LOVE My New White Skirt!

If I could have any casual white skirt in the world - this would be it :)

It's long, flared, gorgeously cut, super comfy, plenty breezy, crisp, substantial, not see though, and like wearing my beloved white jeans in the form of a skirt!

I had the skirt altered, and now it fits perfectly.

Worn 5 times in a couple of weeks. LOVE this skirt! Forgot to take pics of the outfits - but remembered to take these yesterday. Errands, WFH, grocery shopping, and doggie walking.

New glitzy gold loafers are getting a workout. Very comfy, and complement most of my Summer looks. They filled a major wardrobe hole.

Excuse the bad pics - in a rental for longer. Jo in a collar to match :)

Thanks for looking. Waving at my skirt sisters! xo

Looking fab as always! Can I ask what alterations you had done to the skirt? I gave away my blue denim version because it was too long for me and didn't seem like the hemline could be shortened.

  • Angie replied 6 months ago

Thanks, April! These skirts are impossible to hem, IMO. You are right. I left the length. Had the hips, seat, and waist taken in.

  • Aquamarine replied 6 months ago

Very fun skirt! Looks fab on you! I’d be tempted but I’m not tall enough.

  • slim cat replied 6 months ago

    Fabulous - especially in pic # 10 and #11 ;-) !
    Fun skirt for summer!

  • Kookaburra replied 6 months ago

Fabulous skirt - also unique and original, so will not date. Not surprised you’ve worn it so many times: skirts & dresses are the best in summer, nothing beats that breeze up your legs. Looking forward to seeing you in some more skirts perhaps?!

  • Brooklyn replied 6 months ago

Looks fabulous Angie. If I spotted a skirt like that I would probably buy it and dye it a Brooklyn colour. Love the asymmetry and the frayed hem. I think the fit around the waist and hips is critical for that style, so I’m not surprised you had it altered. Great result.

  • Joy replied 6 months ago

Looks like a great white skirt. I found a second hand white denim skirt with a big front slit about the same length. I also got a faded blue denim skirt with low cargo pockets and front slit at the same time. It is the same length. I love them both for summer. They look very much like those featured by Angie in her blog post last month.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 6 months ago

Gorgeous! It's such a fun style with that wavy hem. It seems to bookend your wavy hair in a way.

  • Star replied 6 months ago

Stunning!  Love your gold complement so much, especially with your hair.

  • Mirjana replied 6 months ago

OMG Angie , adorable white skirt, really special, great shape and made just for you. You look wonderful.

  • Olive Green replied 6 months ago

Walking the pups in gold loafers and architectural skirt. That is a cheery picture!

  • Dee replied 6 months ago

Ouu..total love for that skirt, great length and silhouette so you can move with ease in it. I’d be a little nervous about it being white, but you have your magical ability to keep whites clean.

  • kkards replied 6 months ago

    Love!  This is just fab!

I’m already imagining the fall outfits with your tall boots.

  • kkards replied 6 months ago

Oh, and don’t think I missed the gold belt/gold shoes.

  • ChristelJ replied 6 months ago

Wow. Somehow you make gorgeous statement pieces work for everyday life in the most magical way. I'm impressed you found a denim skirt with no slit, with coverage, that you can move in, and in a really cool cut. The whole outfit is marvelous.

  • Roberta replied 5 months ago

That is definitely the best version of these skirts that I have seen this year. I love the swoopy, frayed hem. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

  • cat2 replied 5 months ago

Great skirt in the white; I had only seen the light blue and faded black from a few years ago. I just took a look and they have olive as well!

I have been wearing old rose gold loafers, and new pewter ones a lot, but my gold ones get a wary look from my husband. Will have to steel myself and give them a spin. And come to think of it, I do have a gold belt…. As always, thanks for the inspiration.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Such lovely comments coming through while I was asleep :)

    Thanks very much, everyone!

Aquamarine, I wish the skirt came in a shorter length. Bummer :(

Slim Cat, Jo sends her darling tailwags and kisses your way!

Kookuburra, go Team Skirt! I prefer dresses and wear a lot of those in Summer, but love a good skirt when I find one ;)

Brooklyn, waving at my asymmetrical skirt sister! I knew you'd like this shape, and want to dye it in a you-colour!!! I thought of you when I bought it! :) And big yes to achieving perfect alterations so that the skirt stays put when I run around all day with clients....and doggies.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Joy, I'm excited to see your new skirts! Major scores by the sounds of it.

Sharan, HAH! A fun wavy match. Thanks for making me laugh :)

Mirjana, waving at another Summer skirt sister! Thanks for the sweet words. I know you like white skirts too ;)

Olive Green, Sam and Jo approved too ;)

Dee, it's my one and only super power. Appreciate the love for the skirt!

kkards, belt and shoe matching sisters unite! Yes to a few autumn looks with the skirt.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

ChristelJ, such gracious words, and I'm blushing :) The skirt is a rare find indeed. Thank you!

Roberta, that's high praise, and I'm smiling! Thank you. I like frayed hems too. A '70s thing that stuck :)

cat2, yes! I have clients in the olive, cappuccino, blue denim, and ashy lilac versions of this skirt. I think you'd like it! And go Team Metallic Loafers. Humbled to have inspired you :)

  • Suz replied 5 months ago

Fabulous skirt! I love it! It comes in so many terrific neutrals, too. For me it would be the white, also. I won't be buying, (because, too short), but if I were, I would also go for the white.

    Waving at my bag twin.

You look so fresh and lovely!

  • Sal replied 5 months ago

    Perfect for you! Love it.

  • Jaime replied 5 months ago

Love the skirt and also the pink and red top with your glasses. Add Jo and you make the perfect picture. Beautiful!

  • Laura replied 5 months ago

Team Summery White Skirt reporting in! Love your passion for new wardrobe items! I can so relate to wearing a new item multiple times when you fall in love with it. You wear it beautifully with pink, red and shiny gold! If you need a matching shiny gold handbag, I have one from Zara I'd be happy to send :)

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Thanks, Sal! You're another skirt sister I'm waving at! :)

Thanks, Suz! Wish this skirt came in a shorter length :(  Then I'd wave at my bag AND skirt twin :)

Jaime, you are generous with your words! Thank you, and Jo sends cute tiny tailwags :)

Laura, waving at my Summer white skirt sister! Go Team Loves To Wear New Stuff! And I have a gorgeous gold Italian bag but it's in storage while we remodel. Should have kept it in the mix :( - thanks though!

  • Bonnie replied 5 months ago

Cute skirt and you should have a lot of fun styling it with your brights. The pink and gold look great with it.

  • Joy replied 5 months ago

My new skirts are right on target, about the same length as yours but with a slit in front. They will get lots of summer wear as they go with about any top and look good with a light jean jacket too and loafers. They are indeed great finds for a faction of the price. One was new with tags. The other is like new. Thanks for the idea of pairing white with gold accessories.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

bonnie, appreciate your sweet words, as always!

Joy, glad you found new skirts that you love! Go Team White and Gold :)

  • rachylou replied 5 months ago

I like that pairing of the raw edge of the skirt with the scalloped (?) collar if your top! That’s smart!

  • RobinF replied 5 months ago

So cute! Love the hemline! And perfect with gold shoes!

  • Suntiger replied 5 months ago

Fun shape- and good sub for your white jeans! I'm surprised it's still cold enough for a sweater though!

  • madeline replied 5 months ago

Angie, I love your white skirt.
I bought the same one in the raw denim color and am really happy I did!

  • Mary Beth (formerly LBD) replied 5 months ago

Angie, this look is just so very perfect!  Love love love that skirt!

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

    Thanks everyone!

Suntiger, it's a crocheted sweater with holes ;) - but it has been cool here by the water. I'm wearing an Esprit hoodie right now....

Madeline, waving at my skirt twin! WOOHOOOO! Thrilled you're happy with your version.

Mary Beth! Waving at another skirt sister! Appreciate your sweet enthusiasm :)

  • Karie replied 5 months ago

Gorgeous skirt! I love that hemline.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Thanks, Karie! Always lovely to see you chime in :)

  • Carol replied 5 months ago

That midi/midaxi a-line is an exact silhouette I would wear. But what I like here is that is seems to include a high-low effect, as well as a handkerchief hem. We were seeing these trends not just, what, 5 or 10 years ago? I enjoy how trends are recirculating more frequently.

This also shows us other possibilities for denim skirts. I think when I think of a denim skirt, I think of something kind of tight and fussy in the waist. Nice to know these exist, too.

  • Eliza replied 5 months ago

Wonderful outfit and a terrific skirt! You look beyond fan. I have my eye on that Pompom bag. Looks like a perfect size and love the simplicity. Enjoy!

  • Cardiff girl replied 5 months ago

A lovely iteration of the white denim skirt trend which suits you perfectly.lam still looking for one for myself without a massive split up the front. mind you, if l had a little dog on my lap, a white skirt would be covered in little footprints!

  • Style Fan replied 5 months ago

Gorgeous skirt!  I love it with the gold loafers and pink sweater.  I would get it in olive.  I wonder if it is available in Canada.

  • Dana replied 5 months ago

Love your skirt!!!! I like the flared/a-lines so much better than the straight ones.

Angie! You should blow that pic of you and Jo up and frame it--how cute!!! BTW, you are looking younger every day...maybe it's your new hair style.

  • Angie replied 5 months ago

Many thanks for the kind words!

Rachy and RobinF, I missed your earlier comments. Sorry, and thank you! Appreciate the fray and scallop match, and sweet compliments :)

Carol, about 10 years ago, these skirt styles were abundant  - and yes, things keep coming back into fashion!

Eliza, the Pom Pom London City Bag comes in two sizes and I have both. They are great!

Style Fan, some clients have the olive version and they find it very versatile.

Cardiff Girl, I hope you find your white skirt! Minus the paw prints ;)

Dana, such sweet words as always! I'm blushing. Go Team Flared Skirt.
