New 18 Year Old Jeans!

Fabber and friend Tanya  - who I've also known for 18 years - had a pair of gorgeous jeans she'd hung onto, but are an uncomfortable fit. They are bootcuts (or flares). They're brand new and worn a couple of times. Brought in 2007/2008. So around 18 years old. Just before skinnies took over the world.

Tanya sent them to me, and now they're mine :)

Worn here with a striped navy sweater I had on at the time to see if they work. Great fit! Perfect length with flat loafers. Added a belt. Comfy, and hubs Greg likes them too!

The mid-rise feels low at 9 inches. I'm used to wearing 11 inch front rises these days. Happy to wear the lower rise, though.

I feel like I'm back to wearing what I was 15 years ago, or thereabouts!  On that note, these jeans are begging for cowboy boots, which I happen to have on order. See Find below. (I'll post the jeans with the boots when I get them).

WOOOHOOO! These are a very sustainable pair of jeans. Thanks, sweet Tanya! I'll wear them for you with a happy heart. xo

Oh, my gosh, how fun! How sweet of Tanya to pass on these fab retro jeans to you, Angie. They are still, or again, in style! Can't want to see them with your new boots.

  • Laura replied 2 weeks ago

YLF denim sharing for the win! The jeans look like they’re in mint condition. What brand are they? I like the lower rise on you!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Thanks, Sharan! Still in style, and on trend again is dead right for bootcuts (flares)! You inspired my cowboy boot purchase too :)

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Laura, YES! Mint condition. And the brand is "MIH". Thanks for the kind words. I might be cowboy boot twinsies with you and Sharan :)

  • Suz replied 2 weeks ago

Super fun -- and so sweet of Tanya to send those over to you! YLF generosity at its best!

I was going to say -- yes, a mid-rise feels low after so many high rises, but what a fun change up. And I hope those boots work out!

I might just have to haul out my own boot cut mid-rise jeans, too! :) I have a nice pair of Paiges that are in storage....

  • Jules replied 2 weeks ago

Great jeans! And I don’t even like white boots or western styling typically (for myself) - but somehow those boots are super cute ;)

  • Kyle replied 2 weeks ago

    INCREDIBLE.

    The fit!

I cannot wait to see this with the new boots. Swooning at the thought of it.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Suz, thank you! I know, right? The rise feels low relatively. Like to mix it up, so I'm in! Curious to know what you think of your mid rise bootcuts in storage! I generally prefer a higher rise at this point, and am happy wearing these :)

Jules, Miz Mooz makes very comfy footwear! Maybe keep them on your radar.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Kyle, you made me blush - and laugh! Thank you :)

  • Cookie replied 2 weeks ago

Awww, nice! All the better coming from a friend.

  • Sal replied 2 weeks ago

How fun!!  What a special pair of jeans - and the cowboy boots will be awesome with them.

    How thoughtful of Tanya!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Thanks, Sal! Bootcuts need cowboy boots, don't you think? ;)

  • JAileen replied 2 weeks ago

Wow they look great!  And how kind of Tanya, too.  Yes to cowboy boots. :)

  • Dee replied 2 weeks ago

Yay!! Cute bootcut jeans, they look terrific on you. Your cowboy boots will be so fab with them. HeeHaw!!

  • Lisa replied 2 weeks ago

How fabulous for Tanya to send her jeans so they get worn again. That is AWESOME! I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Tanya wear these jeans in a WIW post at some point over the years.

These bootcut jeans are perfection on you Angie! I can't wait to see them paired with the new cowgirl boots! And perhaps the horsey blouse too. :)

I find I am reaching for bootcuts with a mid rise more and more over the past few months. Ever since I added those two pairs of Lucky mid rise bootcuts with the extra scrunch and slouch to them. I remember when all I wore was bootcuts, then it was bootcuts and skinny jeans (but only with knee high boots), then no bootcuts at all for many years, it was all straight legs and skinnies.

But with today's fashion I find I want to wear ALL the styles now. Mid rise, high rise, bootcuts, slim, straight, barrels, wide leg, it's fun to mix up it up based on my mood of the day.

  • Jaime replied 2 weeks ago

Wow they fit perfectly! I am a bootcut fan (as I might have mentioned) and you are the perfect model to illustrate my point :) . So great of Tanya to send them! Hope to see them with the boots soon!

  • Star replied 2 weeks ago

    Perfect fit!

  • Brooklyn replied 2 weeks ago

What a great story. They look fabulous on you. So sweet of Tanya! I miss her on the forum.

I just bought a pair of lower rise slouchy jeans. I had a kind of epiphany. That to get slouch, which I want, you need to accept a lower rise, which I didn’t think
I wanted but am now getting used to. The annoying thing about it is needing longer tops. Just when my closet was full of shorter tops. Ahhh, fashion.

  • Suntiger replied 2 weeks ago

They look great- and so nice of Tanya to give them to you!

  • RobinF replied 2 weeks ago

Fabulous jeans! They will look great with those cowboy boots.

  • Sisi replied 2 weeks ago

These jeans look brand new, are beautiful, fit you and are sustainable - what a lucky strike! Hooray for Tanya!

  • Janet replied 2 weeks ago

How great of the sweet Tanya to send them to you! And what a fab fit. I’m happy to see the return of bootcut and flare jeans. I’m happily wearing them with sneakers too.

  • Ket replied 2 weeks ago

How fun! I first discovered you long ago, when you wore a very 70s outfit of turtleneck, bootcut/flare bottoms, and a medallion necklace in a post. You still wear bootcut fabulously! I can't wait to see them paired with your new cowboy boots. It will be very trendy and timeless all at once. And how lovely of Tanya to send them to you! Fabbers are the best <3

  • Bonnie replied 2 weeks ago

Love this! I have two pair of jeans that are too tight and have kept because #1 was expensive and #2 was so cool fitting when I tried them on. I thought that if I lost weight they would fit comfortably but it didn't work. Your post gives me hope that someone else will enjoy them. I've got them in the donate pile.

  • ChristelJ replied 2 weeks ago

Wow! Spectacular. Although you look amazing in any and all styles of jeans, these are extra fun and flattering and sassy. I have never stopped loving flares and mid rise all these years. Great to see them come to life with you.

  • Carol replied 2 weeks ago

What fun! Great jeans, great look, great styling. BUT...when I saw how old they were....I think they are begging for platform flip flops, like from the Delia's catalog. Did you know Delia's, Angie? They were something like this. They will go great with cowboy boots, but I had to give a shout-out to the nineties/aughts.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Cookie, Star, RobinF, and Suntiger, appreciate the kind words!

JAileen, I know you like cowboy boots!

Dee, thanks for the chuckle, compliments, and I'm ready for Nashville :)

Lisa, such gracious and sweet words! YES! I was thinking our gorgeous horsey blouse with the jeans and cowboy boots. Snap! I also wear most rises and jeans silhouettes now - HIGH FIVE!

    Off to an app.....back later.

  • cat2 replied 2 weeks ago

Love this! That beats my 2017 resurrected bootcuts by a mile. They look great.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

    I'm back.....

Sisi, lucky strike for sure! Comfy too. Love how they are the perfect length for my loafers.

Jaime, go Team Bootcuts! You wear yours with panache. Blushing at your sweet words :)

Janet, you are Queen Bootcuts and wear them to perfection! I'll wear these with sneakers and boots too.

Brooklyn, excited to see your new slouchy "Skater Chic" low rise jeans! They remind me of Avril Levigne's style in 2002!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Ket, good memory, and such sweet words! That was a '70s look with my late Mama's gold pendant - nice to think of again :)

LOVE trendy and timeless items and looks. That's a trend in itself, these days.

bonnie, a lucky recipient will get those jeans!

ChristelJ, you are gracious and I appreciate that! Fun to be on Team Bootcuts with you :)

  • Laurie replied 2 weeks ago

Amazing fit! You look hot, Angie!

These remind me a lot of the Paige Hidden Hills jeans I bought in my early YLF days, and still have - so at least 10 years ago. I had never bought a pair of designer jeans!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Carol, I remember flatform flip-flops from the late '90s and early '00s! My fussy feet neither wear flip-flops nor platforms so I'll leave you to enjoy them ;)

cat2, thanks! It's a fun silhouette to add to my jeans capsule.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Laura, thank you! I remember the Paige Hidden Hills Jeans! At least 15 years ago, I think ;) - try them on again!

  • MsMaven replied 1 week ago

Wow! Fabulous jeans and they look like they fit you perfectly.

I had a dose of nostalgia when I looked at your photo. Brought back good memories. Bodies change though, so this style doesn't work for me now.

Ah, I remember now. Somewhere I have a photo of me in similar jeans--from around 1970!

  • kkards replied 1 week ago

Gosh I needed this lovely post today. It’s been a month of not good news and tons of worry and stress. This post of traveling pants made me smile and marvel at how much love there is in the world
Thank you Tanya and Angie for this slice of joy

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thanks, everyone.

MsMaven, I love the '70s, and enjoyed your trip down memory lane!

kkards, I'm smiling at making you smile :)

  • Karie replied 1 week ago

They are in great condition and fit you perfectly! How sweet of Tanya to send them to you.

  • bella replied 1 week ago

Great fit! I had a similar pair of hardly worn jeans that I now I wish I had hold on to, but I think they were too tight :)
    And yay for cowboy boots!
I miss YLF clothing exchanges. I had many lovely items passed on to me by YLFers, off the top of my head, Lisa and April that I wore for many many years.

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Karie, thanks for the kind words!

Bella, I remember how you rocked bootcuts! Those YLF gatherings and clothing swaps were awesome! We should bring them back :)

  • slim cat replied 1 week ago

Beautiful! Love the look - you look fabulous!

  • Angie replied 3 days ago

    Thanks, sweet Slim Cat

  • Lisa replied 3 days ago

bella - Yes, I always enjoyed the clothing swaps too! :)
