OOTD: All Saints Denim Dress

This is what I'm wearing at home today to work, organize, clean, watch the news, and to walk Sam. I also dropped a package off at USPS, just up the road. Haven't driven in 6 weeks! Love that part. Wish I never had to drive again...

It's Koningsdag in the Netherlands, so no 5am calls, texts and meetings today. That was welcome. I slept in till 6am. Dad fragile and vulnerable, but doing better with increased at home care.

My usual quarantine drill ......styled hair, make-up, at home ONLY sneakers, some accessories, and wearing my pretty clothes because they make me happy, keep me positive, and give me strength. My wardrobe is one of the things that gives me guaranteed joy daily, and I am milking it.

11 weeks into hair grow (usually have it cut every 6 weeks). Tucking it behind my ears on both sides. It's fine!

It's a GORGEOUS sunny Seattle Spring day. Windy, but pretty. This DOES lift my mood. And so.......I was in the mood for my new dress,  which I bought for a song a few weeks ago when it was on heavy discount.

I LOVE MY NEW DRESS! It fits perfectly, it beautifully made, very comfy,  looks sharp, and is a lovely shade of polished blue denim. It's A-line so  unique for this style of dress, and with two slits - back and front "car wash" vibe - so that I can charge around fast like I usually do. I don't wear sheaths or pencil skirts because I need styles that move at the bottom, which this one does!

A little lace in front for some pretty.

Polka dot blazer for tone-on-tone fun.

Crossbody to walk Sam. And a mask which I forgot to photograph again....

Light blue sneakers because they are one of my at-home-only options. At this rate, I will never wear non-sneakers again! I haven't missed my regular shoes at all. I'm just not a shoe gal.....

Sam approves, and Greg loves the dress too. Good to have confirmation from both in-house fashion stylists.

Thanks for looking! Off to walk and bath Sam, and sanitize the house. Yummy leftover turkey mince and veggie curry for supper tonight, so no need to cook.

Thinking of you and your dad, and hoping things improve.

You look beautiful! Your hair has really hit a new sweet spot. But I love the dress (and blazer!) the most. What a great dress, and the flash of lace just tops it off for me.

  • Jane replied 3 years ago

Beautiful Angie. You look super. I love the spots on the blazer and stripe of the bag strap.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Lucy, lovely to hear from you. Thanks for the lace love and the sweet words.

Jane, I can see you in this outfit! HIGH FIVE, dress gal :)

  • Marilyn replied 3 years ago

LOVE the details on that dress!  And the peekaboo lace.  You look fantastic. And, sweet Sam gazing up at his mama as usual. :)

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Gorgeous length on that dress.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

What a great dress.  Your accessories really make the outfit, especially the pearls and Sam.  Sam certainly looks approving.

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

Another beautiful and comfy looking outfit! I am a shoe gal, but after wearing my at-home only sneakers all these weeks (and buying a second pair!) I may never go back to regular shoes either.

Glad to hear your dad is doing better!

Great dress, Angie . I can see how it will be a workhorse already ! I’ve driven so little I’m still working on a tank of gas from early March !

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

The dress is definitely a keeper and what a great blue, much nicer than the photo. The white stitching and buttons add a fun touch. I had to look up Koningsdag and found out it's a bank holiday celebrating Kings Day. So nice that your dad is doing well with his new care.

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

The dress is gorgeous on you! For better or worse things are starting to open up here and I may have gotten a haircut yesterday *blushing :) *. (Bizarre but not impossible with masks, gloves, shields, and a lot of disinfectant.) Your hair continues to look lovely but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Hope your Dad continues to do well. I have found with my own father that adjusting to new changes takes more out of him than anything else and he improves a lot when he gets acclimated with his new circumstances.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

OOOOOH! I LOVE it!! What a fab dress!!!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Great outfit - love black camisole with lace and pearls pic #14 .
It does look better on you than on the model ( with your power of perfect styling in full force :) ).

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

I am pleased you got an extra hour of sleep!  You look great as always and I especially love it with the bag.    I am pleased your Dad is doing a little bit better.

  • Barbara Diane replied 3 years ago

Glad your dad is getting more help/care. I love the dress and the outfit, but my favorite accessory is still Sam.

  • Star replied 3 years ago

Such a great dress, and it looks fantastic on you.  Cute blazer too.

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

Gosh, I really love this dress.   And with the light blue sneakers, it feels fresh and spring ready
glad your dad seems to be improving

  • Joyce B replied 3 years ago

    Fab dress!

  • Mac replied 3 years ago

Oh, Angie.  Your figure and sense of style are so very different than my own but I absolutely love seeing your beautiful smile and cool, flattering, grin-inducing photos here.  I realise how much I've missed the posts you used to do showcasing your own outfits, when I first started visiting YLF.  *Waving from half the world away*  Stay safe and chic, sweet friend!

  • Preppy Pear replied 3 years ago

Glorious! What a great denim shirt dress that you can really move in.

Regarding hair, that’s my mantra now, too. Everything is fine, everything is fine...

  • Laura replied 3 years ago

You found your denim dress! Beautiful fit! Thanks for the smile today.

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

I like the boiler suit vibe of the dress and 3/4 sleeves - great for busy hands (and hand washing!)  The natural wave in your hair is so pretty, and I like the colour variation through it.  You look great, Angie!

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

That is a super dress, and the fit is amazing. I’ve always been a little bit of a sucker for a utility shirtdress style, but it’s rare to find a good fit. You look great in it!

Continuing to send your father good vibes.

  • Christina F. replied 3 years ago

Nice dress! What a great fit.

  • Becky replied 3 years ago

What a great dress! It takes me back to the 90s -- I had a similar dress, though not quite as long. I wore it belted with a multicolored sash given by a friend who had lived in Ecuador. I especially love your version with the light blue sneaks! And that orange strap + blue combo still makes my heart sing!

  • Joyce B replied 3 years ago

I had to come back to add that now I am thinking about not returning my washlab denim dress. My hesitation is that blue denim may not have a polished look at my age, sorry to say it that way.

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

This dress looks sensational on you!  I’m glad your in house stylists approve.

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Fab outfit! Denim dresses are so confy and stylish! My parents live in a different country, it can be quite stressful and can relate to. Hope your dad 's hewlth will improve.

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

What a great utilitarian dress, Angie!  It looks like it fits you beautifully!

Glad to hear your dad is being looked after, and that you were able to get a much-deserved sleep in IN!  ;)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Phew! Sorry to get back to this thread so late. Busy day.

Thank you ALL for the awfully kind words about my dress, hair, Sam, and sweet Dad. It means more than you know.

    Rachy, LOVE the length.

    Marilyn, go Team Lace :)

Joy, don't you have a similar dress?

Karie, I know, right? How will we ever go back to non-sneaker shoes….

Lisa P, I almost put the dress on again today. Workhorse indeed! Maybe we will sell my car.....

Bonnie, you are good at research ! I’m impressed.

Suz, you need this dress too!

Jaime, YOU HAD A HAIRCUT! I AM ENVIOUS! We need pics.

Slim Cat, thanks for being gracious, as always.

Sal, you are wise, lovely, kind, and level-headed. Thank you.

Barbara Diane, of course Sam steals the show! I can't compete with the CEO.

Star, JAileen, Minaminu, Laura and Christina, I lucked out with the fab fit :)

kkards, my version of your KILLER denim boiler suit.

Joyce B, do you mean that you want to KEEP your wash lab dress? Please do! I know you you look plenty polished in it!

Mac, great to see you chime in! Thanks for the sweet words, and I miss you too.

Preppy Pear, HAH! Let's continue to have fine hair together!

RunCarla, YES. Such a practical dress, actually. Thanks for the hair love.

Janet, I hope you find a utility dress too. Try Wash Lab.

Becky, nice stroll through memory lane! I bet you rocked your ‘90s dress with the sash. Sounds pretty.

Nemosmom, you are as sweet as ever.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

    Outstanding!

And now that you mention it, I can’t remember the last time I drove a car.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Brooklyn, and isn't it fab to NOT drive a car!

  • MsMaven replied 3 years ago

Best looking denim dress I've ever seen--and back in the late 90s, I saw a lot of them. Yes, I had one too.  Of course it's ANGIE that makes the difference. And I'm drooling over that jacket.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 3 years ago

So adorable! That dress looks amazing on you, Angie. So long and lean. It has that perfect mix of casual and polished that you wear so well. Looks great with the blue sneaks and bag. Your hair is really looking great, too.
I agree, I'm enjoying not driving much. Once a week, we drive to a bakery/coffee shop that we like, to pick up treats to go. Otherwise, not much reason to drive anywhere!

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

Late to the party but that is one fabulous denim dress on you. The longer length and the slim cut--so flattering and stylish!

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Oh, always love a jeans/denim dress-yours is really stylish at that length! I'm sure DPapa will continue to strenghten-just be patient- and God Save the KIng, of course!:-)

  • replied 3 years ago

Looks great, and aww Sam :) Glad your dad's doing better!
I'm enjoying not driving much too (especially to the offices)!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Angie that dress!,, it is outstanding on you, the fit is perfect. I bought that Boden blazer and it is a beautiful piece and so versatile. I love how the polka dot print is quite subtle.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Sharan, that's a really nice observation - thanks! -  and YES to treats but NO driving.

Kelly and Lyn67, thanks for the kind words, as always.

Suntiger, thanks for chiming in about Dad :)

Bijou, Boden makes impeccable blazers. HIGH FIVE!

  • CocoLion replied 3 years ago

I love you in your new denim dress!

  • Gail replied 3 years ago

Lovely dress! Thinking of you being so far away from your Dad, it really is so stressful when you can't hop on a plane to sort things out.

  • Jules replied 3 years ago

I don’t think I’ve ever looked at a denim dress and thought ‘elegant!’ before! And then the Nordstrom photo has such a different, hard-edged styling. Very interesting contrast that makes me think about versatility and personal style.

  • replied 3 years ago

    Runcarla's comment is so true!

The "boilersuit" and three quarter sleeve influence makes the style look fresh again and the way you styled it highlights the details that the heavy belt on the model obscured.

I would not have thought a denim dress could look new to me again

  • JuniperGreen replied 3 years ago

Delightful!  What a cheery and happy look - you wear it so well!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks so much, ladies. Go Team Denim Dress!
