My WILD CARD

Darling Anna is not the only one wearing “Dad Sneakers” - although we have to find a better name for them, right?

Love their ‘80s vibe - but get if you think they look awful. It’s all good!

I’m having fun wearing them :)

And they are WHITE, in Angie fashion!

    I’m also loving your blazer.

  • DonnaF replied 4 years ago

I remember seeing these online! Even bulkier than my Brooks Addictions — which sadly aren’t available in my size.

  • rachylou replied 4 years ago

You look soooo excited to be wearing them... I’m almost convinced I need a pair :D

  • gryffin replied 4 years ago

Adorable sneaks especially with the jeans - which are tres fab!!  But I love that blazer - is that denim?  May I ask who makes that?  It's a fantastic piece!!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

Love them on you. The blue pants with white sporty stipe are just the right touch.

  • annagybe replied 4 years ago

    So absolutely freaking awesome!
Especially with that outfit. Can also see them with midi skirts

*Opens door to see if the sky has fallen*. You look very cute in them - unexpectedly, I’ll admit . I actually quite like these on you !

Tell me about the blazer and the jeans though :)

And is it really that cool in Seattle to be wearing a trench coat in July ? Odd weather !

  • Kari replied 4 years ago

Lisa, it is off and on. We have had some days of rain and cool weather. Today sun and 75 degrees. Such is summer in the Puget Sound.

  • Christina F. replied 4 years ago

Ack I love those, too. The thick sole is just what I need right now. Good thing I can't shop for a week... gives me time to think things over.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks, ladies. You make me laugh, and appreciate the positive feedback :)

Gryffin, I've attached Finds of my outfit. Blazer and jeans were birthday presents from Greg this year. Blazer is Joie and a NON-CREASE PERFECT denim-esque fabric.

    Anna, HUGS!

Lisa P, no need for a trench today. I brought my Hobbs trench for Suz, so that she could try it on an assess fit and size. She is getting it too.

What a fun find for you. And Those jeans, my word, I’m floored by them. Stunning.

  • Style Fan replied 4 years ago

I love the blazer.  It looks like denim.

  • nemosmom replied 4 years ago

These suit your 80s vibe so nicely! If your fussy feet love them, it's all good!

  • marianna replied 4 years ago

All the super stylish people are wearing these! I am seeing them everywhere. Definitely not for me but I agree they look very trendy and different! They wouldn’t look intentional on me. ;)

  • kkards replied 4 years ago

I’m not a huge fan...but of all the people I’ve seen wearing them, they look the most authentic on you! And I mean that in the best way

  • Helena replied 4 years ago

They look great - and I love the jeans! It's amazing how quickly my eye has adjusted to the Dad-sneaks - who knew the dads had it all along?!? ;)

  • Gail replied 4 years ago

I like the Dad sneakers on you but  not on my husband lol!

  • Bennett replied 4 years ago

Still sitting out the big sneaker trend. With size 10 1/2 feet, anything that makes them take up even more space is a firm no. You still look dainty in yours!

I LOVE the Stella McCartney blouse - someday show it styled so the back isn't covered up, pretty please?

  • Janet replied 4 years ago

Haha! I want to like the dad sneaker thing more than I do. I guess because I don’t like myself in white shoes, I should probably pass on the biggest, whitest shoes, huh? But darn if you don’t look adorable in them!

  • Laura replied 4 years ago

Love how the sneakers pick up on the white inserts on the jeans. Looking fab and decidedly non-dad-Like!

  • Laura replied 4 years ago

P.S. I associate white sneaks like these with Seinfeld (not dads!). Seinfeld sneakers? Lol!

  • Janet replied 4 years ago

Oh, those jeans are fantastic. I love a good side stripe! It’s a bummer that they almost never work for me.

  • Thistle replied 4 years ago

    You look terrific in them.

I guess I embraced the trend early as my walking shoes look like that ;)

  • Karie replied 4 years ago

I love this! The sneakers are great, yes, but what I really LOVE is your open mindedness about fashion and willingness to take risks. A good lesson for us all.
And what first attracted me to this website, and what keeps me coming back (along with the wonderful people) is the motto “Have fun with fashion!”

  • replied 4 years ago

A true wild card, I am shocked, shocked I tell you!  :).  am adamantly anti-sneaker for my looks (I'm more of a sandal girl), but they look great on you.

  • smittie replied 4 years ago

    These look GREAT!
I’m going to try some too!

  • Bijou replied 4 years ago

A wonderful wildcard, and I am sure that with your superpower they will stay beautiful and white.

I really am enjoying sneakers at the moment, my feet are too! I love the new jeans and blazer, absolutely stunning on you.

  • gryffin replied 4 years ago

TY Angie. It’s an awesome blazer. Just gorgeous on you. I wish they would do one in black denim! I will have to keep an eye out for that. It would be a great weekend piece!

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

I saw these in person and amazingly enough, they are very refined for a "Dad" shoe. They actually fit extremely well on Angie's low volume foot and are a whole lot less overwhelming than you might think, although they do make a fashion statement for sure! Love them with those tuxedo striped jeans.

People, you would not believe how GORGEOUS that jacket is on the gorgeous Angie, in person. Unbelievably beautiful fit and tailoring.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thank you ALL for your thoughts and kind words!

    Suz
    , (((HUGS))).

As I thought more about it, the WILD part about this purchase is the athletic-chunky party, although I LIVED in the hi-top version in the late '80s.

They are though = white, comfy, flat and '80s. That part is not a stretch, and they fit extremely well :)

  • mtnsofthemoon replied 4 years ago

Angie you rock those sneakers!!!  I am head over heals for those jeans!!!  love the white stripe (insert smiley face with hearts here).

The sneakers are all the rage in my neck of the woods - I will pass and enjoy them on others.  They seem like BMW's to me - meaning EVERYONE here has one.

  • Inge replied 4 years ago

Super fun, and gorgeous with the outfit you are wearing here!!

  • RobinF replied 4 years ago

Wow I love those jeans so much! The shoes...you make anything look cute but I don't think those will ever be a good look for me.

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

We went to a bluegrass concert Saturday, and I saw a man wearing sneakers like yours. I think they should be called grandpa sneakers - that’s who was wearing them! :)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 4 years ago

They are very hip and look great with those jeans. The blazer is the perfect counterpoint.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thanks for the kind words about what I'm calling my Seinfeld sneakers - that make me smile each time I walk past them ;)
