Pics: Red BR Wide Crops Road Test (ETA: Sneaks!)

These are AMAZNG. Fab fabric and fit. Come in black and navy too. My only worry is that they bag out, so I'm road testing them today. Fingers crossed!

THE HIGH WAIST FITS SANS ALTERATION. That's not easy on my body type. Length perfect at 2 inches above the ankle, although in #8 they look longer.

Was helping a client figure out shoes, lengths, and toppers for these pants, Took some pics for her. Thought I'd share with you too.

The dark here is BLUE not black. Navy booties too. Should have worn navy knee-highs, and will when I do that rendition.

Ultimately settled on  #11. Off to work! Will let you know if they bag out.....

ETA #1: Added outfit with sneaks because I'm off to walk Sam and do errands. Everything on foot. No driving. Sam has a matching collar :)

ETA #2: The pants DO bag out a little on the thighs, but stay put on the waist. No bagging out on the knees or butt. Because the pants are drapey, the bagged out thighs work just fine with the silhouette.

Squee! You look so yummy in every iteration! I can't pick a fave!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Kelly, thank you :)

  • anchie replied 4 years ago

They look fantastic. And I like them with Vagabond booties that I also have, sooo disappointed that these pants are not available here. Please let us know if they bag put, keeping fingers crossed that they don’t.

  • Jane replied 4 years ago

    Stunning! Great choice with 11.

  • Karie replied 4 years ago

    OMGOODNESS I love them all!

Those red booties are super fab, as is that plaid jacket.

  • Laura replied 4 years ago

Guess we know what you're having for lunch, Miss Fish n Chips! Enjoy the day and holding thumbs for no bagging!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

anchie, thanks, and fab booties we have! Mine are too high for everyday, so I keep them for shorter wears.

Jane, thanks, and these will look fab on you!

Karie, you are so sweet :)

Laura, I never say no to fish 'n chips....

  • Bonnie replied 4 years ago

Your new red pants are fab. I love every outfit.

  • The Cat replied 4 years ago

Red trousers are fun year round. Love the colour combos with the gorgeous jacket. My favourites are #10 and #11--the length of the red as well as the white boots make elegant proportions.

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

Wow! These are a perfect fit in your wardrobe. They look great!

  • Inge replied 4 years ago

They look sooo good on you!! Perfect styling too with that super fun fish 'n chips sweater, gorgeous blazer, and booties.

  • Style Fan replied 4 years ago

Fabulous pants.  I love all the booties with them.  So hard to pick a favourite.

  • Mirjana replied 4 years ago

Wow, so beautiful pants , they look perfect on you. Gorgeous blazer and terrific with that pants and boots. My favorites are #10 and #11 fabulous.

  • Vildy replied 4 years ago

I'll bet everyone you meet on your way will be sporting a pleased grin.
If they do bag out, can you have the tailor put a piece of lining inside the knee, secured to the side seams so it doesn't show?

  • rachylou replied 4 years ago

    Wow, sharp!

  • Janet replied 4 years ago

Perfect on you! I love how coordinated your wardrobe is. Just lovely.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks Rachy, Stye Fan, Mirjana, Janet, JAileen and bonnie. You are so nice!

Vildy, you're sweet. I'm intruiged. Not sure I know what you mean, but would like to understand.

Inge, :) - My NAS and Boden items are working hard!

The Cat, I like the higher shaft booties best here too. Although I'm going to put my sneakers on with the outfit this afternoon!

  • Katerina replied 4 years ago

I adore this outfit and the pants are perfection on you. The outfit is amazing because it is the perfect mix of modern classic, pretty and FUN. My faves are also the versions with the higher shaft booties. The sneakers must look super with this combination as well. What a great pair, btw. Remind me of my Hogan’s - partly sneaker, partly walking shoes. :-)
    You look stunning, Angie.

  • replied 4 years ago

Bee-you-ti-ful!  Love these pants, and the high white boots, and the blazer. Fantastic fall outfit .

  • replied 4 years ago

So fantastic that I’m struggling to pick a styling I like best. Red really just sings on you.it all feels slightly funky not straight classic, but very YOU.

  • Vildy replied 4 years ago

I can't find anything picturing a rectangular lining patch sewn behind the front of the knees but in a discussion of men's trousers half lined did see this:

"It can also prevent softer fabrics from bagging and sagging at the knee, especially when the trouser is cut closer to the leg.

I just picked up a vintage suit, in gray medium weight tweed of unknown brand but made in England, with rather full cut 1950s trousers that are lined at the knee only. Patches of lining were sewn into this section but not above or below.
    "

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Katerina, YES! Like your Hogans, and added a pic. Time for Sam walk and errands and changed to sneakers. I like the style descriptors you used :)

Lisa P, I have the wide crop bug. Like you!

Opaline, what a sweet comment. Added the Furla, which you can appreciate.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks, Vildy. That's fascinating. Soooo the pants don't bag out at the knee, but they do stretch-out a bit on the thighs. They stay put on the waist and seat though - so all good!

  • taylor replied 4 years ago

Wow, you never fail to STUN !
    All are gorgeous. ❤️
I used to always have a red slack or red skirt in my wardrobe, but it has been decades now. You have inspired me !

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 4 years ago

Wow, so gorgeous, Angie! I love the length as well as the fit. Nice job.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Taylor and Sharan, thanks for always being gracious. Red is a neutral!

  • replied 4 years ago

I'm tempted by the pants in navy. All reviews say the style runs a good size smaller than usual.  Was that true for you?

  • replied 4 years ago

I sure can appreciate it! Signature.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Lisa P, (fixed typo - WIDE crop bug. Not Wife crop bug....I'm not a serial killer).

I think they run TTS and not smaller. I took my regular size US0, and they are on the fluid side of tailored in the fit - as you can see in the pics. They DO narrow at the waist at the back - which is why they fit my sway back for a change, and I didn't need to alter. Perhaps reviewers were referring to the defined waist as running small?

    Opaline, you get it :)

  • replied 4 years ago

    :D

  • Sal replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous! I love the red and white ankle boots and the sneakers the best but they all work. What a great paur if pants and Sam is the perfect accessory.

  • Katerina replied 4 years ago

The last picture - fabulous with the sneakers. A new favorite of mine. Great addition of the white sunnies to go with the sneakers. Sam looks pleased too :-)

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Sal, those are my faves too. More of a '70s and '80s vibe, so right up our alley :)

Katerina, thanks for chiming back in. We love our Seinfeld sneakers!  Sam's indifferent as long as he goes on his walk....

  • replied 4 years ago

Pssst... got my eyes on these two, Angie! ( ◠‿◠ )
I think the solid would play nice w/the painted top/cardi.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Opaline, BEAUTIFUL. I love them both!

  • replied 4 years ago

It’s always good to have your stamp of approval in my back pocket! :)

I was just sifting through shoes to donate and while ‘shopping my closet’ came across a few pairs of barely worn shoes that match all the current color blog posts, I’m excited!

  • K. Period. replied 4 years ago

Fuuun! They look fantastic on you. Or is that fun-tastic?  ;-)

Thank you for showing them styled.

I bought them on Friday in black and navy to try. Now I cannot wait to get them!  I love seeing them with a fitted sweater, since my closet is full of those.  I also have white and black boots, so I think they may be an easy addition to vary my trouser silhouettes. You are always inspiring!

  • Marilyn replied 4 years ago

Lovely as always!  I really like the white bootie and white sneaks looks but the tonal red bootie outfit is my favourite.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Opaline, FUN bonus "new" stash.

Marilyn, thanks. I ended up wearing your fave.

K,! Love that you chimed in. Thanks for the kind words! You are very slim and straight on the thighs so I hope they don't bag out too much in that area. Fingers crossed. These will work well on your body type! Yes - you have the perfect pairs of boots for the look.

  • replied 4 years ago

Yeah, booties, hi top chucks & an oxford!

  • K. Period. replied 4 years ago

Ohhh! I will check those jeans out. I've been looking for a fun pair of jeans for the season. You must have read my mind. xo K.

  • Bijou replied 4 years ago

Amazing, so perfect for you. I love them most with the white boots. Your fish and chips sweater is so much fun.

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

These are so stunning on you. My favorite stying is with the sneakers and ready-for-a-walk Sam.

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

#11 is a fantastic outfit but you really can't convince me that there is anything better than picture #12. I don't even understand how you posed like that! Funny, you look less you in the darker blue boots even with the dark top. Still great of course. And I am kind of loving the shots where your hair looks two toned :) !

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Bijou, you are lovely, and go Team White Boots!

Joy, our doggies steal the show every time. As they should...

Jaime, I know, right? Light and bright footwear is a strong part of my signature style, that it's jarring to see me in dark shoes! I'm enjoying my two-toned hair too :)

  • Tanya replied 4 years ago

Gorgeous pants and stunning outfit, but as usual, Sam steals the show - love #12. I am very happy to hear the pants barely bag out, as I have the navy version on the way.

  • Dreika replied 4 years ago

Thanks Angie, for showing us! I did wonder how would you style those pants. Can’t order them as I leave in EU but wanted to see wide crop pants in action in your wardrobe to inspire my own wide crop outfits. I like all versions, you look amazing in all of them.

  • lyn67 replied 4 years ago

Love the new pants a beautiful red on you Angie, and think the white and red booties elevate these looks  in blink of an eye even further to most sharpest of them all , but of course the plaid textured  blazer is gorgeous, too. Loved the look with the snakers (and Sam:-)) the most!!!!

  • Cardiff girl replied 4 years ago

You have found the perfect red trouser to wear with your fabulous shiny red boots.

  • Laurie replied 4 years ago

Wonderful, every single look, Angie! And so excited about boots with wide crops! Haven't pulled out my boots yet due to the extended heat we've had into this fall.

  • Joyce B replied 4 years ago

Lovely pants and outfits on you. Sam wants to know what’s going on :)
I am waiting for some of the same pants that I ordered, we shall see how they work for me.

  • RobinF replied 4 years ago

Love all of these on you, so fun all the different color booties.

  • Sara L. replied 4 years ago

Fun outfits!  I love the pants with the higher shaft boots.

  • Christina F. replied 4 years ago

    Gorgeous!

Red bottoms have been on my list for a while but I've never found ones I've been happy with. I ordered these on a whim (before I saw them on you but after I saw your review!). However, BR pants generally don't fit me well in my "regular size," and there was no size up left to try, so it's a total gamble on my part.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Tanya, thanks, and hope you like them as much as I do. The stretching out on the thighs works with the drape of the silhouette.

Dreika, humbled to have inspired you.

Lyn67 and RobinF, you are always kind and lovely.

Cardiff girl, it’s a great red match :)

Laurie, have fun with the look your way.

Joyce, YAY. I think they are going to work. Keep me posted. (Sam wanted to get on with his walk!)

Sara, I like them with the higher shafts too.

Christina, YAY. Let me know how they fit.

  • replied 4 years ago

Love it! I like the white tall booties most with them :)
    *carries off floral Furla*

  • Annie replied 4 years ago

Angie, your item description says these pants are not good on an inverted triangle body type. Are wide crops generally not flattering on IT body types?

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Annie, Of course, IT's can wear wide crops! It's all in finding the right cut that works with your figure.

These PARTICULAR wide crops narrow at the waist, and there is a lot of room in the thighs. Usually, inverted triangles need a straighter cut with more room in the waist, and less volume in the thighs.

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Those pants are fantastic on you, Angie and wow, I LOVE the outfit you chose!!!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Thanks, sweet Suz :)

    Suntiger, I like those too!

  • Kyle replied 4 years ago

Your use of color is brilliant and always inspiring. I think your style genius is at an all-time high.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Oh, Kyle. I'm blushing. This is high praise coming from ultra fab you. Thank you.

  • Christina F. replied 4 years ago

Update - the pants arrived and as I suspected, they are too tight on the belly like all BR pants are on me. Not as tight as some others I’ve tried - they zip up and look nice but wouldn’t be very comfortable for sitting. I never wear too tight pants so back they go! They are lovely and should work for lots of other folks though.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Christina, try the next size up?

  • Christina F. replied 4 years ago

Not available but I’ll keep checking. I am usually pretty lucky with pop backs.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Okay! xo

  • pil replied 4 years ago

Late to the party, but what an energetic look - those are amazing on you!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks, Jill. Nice to see you chime in.
