely waves. I just read that they are easing some restrictions next week but hairdressers can't yet reopen. Oh my :) .
So glad you have been able to help your Dad from afar. You are truly an inspiration.

  • kellygirl replied 4 years ago

So true about forging ahead! You've definitely got this and are setting such a good example for the rest of us. Your positivity is contagious--at least when I see your gorgeous photos. Beautiful outfit as usual. You are a treat to see, Angie! Sam too!

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Angie, I'm so sorry to hear things were difficult this morning. Really glad to know your dad is better situated again for the moment and that you were able to make progress on that front. No wonder you had a rocky morning. It's a lot to deal with.

And then, just LOOK at you! How can you not smile at Lemon jeans?!? Those are mouth puckeringly cute. LOVE them with the striped shirt. You've had a string of inspired pattern mixes this week! The shirt is really fun and must have been comfy today -- such lovely warm weather.

No one would ever guess you'd had a rough few hours. You are a sight to behold. Hugs to you and to cutie Sam, too.

You are proof that sheltering at home can be fun and glamorous. My SIL’s birthday is today and we found out that the worker who bathed her has tested positive for the corona virus. So she is quarantined in a senior care facility with no visitors. This is hard as we cannot get on a plane to see her and could not get in if we could get there. She is in care where she is not expected to live very long anyway. So sad.. At least she is comfortable and feels cared for. So far she does not show any symptoms.

Angie you really are such a wonderful example of how to handle the Covid lockdown with such grace and in a spirit of gratitude despite such stressful circumstances. I love how in tune Sam is, just there providing his wonderful doggie support. I almost forgot to mention how KILLER FAB you look.

@Joy, so sorry to hear of your SIL’s situation. I really hope she will be OK and can catch up with loved ones online.

I never knew I needed lemons on my legs until seeing this! I like fruit prints for summer dressing - not as girly as floral prints but not too geometric either. You wear it well :)

  • Lucy replied 4 years ago

You look glorious! I am so sorry that things are hard with your family now, it is all so difficult. You are amazing for getting through, and I love to see your daily radiant looks.

Your  efforts  for trying to find solutions over the seas for your dear Papa  seem really overpowering  but  so happy you eventually  found them and he is now doing well!  Please stay bright, put together and positive and take one day at a time- this too shall pass.... it has too!

  • kkards replied 4 years ago

Yes to trying to maintain a positive outlook. Yes to dressing in a way that supports that. And yes to the lemon jeans and fun pattern mixing

  • April replied 4 years ago

Hey, shirt twin!  I would gladly wear mine in your honor today except we have 29 degrees Fahrenheit right now.

Yes, it is hard not to cry all day every day.

Beyond cute!! Looooove the pattern mixing!!! Loooove the shirt!! And loooove those happy jeans!!!
And your hair still looks as fantastic as always, Angie!!

I think we are all having bad and good days, and we all have different ways to get ourselves out of "the funk". Seeing your happy outfits definitely is a pick-me-up for me, so thank you for that! xxx

  • Janet replied 4 years ago

That shirt makes me want one, even though I wouldn’t wear it a fraction as well as you do! And those jeans are so happy. You would never know to look at you that there is any struggle with you hair — it looks fantastic.

I’m continuing to send good vibes your papa’s way. I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to manage from afar, not only logistics but emotionally. Hugs to you.

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

You look so casually glamorous!  And your hair looks fab.  Mine desperately needs a cut.   Hope your dad feels better soon.

  • Preppy Pear replied 4 years ago

So cute! I love the shirt and the cami really looks great with it. I know you say your hair is harder to style, and I don’t doubt it, but no one could tell from these pictures!
Those pants make me want lemon tart now!

  • Gail replied 4 years ago

Angie you look fabulous and I really like your hair longer it really suits you. I'm sorry that you're having a such a stressful time dealing with loved ones far away . I know how hard it is, my parents were in the UK and I was in the USA when they began to require a lot more care . I cannot imagine navigating all that during a pandemic. Sending hugs to you and your positive attitude which is infectious.

  • Style Fan replied 4 years ago

I am sorry to hear that things were difficult with your dear dad this morning.  Everything is so complicated when we are far apart but the pandemic makes it even more so.  I am glad to hear there was some progress.
I think your outfit is one of my favourites.  I was waiting to see that shirt in action.  It is fabulous with the lemon jeans.  Great pattern mixing.  Blue is a fantastic colour for you.  Your hair looks lovely.
