New Raincoat that found me :)

In Seattle, WA, outerwear with a hood is a VERY good idea because of the rain (I'm outside on foot a lot). The wind makes umbrellas tricky, so hoods are a better bet.

I passed on one of my raincoats. The plan was to take my time replacing it because I have other hooded coats and jackets across a range of thicknesses.

Sometimes, the perfect wardrobe item unexpectedly finds you! Like this navy and white checked darling at HALF PRICE. I was looking for items for a client, and bumped into it.

No belt, side entry pockets, fab quality, good fit, soft, comfy, lined, polished, easy to pack, and a party at the back (pic #6).

Tried and tested a few times - it's perfectly waterproof. I'm happy to pattern mix with it too.

Highly recommend the raincoat if you're looking for something similar. xo

Replacement White Bottoms: UNIFORM

White jeans and Summer white pants were on my shopping list - and I've found them! (Needed to replace old pairs of white bottoms that bit the dust. Wardrobe essentials for my style).

  • Boden Chinos (sorry - no pics yet - later!)
  • COH jeans are super duper after getting the right size! I sized down two sizes to get the fit I wanted. The crotch point is a little long, but works with the drama of the silhouette, to my eye.

Showing the jeans with cropped apple green silk/cotton sweater which is much more sour in person. Colour is like the Find. The light in this rental it making it blue.

Also showing it with a silk horsey blouse I got for Christmas plus gold support act because white bottoms are my UNIFORM  - (and happy place :) ) -  in the late Spring and Summer. It's all I want to wear along with shirtdresses and co-ords.

I tried on several pairs of white slim straight jeans. They looked fine, but did not spark joy. I'm happy to wear slim straight trousers - and do! But want my jeans roomy, relaxed and big. For now ;)

WIW: Chartreuse Sky

I love a side of acidic chartreuse! It's sour -  just how I like my colours :)

New '70s jacket! It's a workhorse. Seamlessly remixes with most of my wardrobe. Versatile! Here it is with light blue and cream.

All other items are one to four years old.

This is WIW to work with a client all day - then walk Sam and Jo. It's casual because my client is casual. I dress for my audience.

I didn't need a coat because I was in a mall. Popped a coat on to walk the doggies though!

I love wearing flat loafers with big jeans and pants! Feels elegant, somehow.

Hair is a good length.

In the rental with bad mirror and light. 6 weeks to go till we can hopefully move back to our loft!

Thanks for looking. xo

Update: Cherries and Bows

FYI:

I had to see the cherry sweater in person because I kept thinking about it! (Find #1). The sweater came, and went because:

  • It was dull - (on me). The oatmeal bits are grey, and the pink is greyed and muddy too. Not as vibrant as in the stock photo. The cherries were a fab colour, though. But the rest was not despite the gorgeous quality and good price on sale.

Happy to have scratched that itch!

The bows with matching scarf on the other hand, I got a few months ago and they are PERFECT. Much better palette - (for me). Snapped a pic on Valentine's Day.

Even if the colour of an item is only slightly off, I won't commit to it. It's THE most important part of the item for me. It doesn't matter how stellar the rest of it is. The colour must be right.

I'm very passionate and particular about colours :)
