My CUSTOM Hi-Tops!

A super cute client and friend told me that I could create custom Converse hi-tops, so I did just that!

Here's the link:

https://www.converse.com/shop/custom-womens-shoes

I chose:

  • BLUSH leather (not canvas) - and no colourblocking
  • crisp white soles sans platform
  • no stripes
  • GOLD eyelets
  • white laces
  • "youlookfab" embroidery :)

I couldn't add the fleece lining I love so much, but that's okay. I added cushioning insoles.

I've had these for three weeks and waited to bust them out today so that I had something to look forward to. They are not as chunky and long in person. That's the camera angle and my selfies doing it's not so fab thing.

COMPLEMENT: tonal with my blush and white bags, and blush scarf.

They are an AMAZING new wardrobe essential! Excellent quality. Playful, pretty, polished, and practical. It's awfully fun to wear them. Iconic classic with a personal touch!

Thanks for looking. xo

OMG!   They are gorgeous, an so you that I cannot stand it.  Not to mention the "ylf" embroidery, and it looks that Sam approves.

    Enjoy wearing them.

  • Kaelyn replied 3 years ago

Those are SO COOL and so you! Looks like Sam approves, too.

  • replied 3 years ago

Wow, I love the gold eyelets! What a difference those make to the style!

  • replied 3 years ago

Spectacular! Cool how you roll tuck the laces! Youlookfab :)

  • Jules replied 3 years ago

SO CUTE! The gold eyelets really make a difference. As a Converse aficionado (ha) the stripe or plain sole detail is so key to the different looks so it's good to know that's part of the custom options.

  • Vildy replied 3 years ago

The gold eyelets are a brilliant component.  Wear these fab sneakers in good health.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

    Those are amazing!!

  • LaPed replied 3 years ago

Very pretty! Perhaps it’s time to open a YLF merch shop with a bunch of custom “youlookfab” schwag? ;)

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Tanya, you make me smile :)

Jules and Gillian, I only wear gold so the eyelets were an important custom option. As for the stripes, I almost added them in blush.....but chose the the less sporty route.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

LaPed, I would totally wear that swag :D

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    La Ped, working on that.....

Vildy, Nikki, Helena, Kaelyn, you are lovely!

  • ANewMindset replied 3 years ago

    I love everything about these!!

  • replied 3 years ago

Wow! These are beauties ! And I’m not even a Converse fan ;) The gold eyelets and embroidered logo are just terrific . Off to investigate Cdn cost ......

  • replied 3 years ago

Ok- I’ve already created a pair for myself - lol. They are sitting in a cart where they belong for now . Why do Cons look feminine on you but too tomboyish on me ? I ordered two different versions of a black canvas platform a few weeks ago and ended up sending them both back . And it’s not like I have a wide or blocky foot either .

  • Mirjana replied 3 years ago

OMG, they are terrific, love, love them so much. They suit you excellent. Sam approves that, I see. Enjoy Angie!!!

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

    How fun!! I love them.

  • Jenava replied 3 years ago

I'm personally not a converse wearer.  That said, these are ah-dorable and SO Angie!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

    The gold eyelets slay!

  • Janet replied 3 years ago

Oh, those are SO FUN. Now I want to make my own pair!

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

SUPER cute, Angie! What a great sign of spring!! LOVE them for you!!!

  • Style Fan replied 3 years ago

They are so perfect for you.  Sam approves.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, everyone! I just took them on a walk with Sam in sunny Seattle, and they are very comfy :)

Lisa P, I've found that platforms are too chunky for my own low volume  feet, and that when I stick to pretty Converse colours like white, cream,  and pink - there is no "tomboy".

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

Whoa sumptuous colour and style! Sam is *all* ‘yasss...’. I’m loving that sort of putty shade of blush. I think it’s luxe :)

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

Super cute, Angie and perfectly YOU!!!

Customs are the way to go. You can build 'em exactly how you want 'em!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

These must be the prettiest sneakers ever. The embroidery is a beautiful and subtle touch.

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

WOW! These are so cool! I had no idea you could order custom Cons! Looks like Sam loves them too!

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

How fun and special and perfect for you!!

  • annagybe replied 3 years ago

    Oooh really nice

  • Zaeobi replied 3 years ago

Oh, nice - I've always looked at converse but never bought them because I'd think 'if only they were in a more waterproofed material than canvas, or in a more flattering colour (for me) with an outsole that won't show the dirt of city living as easily' lol!

Sounds like the perfect solution for those as fussy as me, haha ;)

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

Oh. These are so cool. Love.
And now I’m intrigued... YLF branded swag....hmmmm

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thank you, everyone! Appreciate the kind words. Maybe we'll see more custom Converse on the forum soon :)

  • replied 3 years ago

That’s a good point about the platforms . I’m always attracted to them for the height they give me , but on Cons they have a widening effect . Back to cart to edit my custom pair ;)

  • Windchime replied 3 years ago

I never thought I’d use the word gorgeous to describe a pair of Converse, but those are gorgeous and perfect for you!  YLF embroidery is completely fab.  They look great next to Sam , too, which is of course very important.  :)

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

They look adorable and a great complement to your fab bag collection!
Pretty, feminine and a bit sporty - perfect mix!

  • Laurie replied 3 years ago

Wow! The YLF embroidery just puts these right over the top!! So much fun.

  • Eliza replied 3 years ago

Terrific Cons, Angie. Love the subtle blush with gold and indeed, you, as always, look fab. Great embroidery! Your Cons always look amazing and somehow you get the fit to work on your low volume feet and narrow ankles. Magic! Enjoy them and hello to adorable Sam.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

    Wow! Those are wonderful.

I’m pretty sure that service would not be available here. If it were, I’d get a pair in maroon :)

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

    How great!
    And such an interesting option.
I think AGL makes customized ballet flats.
It’s fun to think how, if something would be more “ essential “ and wearable/ versatile “ if only” .... a different color, material, trim, etc, that it could be worth 2 or 3 lesser items, or long searching , buying, returning. So if does seem to work best if one has either had, or is able to try on, try out, the basic model. Or something that doesn’t have to fit exactly, like custom jewelry or a handbag.

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Agree that the gold eyelets are the perfect touch! They are just exactly right for you! The concept of designing my own sneakers is actually blowing my mind - I am so used to working with what I find, I think I would have to do a major mental reset :) .

  • Carla replied 3 years ago

These are just the best, so very Angie-esque", i love them.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

OMG. I'm not a Converse fan for myself, but these have the most perfect design I have ever seen, and so perfectly YOU! Clapping hands!-)

  • viva replied 3 years ago

You know, one of my favorite YLF items is my pair of black leather fleece lined Cons (copying you, of course, Angie). They are looking a bit ratty bit I still love and wear them. I've committed to a no-order month for March, but on April 1 I think I will order a spring/summer version! Leather makes all the difference, I think. Thanks for your inspiration! Flagging this post.

  • replied 3 years ago

Wow- they're perfect for you! Love the gold eyelets!

  • Joyce B replied 3 years ago

    Enjoy them, they are fab!

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

Those are gorgeous! The eyelets! Wow. I have tried but Converse just look weird on me. They sure are cute on you though.

  • Toban replied 3 years ago

These are so awesome! I was surprised at how reasonably priced the custom option was. I’ve decided to take a chance and designed a low sneaker in wide width in moss and off-white. So fun to design.

  • replied 3 years ago

Love them, and those eyelets are like a little extra jewelry.  Angie, I think you're now officially a sneakerhead!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

What a fun pair of sneakers!  So very you.

Timberland boots has had a design your own boot option and I would play with it, but never ordered them.

  • Jenn replied 3 years ago

I love them! And you know that my custom leather Chucks were a cherished part of my wardrobe for years! They change the color options available pretty regularly so it’s good to take the leap if you see something unique like the blush!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Super cute. I love the You look fab logo.

  • Ledonna N. replied 3 years ago

haha I've never clicked on something so fast.  I love these  Oh Angie  Your pictures always remind me of Beautiful spring or summer fun.  I love the photos you take.

alas I have tried to stick my big feet in women's converse but they don't work out for me.  Or at least the ones I've tried. I wish they came in a wide.  I would be all over them

  • Christina F. replied 3 years ago

    Heart eyes. That is all.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks for the cheerleading, everyone! I'm thrilled with them, and wearing them again today. LOVE!

Eliza, TWO sets of cushioning insoles makes these hi-tops fit my low volume feet well. Try it!

Ledonna, I think Chucks come in a WIDE.

Lisa P, YES, and Chucks are quite wide too. No platform. Keep the vibe iconic, and choose a softer neutral.

    Toban, sounds fab!

Jenn, you need another pair of those!!!

Xtabay, are you crowning me Queen Sneakerhead? :)

Viv, those old hi-top sneakers are AMAZING and I have them in burgundy too (black wore out). See Find. But the custom option does not allow you to choose that sublime fleece lining that makes them so comfy. Just a heads up.
