Another Chop! And #OOTD

2 months since the first chop. Had 4 inches cut off, then.

Had another 3 inches cut off today (no colour, just a cut). I need 11 foils twice a year to maintain this colour. So easy!

I'm not a long hair person. I'll enjoy long hair on others :)

Turns out, I don't like the feeling of hair on my neck.

I'm going shorter in stages. Enjoying the different lengths. This is what I want at the moment!  A short layered bob that I can wear straight and wavy. This is straight. Will post it wavy next time.

Felt like wearing my old floral dress and ancient gilet today. Boots are three years old. Bag and strap are new this year.

I'm delighted! Feeling VERY refreshed. And it's soooooo much easier to manage.

Thanks for looking. xo

Great haircut, Angie! How exciting. I love the length on you. And dynamite outfit.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Sharan, thank you! Appreciate the kind words.

I admit: chopping off my hair is thrilling ;)

  • LaPed replied 3 months ago

Very sleek! I love a fresh chop. This is such a timeless, elegant bob. Will you wear it wavy too?

I also struggle with the feeling of hair on my neck. Definitely prefer my pixie/bixie/micro-bob lengths. Current status below!

  • Debbie replied 3 months ago

Love your hair! You outfit is gorgeous!

  • pil replied 3 months ago

Love that cut on you, Angie!

  • Bonnie replied 3 months ago

Hair and outfit are both great! I need a haircut but decided to wait until after Halloween, I'm going to be a witch so keeping it long will work with the costume.

  • Helena replied 3 months ago

Love it Angie ... You wear short hair like no one's business, just lovely on you x

  • Cookie replied 3 months ago

Oooh, I like this dress! Hair looks great too. It’s good to know what you like.

  • LJP replied 3 months ago

Ok - this keeps getting better and better.  Which I know sounds like I didn't care for your long hair, which isn't true at all.......but this newest length is fabulous!  I love you in a crisp, defined cut.  Gorgeous outfit too :).

  • Karie replied 3 months ago

Hair and outfit are both gorgeous!

  • Irina replied 3 months ago

Looks gorgeous! You are blessed with wonderful hair.

  • LJP replied 3 months ago

And to La Ped - I LOVE your cut !  This is how I'd love to wear my hair - but I don't have enough of it. Great bangs :)

  • Sal replied 3 months ago

Awesome cuts Angie and La Ped! I too don’t like hair on my neck. You both suit these different bobs so well.

I think it’s a shame that long hair is so ubiquitous with teens - so fun to experiment with different styles but it doesn’t really happen so much now.

  • Carol replied 3 months ago

The hair cut is STRONG!!! It looks like your hair is much thicker than mine, though I have the same length. And I love that navy gilet with dress so much. Fall colors, but bright, somehow.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thanks, everyone! I needed to grow my hair long one more time just to be sure that I never want to have long hair again ;)

La Ped, YES! I'll wear the new 'do wavy and straight. I like to change things up. Hubs Greg used the word elegant, so you guys are on the same wavelength.  And I love your blunt bixie fringe! Really suits you.

Thanks Debbie, Pill, Karie and Cookie! Lovely to see you chime in.

  • Kate replied 3 months ago

Super cute. I've always loved your short cuts. They were made for you.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

bonnie, anything for a great costume! Excited to see your new haircut :)

Helena and Kate, that's high praise - thank you very much :)

LJP, agreed! Crisp and clean work well for my style. Thank you! You'd also rock La Ped's blunt fringe :)

Irina and Carol, my hair looks full when it's short. It's deceiving! I have fine hair. Appreciate the kind words though ;)

Sal, high five to a neck-free of hair, and thank you! I know, right? Gen Z is all about very long hair. Actually, most people around me have long hair - all ages. It's a preference, for sure

  • JAileen replied 3 months ago

    Gorgeous!

    *chef’s kiss*

  • Style Fan replied 3 months ago

Beautiful hairstyle.  Looks fabulous.  I also love La Ped's hair.

  • Roberta replied 3 months ago

I agree, it looks fantastic- and it is so satisfying to have a big chunk of your hair cut off. I would love to know someday how you achieve the wave. Is it naturally wavy and you blow dry it straight? Or vice versa?

  • Dee replied 3 months ago

Wonderful fresh length on you ANGIE, looking so fab in that outfit too. I so relate to having challenges with wearing longer hair, as my dense fine hair gets easily messed up in the weather. My sweet spot seems to be just below the ears with a layered bob.

  • Star (Lise) replied 3 months ago

    Fabulous outfit and pretty hair.

  • slim cat replied 3 months ago

Fabulous as always! I'm looking forward to seeing the wavy look and all the upcoming transformations!

  • pirouette replied 3 months ago

I love your new hair cut very chic. Your hair looks very healthy and thick and glossy.

  • Cee replied 3 months ago

That's one big mic' drop !

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thank you JAileen, Carla, Style Fan, Cee and Star

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Roberta, I have naturally wavy hair! Wavier in humidity. It has to be blow dried and flat ironed to achieve the sleek look here. (Which my stylist does better than I do ;) ).

When I wear my hair wavy, I air-dry it first, and finish off the straighter bits with a curling iron. When I wear it straight with a soft wave, I blow dry it and add a bit of a kink with a curling iron. I like to change things up!

Here's a pic of my hair 100% air-dried in its natural texture earlier this week. No hair tools or product. Just brushing. (BEFORE the big chop).

Hope that helps. Thanks for the compliment, and I'm satisfied!

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Dee, thanks, and YES! I sooooo get that sweet spot length you prefer (and suits you beautifully, btw). I like that length too! Sounds like we have similar hair texture, and the weather messes with it big time. It doesn't help when you're on foot most of the time, and live by the water :)

Slim Cat, thank you for being lovely! I will be back on Team Pixie with you at some point :)

Pirouette, my hair is very fine, actually! Not thick. Yet it looks thicker shorter. It's healthy - thankfully. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Star (Lise) replied 3 months ago

ANGIE your wavy version is my favourite. So natural and relaxed, which makes it modern and youthful to my mind. I understand the need for a more 'done' look sometimes though. You do both equally well.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thank you, Star! Completely naturally air-dried hair is my least favourite look, although I wear it sometimes. I prefer polish and a more sculptural wave. Especially important in my line of work. Sweet of you to compliment both versions! Au naturel is a good beach look, or when I’m in high humidity and just let my hair be :)

  • Column replied 3 months ago

Oooooh, love how this frames the contours of your face. It`s like a picture frame!

  • Ket replied 3 months ago

I have always loved you in short hair!! You just wear it so beautifully. I'm experimenting with medium to longer hair lengths. I enjoy short hair on others though!!

  • Star (Lise) replied 3 months ago

Angie I realise this is also 'done' but it looks natural IYKWIM. :).

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Column, thanks for the compliment, and chuckle! Enjoyed the description.

Ket, that's high praise, thank you! Short hair makes me feel most at ease and authentic. That's important! In the same way, longer lengths feel that way on you, which you wear beautifully :)

    Star, appreciate the kind words!

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 3 months ago

The new haircut is so polished and perfect for you. And I love the outfit, especially how you incorporate the lighter touches throughout with not only your hair, but also boots, bag strap etc.

  • Lisa replied 3 months ago

The new haircut is lovely on you. When it's sleek it looks so chic and polished. The wavy version has a fun, relaxed and casual vibe. Both are stellar options on you.

  • Jaime replied 3 months ago

Beautiful and vibrant and a fabulous ootd too! This length suits you so well, although you rock every length. Glad you are happy with it! (I might have had a haircut also, nothing you haven't seen before ;) .)

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

UmmLila, that's high praise, thank you!

Lisa, you are lovely! Thanks for the kind words, as always. I haven't worn my new short 'do wavy yet, since I only had it cut yesterday. I will this week :) (The pic in the thread is before the big chop).

Jaime, I'm blushing at the multiple compliments :) Excited to see your new haircut!

  • merwoman replied 3 months ago

Simply gorgeous! Modern and timeless! Makes me want to run out and chop mine, but I’m not ready yet.

  • kellygirl replied 3 months ago

Love it! You made me want to change my style today! I resisted the urge though. Your hair look so good at the face framing length and it looks so sleek. Somehow, you look just as sleek with the air dry hair. IDK how you manage that! You look fab--head to toe!

  • Jenni NZ replied 3 months ago

Looks so pretty Angie. I am with you on not liking fussing with hair. I am travelling in Vietnam currently and no fuss is great. You have a different kind of job though that you like to look very polished for. I’m sure your clients appreciate that.
I will probably get a haircut while here, hair salons and nail salons are ubiquitous!

  • karen23 replied 3 months ago

That is a really nice haircut!

  • Suz replied 3 months ago

Such a gorgeous haircut -- smooth, silky and full of movement and verve. Love it! Also, your fab outfit matches the scenery. So lovely!

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Merwoman and Karen23, lovely to see you chime in, and thank you!

Kelly, such generous words! I'm blushing and smiling. Thank you :)

Jenni, high five to short and fuss-free hair! Have fun in Vietnam! Exciting to get your hair cut there.

Suz, thanks for the kind compliments, as always! I'll be back on Team Pixie at some point. Enjoying this stepping stone too. Definitely on Team Short Hair Forever with you, though ;)

  • MsMary replied 3 months ago

    Fantastic!! You look FABBBB!!!!!

  • sabimct replied 3 months ago

This dress and gilet combo looks absolutely stunning on you Angie!  I love the inspiration and always learn from you!  I'm enjoying your hair journey.  Thank you so much for sharing!

  • Sisi replied 3 months ago

Very pretty! I think you look very good in super short or medium short cuts. You have a beautiful natural color. I like how in photo #4 your eyeglasses match the red tree in the background.

  • lyn67 replied 3 months ago

A great sculpted cut, you continue to amazed me with your cuts and hair styles Angie! But you have such a great (still natural!) color, texture and mass to beging with! YLF, enjoy your new do! Oh, and loved the outfit too!

  • Suntiger replied 3 months ago

Your hair looks great at any length :)

  • RobinF replied 3 months ago

Cute cut - love it! I is very chic and zippy. I am a short hair person also. When it gets close to my shoulders it just seems to drag my face down and I need to cut it. But I don't think I'll ever be back to a super short pixie cut. I had that for many years but now like to have a bit around my face.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Mary, Sabimct, and Suntiger, thank you!

Sisi, I feel honest and more comfortable with shorter hair. My late Mama would agree with you!

RobinF, We'll leave longer hair to those who enjoy it and feel fab sporting it ;)

  • The Cat replied 3 months ago

Congratulations on your shorter hairstyle! Very chic and very you. And your outfit is gorgeous.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 months ago

Soooo good. I just love your hair this way. Best ever.

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Thanks very much, The Cat and Brooklyn! Sooooo much easier this length :)

  • Liz replied 3 months ago

Angie, your angled-bob cut is absolutely, perfectly gorgeous and exactly what I have wanted for years. The color is subtle and lovely. I LOVE this style, and it suits you so well. You look beautiful and chic.

Problem for me has been finding a stylist who is skilled enough to execute this kind of cut. In my midwestern city, it's tough to find a stylist who can do what yours has done. Maybe I should get a plane ticket to your city and book an appointment with your stylist!

  • Angie replied 3 months ago

Liz, thanks for the kind words! My stylist would love to give you a cut! :)

It's a surprisingly complex cut. Lots of long layers that look invisible, but are there to create shape and body, making all the difference. It took a long time to perfect the cut. She cut it wet. Dried it and styled it. Then continued cutting it dry. She also straightened it so that she could see the layers properly. She's a great stylist!
