Loft Cable Sweater Vest: Pics ETA: OOTD

In the dressing room last week. Excuse the bad light.

The Loft cabled sweater vest happened to match what I was wearing that day. Fortuitous and meant to be :) ! It's a warm oatmeal so pass if you prefer cool-toned colours. (Wish it came in a pearl grey for cool toned people).

GORGEOUS quality and fabric. I'm impressed! 100% cotton. I think I paid $46 for it.

The gold shoulder buttons add a nice bit of glitzy chic.

I prefer this silhouette shorter, and bought a petite size, and sized down (I'm 5ft 6).

I'm into sweater vests at the moment, and added a few to my wardrobe. Fun to change things up.

Highly recommending this item if it's your type of thing.

ETA: Wearing my new sweater vest today! Scroll through to pg. 2 for details if you like :)

Beautiful vest on you, enjoy it. I may decide to knit something similar.

I just love sweater vests for the fall/winter season, this one is such a perfect match to your pants, great addition.

  • Lisa replied 2 weeks ago

I love when what I'm wearing matches something I'm thinking of purchasing. It makes the yes decision a no brainer because you know it works with your wardrobe! That vest is the perfect match for those pants, and it gives such a nice bit of texture to the overall look. The light colored shoes and white shirt are the perfect finishing touches for this outfit. What a great find that vest is!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

We've had some cooler days, and a sweater vest over a shirt with dressy pants or jeans feels perfect. I'm hooked ;)

  • Jenny H replied 2 weeks ago

What a great vest and how fortuitous that it matched so well with what you were already wearing!!

  • Star replied 2 weeks ago

All those creams together look so fab on you.  I like a sweater vest too.

  • nuancedream replied 2 weeks ago

Perfect! I purchased two lightweight sweater vests earlier this year that became workhorses during transitional spring weather. I enjoy the retro 70s feel of a sweater vest over a shirt with dressy pants. I decided to size down to an xs because I prefer a more fitted look.

  • Vicki replied 2 weeks ago

Angie, the texture, the color...Loft does it again, and well!  I love it.  Thank you for sharing your size, because this really helps.

  • Suz replied 2 weeks ago

So pretty! I love the rich texture. Adds so much to a monochrome outfit!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

    Thanks everyone!

Lisa, Suz, and Vicki, your observations about monochrome texture are astute. Makes a difference :)

Nuancedream, I bat for Team '70s with you.

  • RobinF replied 2 weeks ago

Very nice! Love it with your creamy pants.

I love vests so it is nice to see them having a moment. I have a few and maybe will add another!

    Perfectly you.

Looks great on you! Your longer hair is beautiful, too.

  • Tanya replied 2 weeks ago

Looks amazing on you. I would be all over it if the color was cooler. Your hair looks great, too!

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

Much appreciate the kind words! Thank you :)

Sweater vest blog posts are in order.

  • Cookie replied 2 weeks ago

Love the cozy look! So autumnal (though I am not quite ready for summer to be over).

  • Sisi replied 2 weeks ago

Lovely vest and you look fab in it!
Good idea for early Fall when it is still warm during the day but chilly in the morning.

  • Angie replied 2 weeks ago

    Thank you! :)

  • Runcarla replied 2 weeks ago

The rich texture of the vest makes the look.  Well, the outfit.  Your beautiful self makes the look!

  • delurked replied 2 weeks ago

This is cute on you, and it's nice to have 100% cotton pieces. This isn't something that would work on me, but a nice outfit for your climate.

  • Janet replied 1 week ago

That is so cute and what a great tonal look overall! I love the idea of sweater vests, but every time I try one, I end up wearing it once and then it sits. So I’ll enjoy it on you! :-)

  • sarah replied 1 week ago

Very cute! Love the tonal combination. What is your basic white button-down (button-up!) shirt these days?

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thanks, everyone!

    Carla, I'm blushing ;)

Sarah, nice to see you chime in! I have two white shirts I love at the moment:

The Commes de Garcon is short, androgynous, strict, straight, and cheeky.

The RL is soft, pretty, very fluid, and relaxed.

OMG, beautiful sweater vest , gorgeous color and shape. You look amazing in that color. Love so much.

  • BlueJay replied 1 week ago

Fantastic silhouette on you, Angie! I love the shape of the vest and the calm tones with the pop of colour from your glasses!

  • Karie replied 1 week ago

Beautiful! It looks like a nice, chunky knit and looks great with what you’re wearing.

  • kellygirl replied 1 week ago

This could not be any more perfect. That's a yummy knit!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

It's the last of hot Summer here in Seattle. Cooling down mid week, and perfect for this sweater vest :)

  • Ket replied 1 week ago

Your new vest gives me major 80s vibes! Love how you are serendipitously wearing it all preppy styled too. What a fun find, Angie!

I never did end up knitting that shawl collar, cabled sweater vest last fall. I wanted to, but shied away due to the extra bulk the cables would add. (It uses a heavier weight yarn.) But you have me seriously rethinking a sweater vest for this winter… seriously!

  • Val replied 1 week ago

That cable pattern is so good. I almost want this vest too, except a few details like the wide welt aren’t quite right for me.

  • aloha emily replied 1 week ago

I love this on you, Angie!!! Looks wonderful!

  • Angie replied 1 week ago

    Thanks, everyone!

Ket, humbled to have inspired you :)

    #OOTD: Sweater vest in action:

    • Boden Ponte pants (new)
    • Polo RL Shirt (old)
    • Loft Sweater Vest (new)
    • Vionic Loafers (old)
    • Pom Pom London Bag (old)
    • Red Specs (old)
  • Suz replied 1 week ago

Waving at my bag twin!  Love the red pants and the RL shirt.

I bought two of the Pom Pom London bags -- one silver and one red. I use the red one far more often, somewhat to my surprise!

  • Lisa replied 1 week ago

Those red pants drape beautifully on you. The stripe shirt adds nice visual interest especially combined with the texture from the vest. It’s a delight to see the multiple ways you are styling this piece for fall. I envy your cooler weather as I was in shorts again today. But I know we will get there eventually in my area. Thanks for sharing another OOTD Angie, YLF!

Love this version, too. That vest will have endless styling possibilities.
