First Poshmark Purchase: MY Brown

I had a cognac bag on my shopping list.

FINALLY, found exactly the right one on Poshmark for a song! The bag usually retails for $500. I bought it for $118 - brand new with tags! Never used. The service was excellent because the seller is organized. (My next potential purchase with Poshmark is not going as smoothly, unfortunately. Disorganized seller).

I have two bags like this is other colours: light blue and pink. I know it's a winner hence I triplicated.

I went to Pom Pom London to get my favourite straps to complement it! Brown (and orange). Gorgeous quality.

THIS is my brown. An orange brown, that I find very versatile. Works well with my brights, whites, golds, and blues. It matches my loafers perfectly! Works with my mules too. And my animal print belt, grommet belt, and old pleather moto. THIS is the brown I want in a pair of short boots. Tall order! (I have the tall boots already - three NAS's ago).

I've worn the bag a lot already, with matching shoes - and mismatched shoes! It works well throughout the year despite the stereotypical autumn colour. I LOVE IT!

My Cognac, Whiskey, Saddle capsule - or however you want to describe this colour - is coming along.

Thanks for looking. xo

Ways To Style My New Hair!

Four years ago, I embarked on a hair project. I grew out my super short pixie - and its dyed platinum colour! -  to shoulder length long hair in my natural colour. I'm giving myself a medal for my patience ;)

Surprisingly, I much enjoyed my 100% natural dark blonde hair for four years. I don't have grey hair yet.

I've had long hair for a while, and it's been an interesting experiment! I last had long hair back in 2000 to 2002.

Verdict: I am not a long hair person.

The longer my hair got, the harder it was to maintain and style daily. I was spending far too much time on my hair, and I don't like to fuss. Salon visits were sparse and short - but daily styling I found frustrating. Furthermore, when you live in the city and are on foot like I am - you have a lot of wind, people, and rain to deal with. It's not long hair-friendly. Also, Yorkie Sam is blind, and needs extra attention. My long hair was in the way when I picked him up. Couldn't see him properly because it would fall over my eyes.

Putting my hair into a ponytail only worked at home. Outside, the wind blew my hair out of the band - hair everywhere. URGH.

As a result, I had my hair cut into a current bixie last week. It has lots of long razor-cut layers for structure.

I also had 11 foils put in to add a golden glow to the top part of my hair. It's very subtle. It's primarily to add body and dryness to my easily oily and baby fine soft hair. I need to have these foils put in twice a year. Easy and fast!

I'M DELIGHTED WITH MY NEW HAIR. It's sooooooo much easier to manage and style daily!!! I can pick up Sam many times a day with ease! A great relief!

I wear it three ways depending on my mood, and have been experimenting all week: Pics show:

  • straight
  • soft wave
  • very wavy

I will not be revisiting long hair. I will at some point, revisit my pixie but as a darker blonde. There is NOTHING easier than a wash-and-go pixie, IMO! But for the moment, I want movement and bounce in my hair, so I'm maintaining this look for a while. It allows me to change things up easily - along with varying eyewear! - and I like all versions equally.

Thanks for reading my hair novel :) xo

WIWs: 2x Belted Shirt Dresses

These are the last of my new Summer dresses. Now I've shown the forum ALL my dresses - (over the years) - which I keep for a very long time! Some are more than 10 years old. My dresses seem to wear well despite frequent laundry.

Shirt dresses are my thing. Cotton and worn with dainty flats.

These are belted shirt dresses, which is ONE of the ways I wear a shirt dress. I wear them like boxy sacks too, depending on my mood.

1. Stripe Dress: An unusual addition because it's more fitted than I usually wear my dresses. I prefer volume at the bottom. Yet, I love it! It's my most worn everyday dress this Summer because of the exceptional quality and smart casual vibe. Pretty curved hem and side slits (pic #3). It barely creases and always looks polished.

2. Orange Dress:  This is NOT at an everyday dress because it's dressier (shiny fabric), and a lot of dress (pic #8). The swoosh-factor is off the charts! It comes out to play fewer times. I LOVE this dress! I like dresses with bows! It's magical to wear. And orange is my colour of the year.

The last of my Summer frocks! The last of my long hair too. I've had  inches cut off since these pics were taken. So starts the next hair chapter. xo

WIW: Favourite Green Dress!

Actually, it's my only green dress, and it's a fave because lime green is my favourite colour ;)

The shirt dress is new, and I've worn it three times. Very breezy and lightweight. LOVE the shape and white buttons! It's an everyday dress as long as the weather is hot and my shoes are flat. It can be worn like a sack - (stock photo) - or buttoned asymmetrically like this. That's how I want to wear it, since that's the feature of the frock!

The colour is most accurate in pic #4, downstairs in our loft.

The citron bag is 13 years old and a favourite too. New NAS gold flats are versatile! I'll get a back up pair in Oct.

When I'm going to wear a dress, it's probably going to be some sort of shirt dress. I have sleeveless dresses, knitted fit & flared dresses, and a sweater dress. Shirt dresses have a bigger portion of my heart.

Thanks for looking. xo

WIWs: Frocks and a Skirt

Wiws, from earlier this week. Summer Everyday Casual. For context, I live in the city, and walk a lot.

We've had hot weather in Seattle, like the rest of the US. My summery frocks are frolicking in the heat! You'll see more dresses later.

I LOVE shirt dresses!!! My absolute favourite type of dress. Most of my dresses are sleeved shirt dresses at a midi or midaxi length. Cotton. Covered. Cool. Comfy. Casual. I wear them boxy like a sack, or with a self-belt. Always with flats.

Here are the same two dresses I bought in two colours, a while ago. They are my breeziest and most lightweight dresses. They were AMAZING in the high humid heat of New Orleans last year!

I don't wear sandals, unless I'm in beachy Greece or Italy. I prefer my toes covered in the city!

The other outfit is my ONE Summer skirt. And I love it! I'm a dress person, so one everyday Summer skirt is all I need.

Nothing is new, except for the initial "A" necklace, and the gold NAS flats.

Thanks for looking. xo
