I'm Wearing Grey!

I recently posted about whether I should get the Boden "Dog Person" pullover because I loved everything about it. But it was grey, which does not make me happy:

https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....n-the-grey

Very curiously, I decided to order the pullover anyway, just to see if I would love it WITH my red specs, white pearls, gold necklace and a pair of fun bottoms - which would offset the grey, bring life to it, and add the glitz.

I DO!

I got it last night, tried it on, and it instantly felt right. Zero hesitation. I wore it today to work with a delightful casual client who is a big dog person too. Perfect! This is how I styled it, and I was very happy wearing grey this way :)

(Really bad light. Dark early these days. And the checked pants are navy and citron - not grey!)

    You’re adorable, Angie.

  • Jaime replied 4 years ago

Wait where's Sam? Was he overwhelmed with emotion? You wear grey with the best of them  - and this grey seems to have a lot of white in it that perhaps helps. You could match with Greg now too! The grey looks gorgeous with the red and white and it will look gorgeous with mustard too I'd bet!

  • Brooklyn replied 4 years ago

If it makes you happy, it’s a winner! YLF!

  • replied 4 years ago

ACK - this is great!! You're making me want that jacket, and I don't even *like* red (on me) .  This is such a wonderful  outfit, I can hardly stand it.

  • deb replied 4 years ago

    It is perfect!!!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Brooklyn, dead right :)

    Aquamarine, thank you.

Shevia, Sam was busy with his toys! You're dead right too. The grey has a lot of white in it, and the writing is navy, which helps. Greg will be the best matchy-matchy accessory!

  • Jenn replied 4 years ago

Your red makes all the difference! I find gray really difficult too. Kudos to you for giving it a shot!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Lisa P, you need this jacket in cinnamon! Thanks for the outfit love.

deb, you need the pullover too.

Jenn, YES. The red specs bring the grey to life *for me*.

  • Cee replied 4 years ago

Baby steps, Angie... Baby steps... :D

  • Cee replied 4 years ago

...and I can't picture you hanging off a highrise in Gotham City murmuring, " I am the darkness... I am the night... " just yet :D :P

  • annagybe replied 4 years ago

    Yes to red!!!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Cee, wise words.

Anna, red saves the day again :)

  • Sal replied 4 years ago

It looks fab Angie - love the whole outfit actually. Grey is a super useful neutral and this demonstrates how to liven it up.

  • Christina F. replied 4 years ago

    YES!!!!

Red is one of the best pairings Ruth grey, for sure.

USPS has been holding on to my cat person sweater for days. They’ve been very annoying lately, lots of delays even in regular letters.

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

The grey makes your natural tones in hair and skin pop. Now you need the initial gold necklace in S and M to wear with your A . A dog person needs special accessories.

  • kellygirl replied 4 years ago

Ooh, spectacular! Love it on you. So glad you tried it!

  • rachylou replied 4 years ago

    Electric with the red!

  • AJ replied 4 years ago

Yay for grey! It looks FAB styled this way!

How is it that you are looking younger as the years go by? What's your youth formula? :)

  • Becky replied 4 years ago

I love the grey color on you! And you style it beautifully. I am curious why you don't think it is your color. Is it because it doesn't make you feel as happy as the other colors?

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

Bob Barker and Mr Skunky said told you so!!

  • Sara L. replied 4 years ago

Yes! It looks great like this! Such a cute sweater. I have both dogs and cats so wouldn't be able to pick one or the other.

  • Tanya replied 4 years ago

Super cute, red works it’s magic again. Hope Sam was proud.

  • RainB replied 4 years ago

Looks great on you! The specs really elevate everything :)

  • Gigi replied 4 years ago

Ooh, the red really brings the outfit to life! Love it!

  • Jane replied 4 years ago

I love it on you! Perfect! A beautiful outfit.

  • Katerina replied 4 years ago

Ooh, it looks super cute. Wonderful with the checked trousers and the accessories really jazz it up. I wanted the red boots since I saw them on you and now I also want the red jacket! What a beautiful shade of red.

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

    Way to wear grey!!!

It looks superb on you with the red! And probably doesn't even show the dog hair! :)

  • Mirjana replied 4 years ago

You are adorable Angie, I am happy that you bought that pullover, lovely.

  • Sisi replied 4 years ago

Yay! You look very well in that shade that I call "pearl grey" and it looks wonderful combined with red. And of course, how not to love a pullover with that funny doggie on it  and the writing "dog person" ? :)

  • kkards replied 4 years ago

when you love something you can make it work....emotional dressing at it's best...
    YLF...love the pops of red

  • Runcarla replied 4 years ago

Fun and so cute (in a grown up way). Honestly, I think of pale grey (like your top) as silver without the shine, not really grey.

  • Helena replied 4 years ago

    Love love love!!!

  • Bijou replied 4 years ago

Love it! You have styled it perfectly and it is such a winner. I bet your client could not stop smiling at your fab sweater. I am sure that this sweater will be your go-to for dog walks.

  • Style Fan replied 4 years ago

I love it!  Now I am tempted and I don't wear grey.

  • nemosmom replied 4 years ago

Love this on you! I was wrong!

  • MidwestrnChic replied 4 years ago

    Perfection! Never say never...

  • lyn67 replied 4 years ago

...which is fab on you-Angie!-but I'm partial to grey, I always found it a sophisticated and  delicate shade!

  • RobinF replied 4 years ago

I love this on you! Gray and red are a fabulous combination. Really though the gray tee will be nice with a lot of your brights.

  • Kathie replied 4 years ago

Super cute! The red brings it to life!

  • Vildy replied 4 years ago

Impressed how you made your outfit incorporating grey maximal. No one would ever have that first impression of grey!

  • Laura replied 4 years ago

The color looks fab on you and hey, the sentiment outweighs the color any day!

  • Laurie replied 4 years ago

and we didn't wear grey why again?! This is so darned adorable!

  • DeAnna replied 4 years ago

I love it ! Now I need the dog sweater, I bought the dog print dress from Boden last year and its a big favorite.Love Boden.

  • Kyle replied 4 years ago

I knew it! The version I ordered as a gift arrived yesterday and it’s so stinking cute. Your styling is spot on, of course.

  • nuancedream replied 4 years ago

Grey is not one of my happy colors but I couldn't resist this BR sweater at the consignment store. The lighter stripes are a pale metallic gold, which are more harmonious with my skintone.

  • Mainelady replied 4 years ago

Your smile says it all: fabulous!

  • Dana replied 4 years ago

There are not enough words in this world to say how fab your outfit is!!! I am about to pull the trigger on those boots! Although I have to be boring and get black. Angie, I am so inspired!!!

  • Bonnie replied 4 years ago

I knew you could make this top work for you. It's perfect!

  • K. Period. replied 4 years ago

Yippee!!! Mine arrived yesterday too and I love it as well. Twinsies! <3

  • Marilyn replied 4 years ago

Fantastic!  Never say never, right!  ;)

  • Kate replied 4 years ago

Pretty darned adorable. Especially like it with the pearls and gold initial necklace and the red outwear, booties, and specs. As always, your smile is your best accessory.

  • Susie replied 4 years ago

It is perfect for you! I love the red with it.

  • citygirldc replied 4 years ago

Grey is my second go-to neutral next to black. You look fab.

  • Barbara Diane replied 4 years ago

Perfect example of fancying up a more casual but really cute top.

  • ChristelJ replied 4 years ago

Love that shade of grey with your pretty hair!

  • MsMaven replied 4 years ago

You look wonderful in this shade of gray. I don't like to wear gray either, but have learned that the right shade of light gray looks just fine and feels good on me.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thank you all so much! You’re lovely and awfully gracious!

Sorry I can’t comment fully today. I’m having computer challenges and am only on my phone.

  • Janet replied 4 years ago

HaHAH! I knew it! The grey looked light enough to me that I suspected it would be brilliant with your brights. You wear it well!

  • Cardiff girl replied 4 years ago

A lovely look on you.Grey and red is a classic combination.

  • replied 4 years ago

    Yay! :)

  • LaPed replied 4 years ago

Ah, the Sock Monkey approach! I love the look of grey brightened up with red and white. Classic. :)

  • Alicewonderland replied 4 years ago

So glad you got it after all! It’s very cute. Good call.

  • Preppy Pear replied 4 years ago

Oh, yay! You are as stunning as ever in gray. I never doubted that you would look fantastic in gray, but how cool that you are also enjoying it!
How does this affect your general feelings towards gray?

  • unfrumped replied 4 years ago

    Lovely use of graphic T!

  • Eliza replied 4 years ago

Whoa! You look great and the bright red with the soft gray is magic. The pearls also add a lot. As to the sweater message, perfect! Love it all.

  • bella replied 4 years ago

I actually like gray, and this sweater is adorable and looks great on you!

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

Thank you ALL so much! Sorry I could not respond properly - had computer trouble all day. Sorted now, thankfully.

    It's a pullover, not a tee, btw,

Preppy Pear and Becky, good questions. We all have colours and neutrals we do not gravitate toward. Black, grey, purple, and muddy colours are those for me usually. So although I LOVE this grey graphic pullover, I will not be building a grey capsule until my emotions change :)

La Ped and Joy, you crack me up.

  • Roxanna replied 4 years ago

I do love this on you and how it signs the crisp separates - less optic and stark than white. I'm glad you listened to your heart!

  • mtnsofthemoon replied 4 years ago

So happy it worked out for you!!!  I absolutely love it with the red accents (my red loving twin).  Smashing and cheeky!  I rand across this the other day and thought of you.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

    Thanks, ladies.

    CUTE brooch!

  • JAileen replied 4 years ago

I finally ordered the dog sweater from Boden, and then realized Nordstrom is offering it too. I think I’ll be able to work it in with my other dozen grey sweaters. :) Just kidding - I don’t really know how many I have.

  • Bennett replied 4 years ago

I don't know how I would get dressed without grey in my wardrobe!

  • cindysmith replied 4 years ago

You are so adorable, and I think this sweater is great in this outfit. I wish I was this creative :-)

  • Cee replied 4 years ago

Gotham thug dangling off building: " Who are you !!?? "

    Grey garbed vigilante: " I'm Bat-Ange ! " ( turns to camera with a glinty smile and a " ping ! " sound effect )
