LOTS of WIWs: Casual and Dressy

Trying to take outfit pics more frequently. Not as often as I'd like, but better than before :)

Daily urban life in Seattle. Mostly on foot. Client days. WFH days. Errand days. Weekend.

Mini Style Evolution: Lots more toffee and cognac and loving it! Works with my darker hair :)

Lots of colours. Lots of Neutrals.

Lots of solids. Don't wear as many patterns in Autumn and Winter.

Not into wearing my navy outerwear this year. Preferring toffee.

Lots of old. Some very old. Some new.

Trousers and Jeans. Not into my Winter dresses at the moment. Maybe soon!

Hair is often windswept. Soooo windy here! Needs a sharp trim. Happening this week, thankfully!

Thanks for looking. xo

All of these outfits are fabulous. I love how you combine bold colors with other bold colors. I always default to pairing a bold color with white, navy, or black, but I love to see two (even three!) different bright/bold colors paired together.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Thank you, Karie! Wearing one bold colour with white or navy is great! I adore that combination. And when you love bold colours like I do - three at once feels great too ;)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 month ago

Oh, my goodness. So much fabulosity in one post, I can hardly stand it!
I adore your cheerful piles-of-brights in 3-4, your elegant tonal neutrals in 5-8, and everything else in between, all equally! (Each one was my favorite, until I saw the next.) The burgundy suit and citron sweater, and your switch to the faux leather jacket strike me as particularly inspired--uniquely artistic and suited to you. As to 33 and 35, xoxo to Jo and Sam!

Love the way you wear colors! Your topper collection is to die for. Is the burgundy puff sleeve jacket new? I don't remember seeing it before and it's fab.

  • Debbie replied 1 month ago

I absolutely love each and everything. You look beautiful in everything. Love your hair.
I especially love those white balloon pants. Perfection!

  • Star (Lise) replied 1 month ago

So good to see your WIWs. You really have some cool toppers.

  • pirouette replied 1 month ago

Fabulous outfits my favourite is the white jeans and toffee leather jacket.

  • bella replied 1 month ago

I love seeing your colorful outfits, what a feast for the eyes! Thanks for sharing. Are you matching your vase in pic #3? :)

  • Kate replied 1 month ago

I love all your toffee outfits, but my favorite look is #16.

  • merwoman replied 1 month ago

Gorgeous! Love them all! Thank you for the inspiration!

  • ChristelJ replied 1 month ago

Your outfits are enchanting! I especially love the combination of long flared trousers with cropped jackets. But I also love them with long coats. Then there are the smart details such as your white belts and boots and glorious bags, which set the rich colors off. You are an artist.

  • Tanya replied 1 month ago

Gorgeous all around! Love seeing our suit in action.

  • RobinF replied 1 month ago

Wow, such fun outfits! You color mix perfectly. But my faves are the brights with toffee/cream - so soothing yet exciting.

  • Janet replied 1 month ago

What a treat! Your colorful looks are so fun and expressive, but I have to say I especially love the tonal toffee outfit on you. Classically beautiful!

  • Kyle replied 1 month ago

So much to love here, but I’m especially over the moon for your monochromatic toffee look in 5-6. It looks extra extra chic to me with your hair and the accessories. Must also give a shout out to the cutest of the cute pups Sam and Jo.

  • Joyce B replied 1 month ago

Beautiful outfits, loving your coats and the puppy who is ready to go out.

  • LJP replied 1 month ago

Another lover of the tonal toffee look in 5-6.  So sophisticated and quieter, which I admit I prefer.  But one thing struck me - your style is taking on a Scandi edge in some of these photos . The use of graphic slashes of colour (white bags, belts etc). etc. Or Mondrian art looks ?

I am off to see what those toffee jeans are ....

  • Roberta replied 1 month ago

Note to self; get out the barrel jeans and boots. Love them with the shearling moto!

  • Bijou replied 1 month ago

All gorgeous, my favourite is with your dogs. Toffee and cognac co-ordinates perfectly with your Yorkies!

  • Suz replied 1 month ago

Wow, I can't pick a favourite! I love how you can go from vivid colour to neutral and everything in between. Your closet is so well planned and coordinated! That first outfit is stunning on you and must be a sight for bored eyes in all the dark and rain! And then I love the switch up of footwear and pants in the second outfit. SO elegant! I also love the tonal reds in 26 and following. And who can resist an outfit with Yorkies?

I also appreciate your reflections. Taking pictures over time can really help us see what we are actually reaching for in real life, right? It's a useful strategy. I need to try to do more photo taking again as well.

  • Helena replied 1 month ago

Fab fab fab! The light warm neutrals are amazing on you Angie!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Thank you, everyone! I need to add the FINDS to this post. Will do so this morning.

Sharan, WOW! That is enormous praise. You are awfully generous with your words, and I'm blushing! Thanks so much for your detailed analytics, and Sam and Jo send kisses and tailwags :)

Bonnie and Debbie, you are so lovely! Appreciate your very kind words! The burgundy puff sleeve jacket is old. Before the pandemic!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Star, thank you! I have a relatively large topper capsule, and all are put to good use. My climate demands it :)

Thank you merwoman! My citron style sister. Fab to see you chime in.

Pirouette and Kate, thank you. I bat for Team Browns with you!

Bella, well spotted, and appreciate the kind words!

ChristelJ, such sweet words! WOW! Many thanks for the many compliments. I'm smiling :)

  • Irina replied 1 month ago

Wow, that suit outfit is so sharp! Fantastic!
Another of my favorites is the outfit with cream barrel leg pants #18-21.
    Also, your hair looks amazing!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Tanya, my burgundy suit twin! My favourite suit, and lovely to see you chime in. Thanks!

RobinF, how lovely to be soothed and excited! Appreciate your kind words :)

Janet, Kyle and LJP, thanks! I enjoyed wearing a column of toffee! My colourful eyewear and the cream accents made that possible - adds "the energy" that I need to feel fab in my outfit, IYKWIM (which Kyle alluded to, actually). I'll wear it again!

Also, Kyle! Sam and Jo send kisses, cuddles and toys your way ;)

LJP, Mondrian is a Dutch de Stijl artist, and his mention made me smile!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

JoyceB, thank you! Sam and Jo are always eager to get going on their walk. I'm never fast enough for them ;)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Roberta, excited to see your version of the combination! High shaft boots look good with cropped pants.

Thanks, Helena! Fun to have found my way through "the brown phase".

Suz, WOW! Such generous with your compliments! Thanks so much for the detailed analysis and kind words. Much appreciated. YES! Although I primarily wear pants and jeans, there is ample variation in colour, silhouette and proportions to prevent boredom - especially in our long cold and grey season...... as you know ;)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Bijou, the doggies steal the show, and rightly so! Matching them is the best part about wearing browns ;)

Irina, precisely why it's my favourite suit ;)  Thanks for the hair compliments too!

  • JAileen replied 1 month ago

First off, adorable dog pics!  Second, who knew tan could look so great?  I really love 19-21, with the tan jacket, white pants, and tan boots.

  • Sal replied 1 month ago

Stunning graphic pants looks Angie - very you and yes I can see the evolution.  Lots of crisp clean lines but with small twists here and there.  And all fitting perfectly of course.

Jo and Sam are looking very good too in their more tonal looks.

  • Dee replied 1 month ago

What a cheery parade of vibrant colours and polished combinations, all so delightfully styled together. Now that's definitely having fun with fashion!

  • Style Fan replied 1 month ago

Gorgeous outfits!  I love the toffee.  No surprise there.  Doggies are so sweet.

  • Jaime replied 1 month ago

Truly eye candy! What a treat! You mix bold colors so beautifully and the overall effect is somehow calming rather than chaotic. But then you switch to toffee and it is seems perfect too. And truly you belong in the encyclopedia of style next to how to wear barrel jeans. Gorgeous close ups with your adorable doggos!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

JAilleen, yes! Toffee is fab with whites, to my eye. Lots of familiar terrier tailwags and kisses coming your way :)

Sal, thanks for the awfully kind words and high praise! You are my red pants style sister! Fab you can see a mini style evolution, and Sam and Jo send cuddles!

Dee, you are as gracious as ever! Thanks for the lovely compliments, and hitting the nail on the head - I have daily fun with my outfits :)

Style Fan, earth-tone-loving- you likes the toffee best! And Sam and Jo say thank you.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Jaime, oh my word - The Encyclopedia of Style! (Remember when we used to look things up in Encyclopedias!!!) Thanks for the high praise and many compliments! Therapeutic.

I feel calm, cool, collected, and confident in my bold outfits. They are honest and authentic, which is probably why. I feel a little less calm in the column of toffee, although I enjoy it too!

  • Cookie replied 1 month ago

You look great! Surprisingly I think I like the jeans outfits best of all. Also the rose colored bag with the cream and tan.
The pups are killing me with their sweetness.

  • MsMary replied 1 month ago

Oh my goodness those colors are making me so happy!!

  • Nadine replied 1 month ago

    What everyone else said. Wow!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Cookie, that is unexpected - and I’m
loving it! Thank you, and Sam and Jo send playful prances and wagging tails your way :)

Mary, wooohooo! My happy colour style sister :)

    Nadine, thank you!

  • aloha emily replied 1 month ago

So many gorgeous looks!! I just love seeing how you make casual so polished and striking!!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Thank you, Emily. Lovely to see you chime in!

  • Brooklyn replied 1 month ago

I am overwhelmed! You are so good at colour! I think I like the burgundy suit and red/burgundy combinations the best but they are all so good. Are the pants in the first outfit jade green? I ask because I’m exploring jade green. Possible style collision!

  • lyn67 replied 1 month ago

Oh, what a treat!! Happy dance!
Love the lack of BLACKS, here!! This is how I like the best a colorful outfit with lots of creams and whites-you mastered it for sure Angie! I am with you not really wearing patterns this F/W. Adorable doggy and that red coat is beautiful!

Also love the art behind You-it perfectly matches your persona, proffesion and even color prefferences isn't it!:-)

  • Eliza replied 1 month ago

What a feast for the eyes, Angie. So beautiful and what fun to take a gray day in winter and ‘Angiefy’ it with tailored color. Wow.

I appreciate seeing how you’ve clustered the outfits. I’ll take a deeper look as there is a photo tutorial about deliberately optimizing curated wardrobe options to reinforce all the accumulated ylf wisdom. Thank you!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Thank you, Brooklyn! Appreciate the kind compliments! Burgundy-loving you likes the burgundy options best, of course :) YES. The trousers are a darker jade. Cooler toned than I usually wear - yet I love them. Loving our third style collision in one month even more! You'll rock jade pants!

Lyn67, such generous words, thank you! Dead right that there is no black in my wardrobe. Just some navy blue! And YES to the incredible painting Greg got for my birthday 22 years ago :)

Eliza, sooo lovely to see you chime in! I'm blushing at your kind words. You are wonderfully eloquent and sweet. Appreciated!

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 month ago

I feel a bit late to this post Angie! Lots of amazing outfits. My faves are with the gold shoes in 6 and the tonal burgundy outfits 11-15. And doggie pics!
The heel in 7 looks higher than I thought you wear now?

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Jenni, not too late to comment, and thanks for the kind words!

Speaking of your favourite gold shoes (in #6)  - the cream boots in #7 are the same as the gold - and they have splendid just low enough heels! I don't wear them for long commutes and shopping days, but they miraculously work for 4 to 5 hours - so shorter commutes and client meetings :)

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 month ago

Good to hear! I’m yet to wear my Pikolinos sandals with the slightly higher heel than usual- still not very high. It’s sandal weather now so hopefully soon :)

  • sabimct replied 1 month ago

I love these posts so much!
I hope I don't sound like a broken record, but I really learn so much!
I enjoy fashion very much [and most of my friends don't!] so I need to find somewhere to get inspiration - YLF is it for me!
I also learn here.  Things as simple as 'What shoes do I wear with this kind of outfit?" And quite often - there are answers here.
I love reading the comments too - what a fab community!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Jenni, hope you wear your new Pikolinos soon!

Sabrina, what an awesome comment! You are generous, and I'm smiling :) Thanks so much! Fab that YLF is your chosen fashion community. Feel free to ask fashion and style questions here. Always welcome!

Late to the party, but wanted to let you know that your sharing of outfits has motivated me to pick up my casual style a smidge after falling off the style wagon.  :-)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

    *happy dance*

Although you have hardly fallen off the style wagon, Carla ;)
