HOLIDAY Extravaganza!

My holiday capsule is about mix and match SEPARATES!

A lot of it is old, and very old. Some of it is newer, and brand new!

The tan capelet with faux fur collar is 16 years old. The  gold polo, cream pants, and cream horsey jumper are new.

Apart from the red skirt and capelet, I wear these items throughout the year in less Christmassy combinations :)

The capsule is versatile! I add to it with the right pieces so that I have an assortment of outfits that vary in dressiness. I wear the more casual looks to host the holidays at home.

I've worn many of the looks many times already, and will wear them again. Some looks will be debuted soon.

All outfits are shown with the same gold boots, blue specs, and one of two bags. Keeps it simple!

True to my style: dramatic bottoms, classic tops, minimal with the shoes, white pearls, gold as my metal, modest silhouettes, statement bag and specs, lots of whites and brights. Navy - not black. Mix of trendy and classic. Love Ralph Lauren Polo!

Thanks for looking. xo

Wow! What a capsule! You look both elegant and fun in every one of these. Love the touches of metallic and the cheeky print sweaters. Love the navy with gold and of course the red skirt is such a star, whatever you pair it with. I note that you do your best to stay cozy -- no sleeveless items here.

    I can't pick a favourite!

What outerwear do you tend to wear with the blue skirt? Another short jacket? Or the capelet? And what a great purchase that was. Sometimes occasion wear goes on and on. It is even better on you now than it was when you first purchased.

    Love the new hair!

  • Irina replied 1 month ago

    Wow!
What a treat! Thank you for sharing, Angie! So many fabulous combinations. Your holiday capsule is so fun but also very versatile. My absolute favorites are gold boots and a red full skirt.

  • Dee replied 1 month ago

WOWZA!! What an incredible collection of holiday outfits to suit any occasion. That faux fur capelet is just so glamorous. Love the many wonderful combinations, impossible to pick a favourite. Looks like a very fashionable festive season.

  • Jaime replied 1 month ago

Pretty as a picture! What a delight to see you in your holiday splendor. I like the through line of gold boots - they are as much you signature as white footwear I think. I admire how every piece looks like it was tailor made for you because the fit and silhouette suit you so perfectly. No favorites or, rather, they all are my favorites.

  • Sal replied 1 month ago

Thanks for sharing these great looks.  I love the classic tops paired with big skirts or flared pants.  And the gold boots are stellar.

I really enjoy seeing the classics mixed with the new pieces.  It allows some evolution as your style changes.

It's quite a different vibe here in December and January with long days and warm weather.  I do dress up more because we are more social.  And i love having a reason to do that.

  • MsMary replied 1 month ago

THE TEDDY BEAR WITH THE TULLE SKIRT!!! It makes me so happy!! And they are all just fab. Standing ovation from down here in So Cal!!

  • Kyle replied 1 month ago

I’m immediately struck by the gorgeous fit of these items. The pants look tailor-made for you. And I love what you said about wearing these items (with a couple of exceptions) all year long. These beauties are not sitting in the closet unworn waiting for a special occasion.

These are luxe looking classics and I love them all. This is a beautiful and enviable capsule. You are fully ready for the holidays, and then some.

  • Sloper replied 1 month ago

So festive!!  I adore holiday clothes.

  • aloha emily replied 1 month ago

Oh my goodness, Angie- so chic!! I love your combinations! And the coats!! Inspiring as always.

  • slim cat replied 1 month ago

OMG! Perfect Holiday styles! Love everything especially all white and gold looks ( #11-19 )!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

    Thank you, Sloper and Emily!

Such generous and therapeutic compliments, Suz! WOW! Much appreciated and thanks so much. YES!!! I am very covered and cozy! I run cold, and need to stay warm or I'm miserable. I wear long underwear under my skirts in Winter :)

To answer your question: I wear my tailored red maxi coat over the navy tulle skirt when I need a coat. Otherwise, a short pleather jacket, or denim jacket - of which I have many!

  • Laura replied 1 month ago

The Polo Bear outfit has me jumping up and down with delight! Love that one sooo much! And the pinstripe pants with the contrasting stripes! Omgosh. I am over the moon and out orbiting in a galaxy far, far away! Thanks for the holiday gorgeousness! 10 billion out of 10!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Irina, thank you! My favourite BIG skirt of all time, and ditto on the gold boots :)

Dee, you are very gracious, and I'm smiling! Thanks for being so lovely and positive!

Jaime, thanks for your generous compliments! All favourites is not too shabby ;) LOVE that you just made my gold boots signature to my style!

Sal, thanks for the astute observations and kind words as always! Enjoy dressing in your Summery best for the holidays :)

  • JAileen replied 1 month ago

I just love 7-8, but also 17-19.  Just so lovely!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

MsMary, our Queen Tulle Skirt!!! Your SoCal standby ovation means a lot, and thanks so much! You NEED a RL Teddy Bear top ;)

Kyle, such sweet encouraging words, as always! I'm blushing, and appreciate you!

Slim Cat, you are awfully sweet! Thanks for especially loving the White Out looks ;)

Laura, you are delightful! Thanks for being a brilliant cheerleader, hillarous, and one of the best positive forces on the planet ;) - Wear your RL Teddy Bear top with your tulle skirt!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

JAileen, thank you! I love a good polo top, and I need a Yorkie RL sweater ;)

  • Cookie replied 1 month ago

Loooove the tulle skirt so much and I bet it looks great peeking out from the red coat!

  • Suz replied 1 month ago

Thanks for responding, Angie. As Sal says, it is a real pleasure to see the gradual evolution of your wardrobe, and showing us capsules like this is a great way to do that. I remember items from last year, or five years ago, and see you remix them in new ways so that it always feels fresh yet always feels like you.

I have my own secret reasons for asking what outerwear you use with the tulle skirt, of course!

I actually donated my own tulle skirt this year...I just wasn't feeling it...but I have a long taffeta like skirt in navy and I got a new cotton tiered skirt and I need to figure out how to keep warm when wearing it if I wear it outdoors. I think I will opt for the following, depending on temperatures and venue. :)

  • ChristelJ replied 1 month ago

Divine!  You look equally amazing in skirts and in flare bottoms. Love the deep jewel tones and the creams equally too. The gold boots, trim tops, fun bags and toppers - Gosh, I can’t take my eyes off these combos. Of course your beautiful hair and smile take them all to the next level.

  • JAileen replied 1 month ago

Yes, you need a RL Yorkie sweater!

  • Jenni NZ replied 1 month ago

What Irina said- the red skirt and gold boots are my favourites too. I will probably wear my 2017 red dress to host on Christmas Day- with my new red sandals.

  • Carla replied 1 month ago

Ooooh!  You are getting me excited about holiday dressing up!  Love all your outfits, however have to single out your winter white combo as simply stellar!

  • Star (Lise) replied 1 month ago

What a feast! All down right gorgeous. The cream outfits are my favourite as well as the capelet. So feminine with a retro vibe.

  • Debbie replied 1 month ago

Absolutely amazing. You can see the careful curation here. Every item sparks joy. As I update my capsule next year. I am going to make a rule not to settle for anything but perfection.

  • Sisi replied 1 month ago

All super fabulous! Special love for the two skirt outfits - smashing!, the all white outfit and the combination of green and blonde of # 24!

  • Suntiger replied 1 month ago

Plonk! Love the column of cream and the cape especially!
Glad Suz asked about outerwear. One reason I don't reach for skirts in winter is I rarely like them with toppers (on me).

  • Janet replied 1 month ago

Wow, have you got your holiday style nailed! Everything mixes and matches, and the gold accents are wonderful.

Can I tell you how much I love the pants? The treatment of the pinstripes on those trousers is so good — the kind of subtle but interesting detail I love. And the fit of the green pants is beautiful — I just realized by looking at your finds that they are by one of my new favorites for pants, Me + Em! They do excellent weight and drape in their trousers.

Enjoy your festive gatherings in style! I have just a few plans ahead with only a need for a little casual-festive outfit, but I’ll try to bring a bit more of my A-game as you’ve inspired!

  • RobinF replied 1 month ago

Wow, what a gorgeous capsule. That red skirt is such a show stopping piece. And the gold boots are perfect with it all.

  • LJP replied 1 month ago

I don't know what to say other than, WOW.  This is best collection of holiday pieces (that DON'T INVOLVE BLACK!!) I've ever seen.  So beautifully presented and styled here, and everything looks new and fresh.  According to the Internet, a Ralph Lauren Christmas is trending in every way , and you fit right in ;)

In all seriousness, the gold boots, navy skirt, red skirt, and those navy pinstripe pants (are those new?) are my favourite pieces. I truly envy your holiday style and attitude, Angie.  xo

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Cookie, thanks for the tulle skirt love! It works surprisingly well with the tailored long red coat.

Suz, fab you chimed back in. Thanks for the evolutionary analysis! I make a point of remixing old with new in fresh ways, so glad you and Sal noticed. You have great memories!

Love your navy patterned skirts! And the outerwear you've chosen to wear with them is fab! Actually, I've worn our cream puffer with my tulle skirt too - to watch fireworks from our balcony! Your red coat might work - and your navy military jacket ;)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

ChristelJ, thanks for the awfully kind and expressive words! I'm blushing, and you are so lovely.

Jenni, your red dress and sandals look sounds fably festive! I'll wear my red skirt to match.

Carla and Star, fab to impart excitement! Thanks for the sweet compliments, and extra White Out affection. It's close to my heart too ;)

Debbie, thank you! Excited to help you put your holiday capsule together.

Sisi, aaaaawwh! Sam, Jo and I say thank you! More White Out affection makes me smile :)

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Suntiger, fab to see you chime in. Thanks for more White Out affection! Those big long skirts can be tricky to style with toppers. Personally, I keep them very long, or very short.

Janet, my wide pants pants style sister! Thanks for the compliments and extra pants love. Those navy pinstriped pants are a fave of Greg's :)  Hope to see your festive outfits soon!

RobinF, thank you! The red skirt is fun to wear, and surprisingly comfy too.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

LJP, WOW!! Thanks so much for the high praise, and awfully kind words! Very generous of you, and very much appreciated! Touched and hugs! I would love to work for Ralph Lauren one day ;)

To answer your question: The navy pinstripe pants are from Anthropologie. Bought in 2022, so three years old. They are a fun cut, don't crease, and comfy!

I got sooooo lucky finding gold boots that agree with my feet. A tall order. Might need to duplicate them....

  • Inge replied 1 month ago

I love the mix of old and new! You make everything look fresh and elegant. Every single item is beautiful in itself, and the way you've paired everything together makes each outfit look festive and special. The shiny gold boots add an extra festive touch. You look super fab!! Have fun celebrating!!

  • Laurie replied 1 month ago

This a big wow post, for sure. Love it all, and it's so very festive. I particularly love the cream and gold combinations, as well as the navy and green. And the navy sweater and skirt.
Enjoy all of the outings and gatherings!

  • pil replied 1 month ago

So fun - you certainly look ready to celebrate! While I am generally drawn to color, the winter white and navy ensembles are so beautiful.
    and those puppers❤️

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Inge, thank you my sweet dear friend! Such kind compliments and I'm smiling! Celebrating with you in spirit :)

Laurie, appreciate the wonderful words! And your assortment of
    faves is awesome!

Pil, wonderful to see you chime in! Thanks for the neutral love! Tail wags and puppy kisses on the way.

  • Style Fan replied 1 month ago

Fabulous capsule!  I love the Ralph Lauren Christmas theme.  You wear that look so well.  The teddy bear sweater is one of my favourites.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Style Fan, thank you! I relate to Ralph Lauren style :)

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 1 month ago

Wow, what a fantastic set of outfits and holiday capsule, Angie. And these outfits are just a handful of the many gorgeous ones I bet you are creating with this capsule. So many possibilities!

I like your approach of creating a holiday capsule from items that aren't just special-occasion. I do that, too, and have been enjoying wearing my festive outfits for a few occasions recently. Mine are more casual looking than yours, but so is my style overall.

  • lyn67 replied 1 month ago

Oh, I so wanted to see the red Karen Millen skirt in action-and it didn't dissapoint-so those with the skirt are my faves here! BUT, I am in love with the columns of cream(&gold) and the all navies in 7-9, 8 is  very elegant AND very curent! Indeed, all true to your style, Angie, recognizable all the way from the very first to the very last one! A trully fab holiday capsule! Enjoy!:-)

ETA: I miss the pearl necklace in nr 20. Did you left it out deliberately, or  was in a hurry?

  • Carol replied 1 month ago

not a TV person, but is there flooding in Seattle? Are you alright? Assuming so, but I know those can get nasty when you need to get outside.

Will check back into the forum soon...

  • Olive Green replied 1 month ago

As all have said, it’s a happy Wow with each outfit. The shiny gold boots make me smile, and the skirts are so fab.
You and Suz and the tulle skirts, very wow.

  • April replied 1 month ago

Golden Glam Girl! Sparkle on. :)

  • anne replied 1 month ago

Absolutely amazing! Hard to pick a face, bit I think the tulle and red skirts and the fire capelet.

    Have a wonderful time, Angie!

  • Carol replied 1 month ago

...and such a great capsule. I am in love with the gold kitten booties--probably because they are as shiny as a candy wrapper. I love 4-6, with the green pants and puff-sleeve top. I always love the red "prom skirt," and I am sure I will get something like that at some point. Finally, the capelet...so beautiful. I tried one on like that recently in a mustard color. But very cheaply made, and looked bad on me, so I left it.

  • The Cat replied 1 month ago

    Stunning looks, as always, Angie!

I am a bit surprised to see that you don't sport your red eyewear (as in your icon pic) when wearing red bottoms. But perhaps you no longer have the red, or you now just prefer the light blue. :-)

  • Karie replied 1 month ago

I LOVE all of these! My total favorites, though, are the red skirt and the blue skirt. And the gold boots. And the teddy bear sweater. And….everything!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

    Thank you all, very much!

Sharan, big high five to you! And I know you looked KILLER at every holiday event :)

Lyn67, such sweet compliments! To answer your question: I didn't forget the pearl necklace! It doesn't work with the collar of that top so I left it off :)

Carol, it has been VERY wet and windy here! Thankfully, we are fine, and no flooding in our part of Seattle. Hope you find a fun caplet and prom skirt soon!

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Olive Green, April and Anne, wonderful to see you chime in! Appreciate the kind words :)

The Cat, I LOVE my red specs! I wear them a LOT! I simply prefer the extra dimension of light blue in these holiday looks, if that makes sense :)

Lots of recent red specs outfits here!

Karie, thanks for being delightful :)

  • Ket replied 1 month ago

I am dancing with joy at your style! You always make me feel so inspired, Angie! Loooooveth all of the gold accents/accessories too! I am more of a gold and copper metals -- even at Christmas. Silver has to be very warm and a bit tarnished for me to like it or even wear it.

Really need to get some festive wear going for next Christmas. I am thinking of knitting a Christmas sweater with Scotty dog or two on it... Or some chickens hehe :D

  • Lisa replied 1 month ago

Such a fun medley of holiday outfits. The gold accents really tie all the colors together nicely. Of course, the ivory horse jumper is my favorite! And it is stunning paired with the tan cape. Such an elegant combination.

  • Angie replied 1 month ago

Thank you both, for the kind words!

Ket, I'm holding you to knitting a holiday sweater with festive chickens and doggies! Sounds brilliant  :)

Lisa, a festive horsey high five! Have worn both horsey tops for the holidays already, and will wear them again!

  • Vicki replied 4 weeks ago

Every outfit glows with perfection and polish! It’s difficult to choose one over the other and I love how the gold shoes work with everything, from the cream outfit to the statement red skirt and everything else. Your new haircut looks fabulous and, of course, #24 with Sam and Jo cradled between you and your pretty blue glasses is the ultimate showstopper! A perfect holiday and special occasion wardrobe that will endure.

  • cat2 replied 4 weeks ago

Happy Holidays! It’s great to see a remix of old and new that feels so fresh.

  • Angie replied 3 weeks ago

Vicki, that's high praise! WOW. Many thanks for your awfully generous words!

cat2, like you, I find it satisfying to remix old with new :)

  • Cee replied 3 weeks ago

    Stylish and Yorkie appropriate :D

  • Angie replied 3 weeks ago

Thank you, and lovely to see you chime in, Cee :)
