FAB Checked Italian Wool Pants for $85 (Pics)

I LOVE wearing dressy plaid and checked pants. They're a whole lot more comfortable than jeans, and give me great joy :)

These came today... and I haven't styled them, but decided to keep them on with the jumper I had on already because they are sublime! I cut the tags off in 2 minutes. Perfect fit (although I might need to take in the waist a little), crease-resistant, FULLY LINED, refined, comfy and luxurious. I can do yoga in them.

They are NOT a poly-viscose-elastane blend like the description says. It's a mistake. They are 96% stretch Italian wool and 4% spandex.

The honey brown check is darker in person and quite earthy, but the blue in the check makes them very versatile for my style.

These are everyday pants for me and signature to my style, so I've ordered the pink too. The honey brown cost a discounted $85 and the pink $69 on Nordstrom's flash sale last week. Every so often, J.Crew hits it out of the ball park for me....and this was how this year.

New pink suede boots are just to show you! Not styled, but work with the pants.

Life in Seattle is still very restrictive. More COVID restrictions put back into place this week. Partial lockdown, although the county in which I live has been doing well. Our governor is fab and very cautious. We are good, working from home, making the best of everything, and staying safe.

Onward we go! xo

Those look really nice! Wow, lined wool pants at that price — kind of amazing.

  • kkards replied 3 years ago

Nice find! How fab that they are lined! So rare these days. They fit like a dream, and just seem so you...and to get them at a great price, its a WOW!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, ladies! I'm thrilled with them. Had to wear them right away...

  • Ginkgo replied 3 years ago

Beautiful quality pants and what a perfect fit on you!

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

I saw the matching blazer locally, and it’s a good thing it was not a good fit on
me- since I don’t really need more blazers. But super fabric. Glad tid pants work for you!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

    Good looking! Nice fit!

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

    Happy dacks :D

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

OH!! Those are fabulous on you, Angie! WOW!!

I'm really curious to know if the pink are going to be wool as well!

I LOVE the earthy check with the blue -- those might even work for me!

Superb fit and love the booties, too.

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

Wow, those couldn't look any better! Amazing fit and style on you, Angie! Love these!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

Great score!  Thanks for sharing your find.

  • Suz replied 3 years ago

Ha -- none in this fabric in my size. (Can't order them from Nordstrom, only J. Crew and they don't have). Second pair of J. Crew pants I missed out on this year. But in truth, I don't really need another pair of pants...

It looks like the pink might be the viscose etc. blend they say it is. On the J. Crew site, these blue and tan ones are called wool and are listed separately from the pink.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks, ladies! You're all so nice....

Unfrumped, thanks for the fabric validation. It is GORGEOUS. And here's the Find for the blazer.

Suz, I thought of you! YES, they could work well for you too. Slamdunk with all your blue. Sorry they're gone in your size :( The pink will be here soon, and I'll keep you posted.

  • Tanya replied 3 years ago

These are stunning on you Angie, and what a find!   Now you make me want them too.    I am glad that you are doing well and staying safe.

During the summer, I got the same pants in stretch wool, in solid turquoise, as well as a matching blazer.   It was during their super sales.  I haven't worn the suit yet, but hoping for a more normal life next year and plenty of chances to wear it.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

You are wise, Tanya! WOW! Love the suit! Glad you got it :)

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

The pants look like a great buy, and the fit perfect.  I love the pattern.  Your new boots look great, too!

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

Great pants Angie - what a good buy!!  The fit is gorgeous.  The pink will be awesome with the pink suede boots.

  • Roxanna replied 3 years ago

I think the pink is the poly/viscose/elastane and not lined - at least that’s what they are on the J Crew site, whereas your checked ones are listed as wool and lined.

But there are solids that are wool and lined that might appeal - particularly cobalt that Suz might love!

Love the pants on you Angie - I would snap them up in a second of they looked like that on me!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Those pants were made for you. I like them with the blue sweater and see that Sam approves.

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

Love the new pants. They look very versatile and will fit right in with your brights.

  • Jaime replied 3 years ago

Gorgeous! They look like they were made for you and perfect with the blue sweater. Hope to see the pink version soon!

  • Nadya replied 3 years ago

Amazing! How great to find such good slacks in a wonderful fabric. Fun to see you with a bit of brown, one of my favorite colors and not prevalent in retail, though it’s creeping back. Would you pair them with turquoise, another color we both love? Or would that not work with the blue in the pattern? Really happy you got the pink, too!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

Lovely pants and great fit on you! How fortunate that it's lined and such a great fabric ( I remember when a lot of pants from BR were that way ...some years ago )!
I'll be waiting for more pics with those fab pants :) !

  • Debbie replied 3 years ago

Angie they are beautiful and suit your style so well. What a find!

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

    Divine!!!!!

  • anchie replied 3 years ago

Amazing fit. I am really happy with my J.Crew Remi pants - best fitting pants that I currently have and was planning to test Cameron model too. What would you advise on sizing?

After 2 weeks of partial lockdown that did not bring numbers down, we just started with full lockdown - basically everything closed except essential shops and 24/7 curfew, but I still have to go to office 1-2 times per week.

  • Jane replied 3 years ago

What a lovely pair of pants! They look gorgeous and it is super that they are totally lined. I love that you cut the tags in 2 mins. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am sorry that you are in another lockdown. It is good to hear that the governance is good. A cautious approach seems to work well, rather than rapid knee jerk reactions.

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Fab trousers! Great material and price, love the colour as well!

  • Karie replied 3 years ago

Nice find! Even better that they are lined. The fit looks spot on!

  • replied 3 years ago

They look great on you! We're beginning to shut things down here again too. I'm fine to be at home most of the time, and will continue to be when this is all over, but soooo very tired of Covid :(

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Wow, wool and completely lined??? Sounds a gem, think they would be too hot for me, but so happy for you- they also have some great colorways, both.

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

Super cute pants and look great on you! It's always a good sign when you have to wear it right away :)

  • RobinF replied 3 years ago

Also, the blush boots are paler than I expected. Is the photo color true to real life?

  • delurked replied 3 years ago

What a nice find for you. and even better to find two, plus marked down. Though my life doesn’t call for wool pants, I do enjoy the way they drape and wear.

  • Cardiff girl replied 3 years ago

What a lovely collection of pink things to wear and very nice pants.l couldn’t wear them as I am wool sensitive but they look fab on you.

  • replied 3 years ago

Another "better than the model" , they look great and I like the fresh look of the check type pattern and the colors. Checks can seem easier to wear than plaid.

  • nemosmom replied 3 years ago

Wow Angie, how fab are these pants on you?!?! Not surprising you wore them immediately - they look AMAZING on you!

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

Thanks for the kind words, ladies!

Anchie, I think they'll need a little waist adjustment to be absolutely perfect, so that's next on the list. Maybe for you too. I'd say TTS other than that.

RobinF, the light is so bad at this time of year. Dark at 4.30pm. The boots are a little more pink in person - like the stock photo.

Nadya, lovely to see you chime in. I miss your outfits. YES, I can wear turquoise with these pants!

Slimcat, I miss the days that most wool pants were lined too :(

  • Laura replied 3 years ago

Blue and brown are back! The combo looks fresh! Happy to see you wearing the combo, and beautifully! The blue and brown color combo reminds me of the early 2000s, before grey and black became the dominant neutrals for a loooooong time.

  • replied 3 years ago

I love a good stretch wool pant - happy for that you found these!  Pink boots are really nice too!

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

    These suit you perfectly Angie!

  • Christina F. replied 3 years ago

LOVE! The boots are great too - I got some new Frye boots myself recently.

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Beautiful, the pink check looks gorgeous too. Those boots are so lovely too.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 3 years ago

I love these pants, and how the pink boots match perfectly but are much less expected than e.g. taupe.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

    Thanks so much, ladies!

The waist is being altered at the moment - my dry cleaners who is open and a block down the road can do that safely and easily. I'll have them back on Tuesday and look forward to wearing them :)

I am excited about the pink....
