New Coat Closet

We finally have a custom created entry way cabinet. Half of it is for outerwear. The other half for other things.

This is ALL our outerwear. No holding zones or swapping out seasons. You need a lot of outerwear when you live in Seattle! Every item gets a workout at some point.

Guess which side is mine ;)

My jackets hang in the regular walk-in-wardrobe upstairs next to the bedroom.

Amazing! And wow -- this is a one in, one out situation if ever there was one! You have no room for more!

It's gorgeous. What a great set up!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thank you! I’m delighted :)

Actually, there is plenty of room for more. Items are spaced out and it’s an airy spread at the moment. Can easily move the items closer together, IYKWIM.

Looks great Angie, how did you ever manage without it before? Love the pull-out drawers underneath too.

  • JAileen replied 1 week ago

Again, closet envy here.  I immediately knew which side was yours!

  • Bonnie replied 1 week ago

That is a wonderful coat closet! Your coats lined up by color look so organized. You have done an admirable job sticking to your color palate.

  • Suz replied 1 week ago

Great to know there is more room there if needed! :)

And yes, I'm with Dee on the drawers -- super useful!

  • Lisa replied 1 week ago

Gorgeous new coat closet! And everything looks lovely stored together. I am with others that I also like the drawers, an excellent addition.

Wow that is so functional yet beautiful! I love the color of the wood on both the cabinet and flooring! I'm so excited you FINALLY get to move back in! We would all love to see as much as you would like to share! And as for the outerwear I enjoyed seeing a tiny pop of light blue and one of yellow amidst the dark colors on Greg's side.

Beautiful . Did you design it yourself ?

  • Cookie replied 1 week ago

I am chartreuse and pink with envy!

  • Sal replied 1 week ago

How wonderful. It’s brilliant. And that’s the easiest game ever to guess which half is yours…..

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 week ago

Ha ha! Yes a very easy game to guess your side! Looks gorgeous.

  • Laura replied 1 week ago

Unless Greg has decided to abandon neutrals and start sporting brights, I think I can tell which side is whose! It must feel GREAT to put your coats in your new closet. Yay!

  • delurked replied 1 week ago

    lovely. so glad for you.

  • Kyle replied 1 week ago

I think it’s very nice of you to share with closet with Greg, lol.

But seriously, I can imagine how much this entryway storage will be used. I’m sure it has been meticulously planned and designed so it’s perfect for your needs. How wonderful!

    Love!!! So excited for you!

When we redid our kitchen, we moved the coat closet into the laundry/mudroom, and got more space for coats as a result. We each have our own coat closet too! (We do switch out with the seasons — the heavy winter coats are in the downstairs closet for the season).

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Thanks, everyone! Appreciate the kind words, and the correct guesses.

Dee, we has a makeshift cabinet for coats before that.

Suz, always room for more outerwear in the PNW ;)

Lynette, well spotted! And thanks for the extra enthusiasm.

LJP and Kyle, hubs Greg designed most of the remodel - including this cabinet. He's very talented and meticulous!

Janet, that's convenient and good use of space!

Wow! Not just the closet but the entire view of the loft! I just love the view and hope we get a full tour. As for the closet, my husband would be jealous of the generous proportion Greg got :) . I am delighted for you guys!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! And the chuckles :)

I'm very busy moving both our wardrobes. I'll be done today!

    How wonderful for you Angie!

I loved seeing that pop of colour on your side - keep shining!

  • Tanya replied 1 week ago

Perfect! It took me less than second to figure out your side of the closet.

  • Laurie replied 1 week ago

Phenomenal space - peeking beyond this amazing closet to the floating staircase! Can't wait to see it all!

  • RobinF replied 1 week ago

Ooh gorgeous closet! It will be easy to keep such a beautiful space looking nice! We don't swap out coats either.

We have a closet by our back door (not nearly as pretty as yours though!) where they all fit and I just rotate out of season out of the way.

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thanks, everyone! I'm smiling :)

THE WARDROBES ARE MOVED!!! Took me two days - very deliberately and with a lot of care and thought -  and I really enjoyed it! Just the rest of my bags, and some shoes in storage, and it’s complete!

    Spectacular spaces!!!

  • Lisa replied 1 week ago

Congratulations Angie! I’m sure it’s spectacular. Enjoy your new space!

  • Suntiger replied 1 week ago

Plonk! I'm sure the citron and hot pink are fab on Greg :)
